  • A Week in Paradise

"My family of 4 spent a week at the Palms in Keith's Villa in March, 2015. Having been there earlier and having stayed at another not so great villa in the same complex, we were a bit apprehensive about the quality of the villa. Fear not. This Villa is a true gem, decorated tastefully with international art and crafts. The linens and towels are of top quality. The owner is a true host, not just someone you rent from. He took great care of us, and addressed any possible concerns (such as a complicated but working coffeemaker, replaced immediately). Every villa is individually owned, and you are at the mercy of the owner's tastes and budget. Keith goes the extra mile to make sure you have a great vacation at Playa Flamingo. We arranged for a private tour of the Palo Verde National Park with Eco Travel. It is cheaper and better than going through the options given at the Residence Club. Our guide Carlos was wonderfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Highly recommended. Playa Flamingo is probably the best beach in Costa Rica. We will return to this villa soon. Thank you Keith!"

  • Wonderful spot in Sámara

"We, a couple in our 40s, stayed at this Veneto Condo unit for a week in February, 2015. Upon arrival, there were a couple of very minor glitches re: cleanliness, but Nick, the property manager, was very quick to sort those out for us. This unit is just as described. The views from the living space are amazing - sweeping views of the ocean, sky, landscape and town. The condo unit was more than the two of us needed - two well-appointed bedrooms, 2 bathrooms each with shower, kitchen (no oven, but we weren't there to bake :)), and comfortable, spacious living space. There was even in-unit washer and dryer, although we didn't need to use them. The air conditioning cooled the place down nicely. The back entrance was a nice spot to watch monkeys in the morning. The pool area was even nicer than the photos let on. There were plenty of lounge chairs, and the ocean views magnificent. The pool was kept clean, and the friendly caretakers were available to start the waterfall upon request. The condo is within easy walking distance to town and the beach, but we usually took a cab home in the dark (~$2 US) as the roads back up were a bit tricky to navigate. The only things we could possibly have wished for were a slightly softer mattress, and a balcony to enjoy in the evenings, to watch the sunset. The owners were very helpful over the phone and via email, and payments and reimbursements went smoothly. Did I mention what a star Nick, the manager was? (there you go, Nick!) No, really, he was readily available to answer any questions and helped us out immeasurably during our stay. Overall, we would highly recommend this unit as a comfortable, convenient place to stay in the Sámara area."

  • Paradise

"Congratulations! If you are reading this review, you have just made the best discovery you will ever make. My husband and I found Casa Doshack four years ago, and we have returned for longer and longer stays each winter since that time. It is truly a perfect little cottage in the midst of a tropical paradise. Located directly on the quiet end of a long, beautiful beach, Casa Doshack has been (and will continue to be) a wonderful place for us to relax, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful break from our busy lives at home. Here is a sample of our typical day at Casa Doshack: We rise early and take a run or walk on the approximately 1½ mile beach, which is nearly deserted at sunrise. Then we drink coffee and visit as we sit in rocking chairs on the veranda, which looks out over the ocean. We spend the mornings reading or writing or taking pictures of the exotic wildlife, which surrounds us in the beautiful garden. We usually go for a swim in the ocean or take another walk along the beach. Then we prepare lunch in our fully-equipped kitchen and eat at the big table on the veranda, or we wander down the beach to one of the many restaurants in Tamarindo. After lunch, we have time for more reading or we take a snooze in one of the hammocks in the lanai on the edge of the property overlooking the beach. Sometimes we go on an excursion in the afternoon, or we stroll into town to pick up groceries, visit the Farmer’s Market, or shop at the many boutiques and gift stores lining the streets of Tamarindo. We always make time for another swim and another walk. At dusk we make our way to the beach for a view of the gorgeous sunset. In the evening, we prepare dinner on the grill and dine on the veranda or stroll along the beach one more time for dinner at a restaurant. We look forward to settling into our comfy bed where the sound of the ocean and the feel of the breeze lulls us to sleep. Kathy Doshack, the owner of Casa Doshack, goes out of her way to take care of her guests, arranging activities and transportation and offering great advice and information. Her cheerful housekeeper Illeana keeps the house in order and will cook wonderful Costa Rican meals upon request. The friendly gardener Manuel entertains us as he maintains the pristine garden. To give an adequate description of the virtues of this wonderful place would take many more paragraphs, but you really need to experience Casa Doshack for yourself to understand its magic."

  • Outstanding Condo with incredible ocean sunset views

"Outstanding, modern condo with terrific amenities. The 3BRs/3BAs were spotless and well appointed. With 4 adults, there was more than ample space for privacy and communal living. We would rush back every night from our adventures to have our own happy hour and watch the sunset. The pool is cleaned daily and we used the pool a couple of times. I highly recommend this unit (and the building) for others visiting Tamarindo. When renting in this development, customers should be aware the road from 152 (the main street in Tamarindo) is not paved (a short 2 block walk), although the entire condo unit is paved (with brick accoutrements) and is very secure."

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
