  • Lovely House Great location

"On my 3rd trip to Playa Grande, my friend and I (60 something women) took our 9 twenty-something kids for a weeklong break from the cold Northeast Everybody loved Casa Kalumina. Elisa, the rental agent, is local and was there to help us activate the wireless internet and assist with any need. The house is close to the beach, local market and restaurants as well as the water taxi to Tamarindo. We are booking for next year already"

  • Astonishingly Beautiful, Perfect Spot, Perfect Hosts

"As a nearly retired couple from the Hudson Valley in New York, with grown children and one grandchild, we wanted to take a truly "family" vacation. We invited our son, 40, his significant other, 32, our daughter, 36, her son, 10, to join together for a special trip to Casa Grande. We arrived in the dark, appreciating an awesome, beautifully finished home interior and distant sparkling lights around Lake Arenal. Then, we awoke to the amazing view! It is unbeatable! The owners Tom and Maria kept in touch by email and phone in the months prior to our arrival and made sure our communications, airport transportation, and arrival were complete and managed efficiently. They each offered counsel and assistance with all our day trips. Casa Grande is stunning, while at the same time completely homey, satisfying all one's needs and making one's vacation life simple. It delivers all it promises."

  • A fabulous 2 weeks

"What a great vacation, we spent 2 weeks at Villa Casa Colina, and only regretted that our vacation was ticking away.( As my wife frequently stated, if I don't make it to the Plane don't come looking for me.) Villa Colina is very clean, well appointed with all kitchen needs, handy laundry facilities, and an outstanding view. Neil was excellent to work with, and the communication was outstanding from start to finish. I originally had multiple changes occur with work,( changing dates ) and Neil worked with us all the way to ensure that booking was smooth. We loved the facility and the unit, the staff was great to work with and the activities in the area exceeded all our needs. We have been travelling to Costa Rica annually for several years, and this is definitely the best trip yet. Thanks .. We would highly recommend working with Neil and renting this unit to family and freinds."

  • Great location, beautiful beach

"Working with Sid was easy. he was very respectful of our privacy, but would respond any time we had a question. He has an absolutely beautiful villa at a reasonable price. We stayed in the larger villa on the middle floor. It was spotless when we arrived. We cooked in-home several times, and were not lacking for kitchen supplies for beans, rice, breakfasts, tacos, etc. Everything was there, and in good working order. He even had a colander. He gave us alternate directions to get to the Villa from SJO in order to avoid construction. He referred us to a pretty good tour operator who offered nice excursions for reasonable prices. His maid, Maritsa, was sweet and a great cook. She made us comida tipica one evening and it was REALLY really good. You should ask for her to cook for you. She was super timely with laundry - which meant we didn't have to pack as much! The villa itself is nestled in a hillside with a great view in the morning of the mountains. The pool below is a play-pool, which means that the water was quite warm in our week of travel. Still, after being beaten up by the ocean, it was very nice to just float and relax in the pool. The tropical landscaping around the property is very pretty. We saw a few interesting birds, and very pretty flowers. On our last morning, the howler monkeys gave us a show in the trees just outside the perimeter of the property. The walk to the beach is down a somewhat steep walk. You'll want to wear shoes. After being tossed around the ocean, the walk back up the hill can be a bit tiresome. It would be difficult for someone who lives a sedentary life, but just stop to breathe and you'll make it. Bring bug spray. Bring sunscreen. Bring shampoo. Sid provides shower soap, but it's what's available locally. The pix don't show bathrooms, but they were all very nice. Nice bath towels and linens. Beach towels were thin, but hey, dry off on the beach in the sun! The A/C worked just fine. In the hot week we were there, we opted to use it. Sid has you put down a cash deposit for damage. Just use the coasters to protect the finishes, and treat the place respectfully. He provides all the basic necessities and many nice amenites. Enjoy!!"

Guanacaste Travel Tips

Guanacaste Beach Rentals Give You the Real Costa Rica

If you are looking for long summer days on beautiful coastlines, Guanacaste beach rentals are for you. Vacations in Costa Rica can be filled with activities, sun, and sand. Enjoy the stunning shoreline, top-notch surfing, snorkeling, and so much more when you stay at Guanacaste resorts. The province is the perfect vacation destination for the whole family or the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon.

Breathtaking Vistas within the Guanacaste Resorts Regions

All along the eastern borders of the province you will find a chain of volcanoes, many of which are visible from some Guanacaste beach rentals. The volcanoes meet the Cordillera de Tilaran and Cordillera de Guanacaste mountain ranges and offer plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and other high elevation activities. The views in this region are particularly breathtaking, especially when you reach Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area with its lush forests filled with exotic plants and animals. No one ever said vacations in Costa Rica would not be gorgeous!

Vacations in Costa Rica Offer a Little Culture

As you plan your stay in Guanacaste resorts, you might appreciate learning a little bit about the local culture. The region is rich in culture and even takes its name from the word “quahnacaztlan” which is actually the word for the Guanacaste tree in the native language. This tree also happens to be the national tree of the country. Vacations here, especially those at Guanacaste beach rentals, will allow you the opportunity to see what the real Costa Rica is all about.

The Best Way to Reach Your Guanacaste Beach Rentals

Because it is a foreign country, vacations in Costa Rica do take some planning. The easiest way to reach Guanacaste resorts is to fly into Liberia and land at the Daniel Oduber International Airport. From the airport, you may either rent a car or take a bus through Guanacaste up the Pan-American Highway which is quite scenic. You will even catch a glimpse of the volcanoes on your way.
