  • Awesome and more!

"Hi Geoff: the strains of a long day of airplane waiting and flying are starting to wear off, but not the joy we experienced at your wonderful home in Punta Uva. Awesome does not come close to describing the experience. We used the opportunity to finally relax and finally did. Rosa was wonderful and helpful, and staying in your home gave us quick access to much of the area. We did not do all we could but did more than we planned. The restaurants were wonderful and wanted to tell you that on the final morning the howler monkeys showed up in a tree easily visible from the front porch. This missive is from me but sherry will be leaving a comprehensive and happy view later on the airbnb blog. We already are talking about a reprise trip to costa rice, and are briefing all our friends. Again, our sincere thanks to you as a great and caring host. My best, Gary."

  • Villa Noor Manzanillo, Costa Rica

"Excellent place to stay in Manzanillo. Probably the best--! and the closest house to the town and beach (which is right down a private path a few hundred feet ) There is a great second floor open balcony where we spent much of the day as a family- playing games - doing homework and reading. Surprisingly- the balcony had few intruders and then just a few bugs and a skink or 2. We also watched wildlife all hours of the day and night. The house is quite secluded and still very easy walk to town. Recommendations? Maybe bring a hair dryer.. binoculars for sure .. We did not do a lot of activities choosing to not use the internet or cell phones and trying to get bored. We had bug spray for mosquitos but did not need or use it in the season we stayed...March/April. We did let the teens watch TV the second to last day and they found 4 movie channels in English--- so had a good movie and popcorn night. Manzanillo, Costa Rica was different than any place we have visited in Mexico. Very indiginous - but also very hostel traveler friendly. Prices for everything- meals - clothing -etc..were about the same or even more than in the United States I suppose due to it being remote. We noticed though in San Jose it was also typical for a meal to be $10 to $20 US - with breakfast more like $9 with a drink. Few homes have this much room and such a reasonable price. You would not make a mistake renting this ... very good contact with the caretakers and the owner... Lovely place !"

  • Pura Vida!

"What an awesome place! We stayed in the BirdHouse for 3.5 weeks in Feb 2015 and loved it! 5 of us in total, one couple downstairs and my family of 3 upstairs. We had plenty of space so we weren’t in each others way and when we wanted to get together to eat or play cards we all sat together in the kitchen. Pamela and Carter are wonderful hosts, very caring and attentive to details. We also watched Carters band play a few times in town, not to be missed! Their 4 dogs were very loveable, and kept an eye on things around the property. On the property we saw and heard tons of sloths, agoutis, geckos, lizards, huge butterflies, fire flies, frogs, bats, cool looking bugs, saw one snake, cool spiders in webs and only one spider in the house (not bad considering I am terrified of spiders) and my husband counted over 100 different birds! Toucans, collared aracaris , parrots, kiskadees , oropendolas, manakins & slaty-tailed trogons to name a few! The plants on the property are beautiful and feels like you are walking through a tropical park! We did not rent a car, we would walk into town every day and took a taxi back ( 2000 colons or $4 one way for a taxi from town). Puerto Viejo was very laid back, had the reggae vibe to it, never once did we feel unsafe…we all took turns going to town on our own to get groceries or just wander around…no worries! We also rented bikes one day and rode to Manzanillo and saw TONS of wildlife along the way. It was the most relaxing, laid back vacation I have been on. Everyone we met was so calm, Pura Vida really described what we felt and experienced! I highly recommend Puerto Viejo and Finca Loco Natural to everyone :)"

  • Perfect Winter Escape

"Casa Bella was the perfect house for me to settle for six weeks this winter. Casa Bella is located in the wonderful town of Playa Chiquita, offering all you need within walking distance. I rented a bike and headed out most days to explore the many beaches and communities along the coast. It was wonderful to live without needing a car! Living in this lush jungle environment, soaking in salt water, eating local fresh food, daily outdoor living, I have never felt healthier. Erinn and Darren have very high standards of property maintenance and care for their guests with utmost attention. I loved the property, the environment, the amazing and constant flow of wildlife, the adventure opportunities, and the mix of people from all over. My first Canadian Snowbird experience gets five stars!!!!"

Limon Travel Tips

The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals

The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.

Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other

If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.

If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts

Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.

Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals

If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
