"My wife and I just returned from a week-long stay at this house. We can't imagine a better place to stay near Puerto Viejo. The house is literally steps from the beach; we fell asleep each evening listening to the waves crash against the sand. There's a huge screened-in porch to protect against the plentiful insects in the area, the bedrooms have air conditioning, and the 2nd floor bathroom has hot water. It has been beautifully renovated. Yolanda did a great job of cleaning the house during our stay. An amazing vacation home--we hated to leave and can't wait to return next year. Regarding a recent traveler's complaints about the "rustic" nature of this home: it's not the Ritz-Carlton. It's located in a jungle, about a hundred feet from the Caribbean sea. There are many bugs and other jungle creatures. If you want a four-star resort with all the comforts of home and no insects, look toward the Pacific side of the country. For an authentic, unique, unmatched Costa Rican experience (and still with a significant amount of "creature comforts"), choose Casa de la Musa without hesitation."Guest: ML Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 12, 2014View listing
"Stayed here recently for my honeymoon. The house is amazingly beautiful. Open to the jungle around you. Full kitchen. Pepe and Sonya, the owners, were very helpful with our stay as well."Guest: Liz Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: September 24, 2014View listing
"Can honestly say that this was the nicest accommodation that we have found in the six years we have vacationed in Costa Rica. From the moment we arrived Ed and Joanne were attentive and helpful. The open air living space was beautifully appointed and comfortable. Would totally recommend!"Guest: C2CR Date of Stay: May 2014 Review Submitted: May 31, 2014View listing
"Our family, six adults and two children under three years, welcomed the New Year in one of the most glorious accommodations in Costa Rica! From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable, safe and happy! Amalie welcomed us with warmth and gave us many suggestions for activities, restaurants and general information about the area. We were able to easily walk to the beach every day. We can't say enough about the beautiful, African-themed accommodations!! The youngest was still crawling, and he had plenty of room to practice! The open construction allowed us to feel as if we were living in one of the rain forests of CR. We all enjoyed the pool at the end of each day. The caretakers were on the grounds to assist us in ALL matters and even prepared us a wonderful breakfast. We would HIGHLY recommend Casa Kenia to all ages."Guest: Anne Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: April 1, 2014View listing
Limon Travel Tips
The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals
The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.
Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other
If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.
If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts
Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.
Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals
If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
