  • Wonderful house near Cahuita, peaceful and kept-up well

"We rented this house for 3 adults and 4 children under 10 years. The house was beautiful, well cared for, and the gardens were very nice. The setting was very peaceful and relaxing. There were screens and the insects did not get in. The pool was very clean and kept up well. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with a huge refrigerator and freezer. There was plenty of room for the children to run around and play. Lorenzo and Ramon were very friendly and helpful, and the owners of the property were very responsive and helpful via email to set up the reservation. We had a car so it was easy to get to the location, and it was very fast to get to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. Our only complaints were minor: that we had one adult who slept on the top bunk downstairs. She said the bars of the bunk could be felt under the mattress and that the floorboards above squeaked loudly every time someone walked around. The noise didn't wake the kids up at all! She switched beds to get a better night's sleep. The other thing was that the highway was loud at times. We would absolutely rent this house again!"

  • Beautiful house, spectacular wildlife!

"This place is amazing! The house is beautiful and the wildlife spectacular!. They dont show that many pictures of the house but you won't be disappointed. The upper level is wide open except for the bedroom which can be completely closed and locked from the inside. The upstairs bedroom also has a private bathroom. During the day it can be opened up to enjoy the weather. There is also a large seating area and a fully screened cabana on the opposite end of the large deck. Downstairs there is another bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen and dining room close and open similarly to the bedroom so you can feel completely secure at night and feel like you're in the middle of the jungle during the day. Everyday I sat at the table and marveled while eating breakfast overlooking a beautiful pool and magnificent scenery. You're not really going to see the ocean much from here but you get so much more. Tons of White faced and Howler monkeys as well as Toucans and other birds living with you right there. We also saw a monster iguana in the Tree of Life (that's what we came to call it and you will know exactly which one I'm talking about if you stay here). The Howlers got a little wild one morning and had a little poop fight and our SUV got caught in the crossfire but it just makes the experience that much more memorable. Speaking of SUV, you can get almost the entire way to the property without 4 wheel drive but there is a quite the hill at the very end that you may or may not be able to make up in a regular car. Be warned. As far as bugs, well, yes there are bugs. You just have to be smart about it. When it gets to be dusk if you leave everything open and have lights on the bugs are going to come in. If you leave the lights off or close it up you can pretty much control it. You can walk to the store or several restuarants and bars no problem (just remember the hill on the way back). Between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo there are all kinds of restaurants, bars and shops so you really dont have to be in any one area in particular. That whole stretch of coast is really the draw. You won't regret it."

Cahuita Travel Tips

Exotic Seclusion in Cahuita Vacation Rentals

If you’re looking for a more exotic vacation, try Cahuita vacation rentals! Cahuita is a small town in tropical Costa Rica. It is removed and unusual and you’ll have peace and quiet as you relax in comfort and privacy. Because Cahuita isn’t a large city, there are only a few lodging options available for people who don’t think outside of the box. Clever travelers who know about Cahuita travel and Cahuita vacation rentals know that you can actually rent an entire home and many options are less than you’d pay at a cheap American motel!

Stunning Wildlife

Cahuita is special as it’s private, secluded, and full of amazing wildlife all around. When staying in Cahuita vacation rentals, you must visit the Aviarios del Caribe which is the only Sloth Sanctuary in the world. You can get up close and personal with them and learn all about this indigenous species. In Cahuita, you’ll also see wild monkeys and a stunning variety of tropical birds. Cahuita is also home to Cahuita National Park which is the only national park in Costa Rica that doesn’t charge admission (but it’s nice to leave a donation). The Cahuita National Park houses and preserves dozens upon dozens of marine wildlife species including sea turtles and many different species of coral, mollusks, crustaceans, and over one hundred different species of fish. You can go to the park and scuba dive or snorkel and observe the fascinating wonder of the sea. Also make sure to dine at the beloved Chao's Paradise Restaurant for the best seafood.

Private Beach Homes Are a Mouse Click Away
