"This place is amazing! The house is beautiful and the wildlife spectacular!. They dont show that many pictures of the house but you won't be disappointed. The upper level is wide open except for the bedroom which can be completely closed and locked from the inside. The upstairs bedroom also has a private bathroom. During the day it can be opened up to enjoy the weather. There is also a large seating area and a fully screened cabana on the opposite end of the large deck. Downstairs there is another bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen and dining room close and open similarly to the bedroom so you can feel completely secure at night and feel like you're in the middle of the jungle during the day. Everyday I sat at the table and marveled while eating breakfast overlooking a beautiful pool and magnificent scenery. You're not really going to see the ocean much from here but you get so much more. Tons of White faced and Howler monkeys as well as Toucans and other birds living with you right there. We also saw a monster iguana in the Tree of Life (that's what we came to call it and you will know exactly which one I'm talking about if you stay here). The Howlers got a little wild one morning and had a little poop fight and our SUV got caught in the crossfire but it just makes the experience that much more memorable. Speaking of SUV, you can get almost the entire way to the property without 4 wheel drive but there is a quite the hill at the very end that you may or may not be able to make up in a regular car. Be warned. As far as bugs, well, yes there are bugs. You just have to be smart about it. When it gets to be dusk if you leave everything open and have lights on the bugs are going to come in. If you leave the lights off or close it up you can pretty much control it. You can walk to the store or several restuarants and bars no problem (just remember the hill on the way back). Between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo there are all kinds of restaurants, bars and shops so you really dont have to be in any one area in particular. That whole stretch of coast is really the draw. You won't regret it."Guest: Adam Date of Stay: January 2014 Review Submitted: January 27, 2014View listing
"We stayed at casa brisas for 8 memorable nights. Each afternoon we sat on the porch and watched an endless display of howler monkeys and tropical birds fill the landscape. The open concept of the house makes you feel part of the jungle while also providing the comfort of luxurious living. It’s a short walk to the gorgeous beaches and fine restaurants that make up this hidden gem of an area. Highly recommended!!!"Guest: joseph Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: September 3, 2014View listing
"Hi Geoff: the strains of a long day of airplane waiting and flying are starting to wear off, but not the joy we experienced at your wonderful home in Punta Uva. Awesome does not come close to describing the experience. We used the opportunity to finally relax and finally did. Rosa was wonderful and helpful, and staying in your home gave us quick access to much of the area. We did not do all we could but did more than we planned. The restaurants were wonderful and wanted to tell you that on the final morning the howler monkeys showed up in a tree easily visible from the front porch. This missive is from me but sherry will be leaving a comprehensive and happy view later on the airbnb blog. We already are talking about a reprise trip to costa rice, and are briefing all our friends. Again, our sincere thanks to you as a great and caring host. My best, Gary."Guest: SHERRY P. "We chose Residencia Kenia to celebrate our honeymoon and were delighted with our stay. It is an exceptional property in the area and expertly decorated and maintained. We were treated to an open air villa, private pool, jacuzzi, game room, etc. The caretakers keep the property immaculately maintained each day. They also offer a breakfast service which is very nice. The property is gated and very secure. We had access to a private stretch of beach as well. Puerto Viejo is a very short drive or bike away. And yes, there are bicycles to use free of charge at the property as well as boogie boards and other fun stuff. The property manager and caretakers were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend Residencia Kenia if you are looking for an exceptional stay in Puerto Viejo."Guest: Matt J. Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 29, 2014View listing
Limon Travel Tips
The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals
The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.
Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other
If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.
If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts
Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.
Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals
If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
