  • Great Property, Great Host!

"My wife, two kids and I had a 3 week dream vacation in Costa Rica and were delighted that two of the weeks were at this property. It was great location in a very safe complex. Plenty of room for us cook, spread out and relax. Access to the "Magic Jack" internet phone was a much appreciated plus. Both the owner and manager were very responsive to our inquiries. We hope to return again!"

  • High Quality Home

"My family of five stayed at this property in July 2014, and had a great experience. the home itself is very high quality...everything is solid and works well. My only complaint is that the home is almost too solid! The doors are heavy and very nice, but when you're sneaking out of your room and don't want to wake your spouse, you have to close them very gently else the sound of the heavy teak may disturb them! We went to Tamarindo primarily to surf. There's not a great break at the beach directly in front of the home, but if you go up the road toward Langosta, there's a parking area and a trail down to a decent break. The little splash pool seemed a bit hokey at first, but we used it everyday. they kids had fun in it, and it was a great way to cool off quickly or rinse from the beach. Also, the quietness of the patio was real serene...my wife and I enjoyed sitting out there and relaxing. There were some issues when we stayed there, but they were negligable at best. But the reason I bring it up is that the response to the issues was great! And that's really what you want...responsiveness. Problems are going to happen, as they do nearly everyday. But what sets apart people and services is how the problems are responded to. For example, the wifi wasn't working when we arrived, and it wasn't an easy "call the ISP" issue. The company had to actually do some work out on the street to get the wifi functioning. But in the interim, a smartphone was provided to create a personal hot-spot so we could connect to the internet. It was a quick and creative solution while the bigger problem was being corrected. Last comment: The concierge service was fantastic! Sebastian was friendly and insightful and went above & beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He gave us some "locals only" tips on beaches...but you have to be super-cool like us to warrant that level of service! If you want a nice, comfortable, quiet place that's away from the touristy area, this property is it!"

"Listing was accurate. Photos were accurate. Clean enough. Owner was helpful. Would recommend unit to a friend or relative. Nearby restaurants I would recommend include The Shack, The Beach House, Marco Polo, Las Brisas, Perlas. Enjoyed the catamarand sunset cruise, saw dolphins. Unit needed more dishes. Lots of pots and pans but not serving dishes etc. Bathroom sinks need some repair. Drains did not work properly. A gas barbeque would have been nice. There was an outdoor grill but it was very slow."

  • Surfer's Paradise

"I just got home from my 10 day stay at Casa Marina and had a wonderful time. I went with my wife, our 1 year old daughter, and my sister and her boyfriend. Marina arranged our airport transportation since we didn't want to rent a car. The driver had an nice van with A/C and a cooler full of cold drinks for the hour ride to Playa Grande. He even let us stop at the store on the way to stock up on groceries. Marina greeted us at the property and gave us the quick tour. The two rooms are very nice, clean, and spacious. The pool and the yard are beautiful. Within about 2 hours we were completely settled. Half our group was relaxing by the pool and the other half were sitting on cheaply rented longboards ($100ea for the 10 day stay from a local surf camp) catching perfect warm water waves and watching the sun set over the Pacific. Over the next 10 days we surfed twice a day, every day. The beach is literally a 100 or maybe 150 yard walk at the most. Their pool is warm because it has a dark bottom and absorbs heat from the sun. I've been in other pools in Costa Rica and Nicaragua with white bottoms that are too cold to hang out in. The restaurants close by in Palm Beach Estates (all less than a 5 minute walk) were all very good. The convenience/grocery store (also less than 5 minutes) has EVERYTHING at totally reasonable prices. We took a $20 round trip cab ride into Playa Grande for dinner 2 other nights. Sunday Night Sushi at one of them was excellent. All in all, we had a wonderful time at Casa Marina. I don't think there's a better "bang for the buck" place to stay in Playa Grande. If you're looking for a good place to stay on a surf trip, you've found it. We didn't do any of the other tours (estuary tour, ziplines, white water rafting, volcano tours, etc) but I've heard they're all fun as well. We basically woke up at sunrise, surfed for 2-3 hours, relaxed by the pool the rest of the day and surfed again 2-3 hours until the sun set and started getting dark. We'll definitely be going back!"

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
