  • Amazing Vacation at Jungle Love Garden House

"Wow! What a fabulous stay we had in wonderful Costa Rica. Poppy and Yamu were truly unforgettable hosts. Exchanging emails prior to booking our stay, Poppy was so helpful with travel information and recommendations. From the moment we arrived we felt safe and at home. The home sits on the beautiful grounds of the delectable Jungle Love Cafe. We HIGHLY recommend eating there at least once (or several times like we did) during your stay). You'll need reservations for dinner, as we learned this is a highly sought after location for dinner (it's not hard to tell why once you've eaten there). Poppy and Yamu were great with getting us set up with this. Yamu is a wonderful chef and the servers are wonderful! Even though the house is near the restaurant, it was very quiet and we were never disturbed by guests. The house had several amenities including Wifi and extra sunscreen and bug spray if needed. Leticia came and cleaned for us on Friday, half way through our stay and a load of laundry was included. The house felt very large and airy, PLENTY of room for just the two of us. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed and with a fully stocked market right around the corner we were able to eat several meals right at home. The upstairs bedroom has a large, comfortable bed and A/C which was a must for me when sleeping. We were serenaded to sleep each night with the sound of the jungle. The grounds were amazing, we found so much wildlife just exploring them. A poisonous dart frog and seeing a beautiful toucan the day we left was a cherry on top. Got some wonderful shots of him :) The house is about a 2-3 minute walk to the lovely Playa Chiquita. This is a wonderful beach and was never overcrowded. There is plenty of beachfront to find your own quiet spot to relax. On our walk to the beach we enjoyed watching a clan of howler monkeys swing through the trees. They are all over the place, you just have to look! Puerto Viejo is a short drive or probably a 30 minute bike ride from the house, awesome little beach town with plenty of restaurants and activities. There is plenty to do however within in walking distance of the home. Jaguar Rescue Center is a must, also very close to the home. Everyone rides bikes there so it was very nice that two great beach cruisers were provided with our stay. Really can't say enough great things! Your guestbook showed that many others felt the exact same way as we did. It was bittersweet to leave but we'll be back!"

  • 3 generations!

"After 8 hours drive, we arrived to Cahuita and Casa Magdalena, where Doris came to welcome us. The Place was just as advertised, - open unique architecture, rustic charm! Doris showed us around, informed us about the neighbour-hood, shops and foodstore down the street and took off with friendly: good-bye I will see you tomorrow....and we did! A quick stop almost every day, answering questions, if we had any! The internet - TV worked fine, we even had a phone to reach Doris or call a cab etc. Really good service! Rain or sun, we were out every day canoeing on a quiet river in the middle of a jungle - watching for animals like parrots, slots, racoons, iguanas - listning and seeing howler-monkeys etc. In the little willage, we would eat in afro- caribbean restaurants with reggae and calypso musik. People were always so friendly and the food was really good!!! Coming back to the house, the Children (8-12) would plunge into the inviting pool, while we had caribbean strong coffee.... Sitting on the big porch, we would see the neigh-bour´s little white hen-sneeking through the hedge and lay down in the grass sunbathing! One day three well-kept dogs passed by. One of them stopped, very carefully-looking at us (or was it the food?!) He was handsome , humbled middlesized (brown/white). The children talked quietly to him and he came carefully close enough to get a snack or two..... then he cought up with the other two, waiting down the path, vaggig his white tail. We felt "lucky" for his visit! The week went fast and we want to thank you Doris for your hospitality and beeing in touch! We recommend this place and one day, we hope to be back to Casa Magdalena and to you Doris and maybe Lucky!!!!(yes, we named him Lucky)"

  • Simply Amazing Villa in Puerto Viejo

"We chose Residencia Kenia to celebrate our honeymoon and were delighted with our stay. It is an exceptional property in the area and expertly decorated and maintained. We were treated to an open air villa, private pool, jacuzzi, game room, etc. The caretakers keep the property immaculately maintained each day. They also offer a breakfast service which is very nice. The property is gated and very secure. We had access to a private stretch of beach as well. Puerto Viejo is a very short drive or bike away. And yes, there are bicycles to use free of charge at the property as well as boogie boards and other fun stuff. The property manager and caretakers were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend Residencia Kenia if you are looking for an exceptional stay in Puerto Viejo."

  • A real treasure

"We enjoyed our stay at Casa Zorro-6 adults were comfortably accommodated. Well equipped, spotlessly clean, great location just off down town-easy to walk everywhere but still quiet. We appreciated the extra attention to security. We'll absolutely return and have recommended it to our friends."
