"My boyfriend and I wanted to stay in a treehouse in the jungle and got more than we could of hoped for! The house is beautiful, inside and out and the landscaping and graciousness of our host only added to our incredible experience. We stayed for four nights and left wishing we were staying another four weeks. Carter was so welcoming and we enjoyed seeing his band perform in town twice while we were there! He was always available by phone or in person to answer questions, bring us fruit grown on the property or provide recommendations. He facilitated our zip lining tour and gave us very honest advice regarding other tours, which we were very grateful for. Every detail of the home is beautifully done and is only accentuated by the secluded jungle surroundings. We made 1-2 meals each day and the kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and kitchenware, including a coffeemaker, toaster, blender, etc. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot! The outdoor shower and multiple clothes lines were also very much used and appreciated. The house is close to town and right across from the property is Playa Negra and a great beach bar called The Point which we went a few times (try the Red Snapper!). Overall, we would HIGHLY recommend this home or any of the others for rent on his property and would love to return in the future!"

"We really enjoyed our time at Casa de la Musa. The rooms were comfortable, and we slept very well. If you want to Four Seasons or Hilton, this isn't the place for you. If you want a quiet, relaxing space that is romantic and private, this is it. You really need a car, but if you have one, everything is really close. One of the best restaurants in the area is close enough to walk. Everything else is just minutes away. One of the best aspects was the help we got from Mauricio's wife Anja, who is a tour agent. She set us up with some great things to do, and even hooked us up with some friends who gave us special tours. It was amazing. No doubt we would stay there again if we visit the area. D n J..."

"This house is everything that we expected. Amelie was a wonderful host and very accommodating for our needs for the four days we stayed in Puerto Viejo. We arrived in Puerto Viejo late on our arrival date, but she stayed at the house till we arrived and provided us a warm greeting and a tour of the house and grounds, More than enough space for two couples and could have had a third stay there as well with the extra room by the pool.
Yes, the pictures do justice for this property . . . it was exactly what I had imagined before our arrival. Beautifully appointed home and the extra amenities (especially the washer and dryer) was very helpful, as well as the on site caretaker.
We were a little disappointed by the lack of use of the ceiling fan in the master suite, but Amelie provide an extra fan from her home which was helpful. Bikes were provided to ride into town (about a 10 minute ride), but I would recommend walking to Banana Azul (about a 5 minute walk from the house) to get a taxi at night.
We could have explored Puerto Viejo more, but had a wonderful time during our stay, and look forward to the day that we return again. Thank you Amelie for such a great property."

"We stayed at Casa Mambo for a week in early November and found it to be a very special place. There were 4 of us, but it would accommodate 6 easily, being 3 bedroom. The living spaces are completely open; the bedrooms have secure doors and comfortable beds with mosquito netting to sleep under. Although, I don't think we saw a single mosquito! We did see lots of frogs, and revelled in being surrounded by the sounds of insects and birds, especially in the early morning. You know you are in a special place when you see Keel-billed Toucans flying into the trees! Our hosts were very experienced, but also very low key. They made sure we had everything we needed, and gave us suggestions for things to do and see while there. I especially appreciated feeling like we were staying in a close-knit neighborhood. The house was well-equipped, and we enjoyed cooking there. There were fans in each of the rooms, but I would have loved a ceiling fan in both the living room and on the big covered deck. Would have made it even better! It was nice to be able to walk 10 minutes or so to the beach, and to the neighborhood restaurant and bar! The main town, with lots of restaurants and shopping, is an easy 20-25 minute walk away. A great place to chill out for a week."
