  • Absolute Paradise!!

"This house looks amazing in photos, but in person it's absolute paradise! The yard and pool area is perfectly maintained and gorgeous. The house is roomy and comfortable. Sara and Nando were absolutely gracious hosts, and every question or request was immediately answered or catered to. My six friends and I didn't want to leave. We spent the week lounging by the gorgeous and clean pool, making food in the kitchen, playing cards and drinking way too many Imperials on the patio, or watching the wildlife and the ocean from the rooftop deck. The house is much closer to the beach than expected, and the view is incredible. From the rooftop we could watch iguanas in the trees, birds (so many birds), and even saw a couple sloths. The house has wifi which is a god send for those of us who are locked to our modern conveniences. There are four very spacious bedrooms, each with a lock and set of keys. The town of Cahuita is a close walk. Nearby a delicious french bakery up on the main route (highly recommended for breakfast). Sobre Las Olas is the closest restaurant, and is right on the beach, and the food is absolutely amazing! But you must try the pina coladas! I would absolutely return to Cahuita and to Casa Del Mango in a heartbeat. Affordable, comfortable, and breathtaking. Booking this house was probably one of the best decisions I've ever made."

  • Wonderful house near Cahuita, peaceful and kept-up well

"We rented this house for 3 adults and 4 children under 10 years. The house was beautiful, well cared for, and the gardens were very nice. The setting was very peaceful and relaxing. There were screens and the insects did not get in. The pool was very clean and kept up well. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with a huge refrigerator and freezer. There was plenty of room for the children to run around and play. Lorenzo and Ramon were very friendly and helpful, and the owners of the property were very responsive and helpful via email to set up the reservation. We had a car so it was easy to get to the location, and it was very fast to get to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. Our only complaints were minor: that we had one adult who slept on the top bunk downstairs. She said the bars of the bunk could be felt under the mattress and that the floorboards above squeaked loudly every time someone walked around. The noise didn't wake the kids up at all! She switched beds to get a better night's sleep. The other thing was that the highway was loud at times. We would absolutely rent this house again!"

  • Jungle Retreat

"My husband and I were blessed to have been able to stay at Casa De Early Birds for 2 weeks in early March. We wouldn't change a thing about our stay! The owners are lovely helpful people and we were lucky enough to have a chance to meet them on our way to the house. The caretakers, Henry and Rosi, are pleasant and helpful. Next time (and there will certainly be a next time) we hope to be able to speak Spanish a bit more. I can't think of a better place to rest and rejuvenate. Our days were spent watching the birds and wildlife and listening to the waves and other sounds of the jungle. We loved listening to the Howler monkeys settling down at night - and waking us up in the morning. We wandered on the beach and slept better than we had for ages. If you need a quiet restful place to "recharge your batteries" and help you remember the important things in life...this is your spot."
