  • Awesome and more!

"Hi Geoff: the strains of a long day of airplane waiting and flying are starting to wear off, but not the joy we experienced at your wonderful home in Punta Uva. Awesome does not come close to describing the experience. We used the opportunity to finally relax and finally did. Rosa was wonderful and helpful, and staying in your home gave us quick access to much of the area. We did not do all we could but did more than we planned. The restaurants were wonderful and wanted to tell you that on the final morning the howler monkeys showed up in a tree easily visible from the front porch. This missive is from me but sherry will be leaving a comprehensive and happy view later on the airbnb blog. We already are talking about a reprise trip to costa rice, and are briefing all our friends. Again, our sincere thanks to you as a great and caring host. My best, Gary."

  • Great Place To Stay

"A very comfortable place to stay and explore the local area. Great service from the manager Mike, who had a wealth of knowledge about local services and amenities, as well as the geography of the area. Thoroughly recommended!"

  • A special place

"My wife and I recently stayed here for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The location is excellent, the area has a multitude of activities and Stephanie with Caribe Sur Rentals was always available before and during our trip to answer questions, help with reservations and make recommendations for restaurants and activities. The house sits behind Punta Uva beach on a beautifully landscaped lot and as noted in another review has all amenities. We took a jungle tour with Abel Bustamante which was exciting, educational and fun, visited the Jaguar Rescue Center in town(private tour recommended) and the Wildlife Rescue Center in Moin, hiked Cahuita National Park and couldnt find a bad restaurant. As always, the incredibly friendly, helpful, gracious Costa Rican people made every day a treasure. As an example, we got lost trying to find the Moin Wildlife Rescue Center and ended up in some industrial complex where a guard who didnt speak English got a guard who did to give us directions. Well, we got lost again and another local person offered to help and was calling the center on his phone for directions when the guard we spoke with pulled up in his pickup truck to make sure we were okay. He had followed to check on us. The only disappointment we had was not being able to snorkel. The water was excellent for swimming and body surfing but too rough for snorkeling. You can check the surf levels at www.surfline.com if interested. So, lots of stuff to do close by and/or relaxing/ reading in a hammock listening to the sound of the water aint bad either."

  • The perfect funky paradise!

"Four of us stayed here over Christmas. We relished the views from all directions, having our own spaces as it is three levels (Swiss Family Robinson-esque!), took turns sleeping in the top story, and loved all the artistic touches such as colorful tile-work, shimmery or vintage fabrics, and the beautiful wood floors, railings and cabinets. And there's a great library! Our favorite spot was the pool area; great views, plants, and huge wood table with bancos for family dinners. We had a gas swimming with the frogs at night, but Jeff keeps the pool immaculate with daily visits. There's a 40 minute hike into the jungle on "the back 70" leads to a shed with yet another incredible view. Of course, the exotic wildlife and beaches (15 minute walk) make Costa Rica so special and Cielomar has it all, right outside your door. You will definitely need a 4WD but we walked up and down the hill many times. While this is a 5 star review, do not expect a 5 star lodge. Some of the fabrics and things are older and worn, but for us, that made it all the more comfortable, hence the word funky. It fit our needs and dreams perfectly, and we will come back someday!"
