"My husband and I were blessed to have been able to stay at Casa De Early Birds for 2 weeks in early March. We wouldn't change a thing about our stay! The owners are lovely helpful people and we were lucky enough to have a chance to meet them on our way to the house. The caretakers, Henry and Rosi, are pleasant and helpful. Next time (and there will certainly be a next time) we hope to be able to speak Spanish a bit more. I can't think of a better place to rest and rejuvenate. Our days were spent watching the birds and wildlife and listening to the waves and other sounds of the jungle. We loved listening to the Howler monkeys settling down at night - and waking us up in the morning. We wandered on the beach and slept better than we had for ages. If you need a quiet restful place to "recharge your batteries" and help you remember the important things in life...this is your spot."Guest: ManitoulinGirl Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: April 9, 2014View listing
"Jasmin Joseph Dates: October 5th to the 8th We had a lovely last-minute break in Casa Marisa. If we had known how nice it was we would have definitely booked a longer stay. The house is a great design, perfect for a family of four like us. There is plenty of space and the garden is just beautiful. We spotted different wildlife every day, including, to our kid’s delight, a sloth at the bottom of the garden! We also used the grill twice and had no problems getting charcoal and provisions from the nearby store. The house is simply furnished, but equipped with everything that we needed. We loved the four-poster bed in the master bedroom and the kids were comfortable in their room too. It was very clean when we arrived and although some bugs do get into the house, there weren’t many, considering it’s the jungle! There are plenty of towels and bed linen provided. Some of the towels are a bit old, but they were clean and did the job! We were very happy to find that this house is situated within a community. The house that we had stayed in earlier in our vacation had been quite isolated in the jungle, and although peaceful, we preferred to have some human life around us, not just the animals! The neighbours were friendly and smiley when we met them. We felt very safe, as the house is securely fenced and has an alarm; this was a priority for us, as we have two young children. The beach is amazing and you can walk for miles. The path to the beach from the back gate of the house is quite over-grown and there are some tree roots to climb over. You do really need to wear shoes to walk this way. We walked to the beach along the road from the front gate, as it was easier with the children, but it only took a minute or two longer. We would highly recommend this house and it is perfect for an adventurous family holiday."Guest: JASSYJJ Date of Stay: October 2014 Review Submitted: October 8, 2014View listing
"We rented this house for 3 adults and 4 children under 10 years. The house was beautiful, well cared for, and the gardens were very nice. The setting was very peaceful and relaxing. There were screens and the insects did not get in. The pool was very clean and kept up well. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked with a huge refrigerator and freezer. There was plenty of room for the children to run around and play. Lorenzo and Ramon were very friendly and helpful, and the owners of the property were very responsive and helpful via email to set up the reservation. We had a car so it was easy to get to the location, and it was very fast to get to Cahuita and Puerto Viejo. Our only complaints were minor: that we had one adult who slept on the top bunk downstairs. She said the bars of the bunk could be felt under the mattress and that the floorboards above squeaked loudly every time someone walked around. The noise didn't wake the kids up at all! She switched beds to get a better night's sleep. The other thing was that the highway was loud at times. We would absolutely rent this house again!"Guest: hleuszler Date of Stay: March 2014 Review Submitted: March 27, 2014View listing
"Our family of 6 just spent the New Year holiday at Las Casas and had the experience of a lifetime. The property is breathtaking and extremely well-cared for with more room than we knew what to do with. The photos, though beautiful, do not do it justice. The staff was friendly and gracious and went above and beyond to make our stay absolutely perfect. Our first morning, the caretaker pointed out howler monkeys in the trees, showed us a sleeping sloth and then walked us around the property, sharing the fruit of the many fruit trees, many of which we had never seen or tasted before. Many mornings he cut down coconuts and opened them expertly with his machete so we could enjoy coconut water right out of the coconut! Each morning the housekeeper would have the coffee ready and would prepare a delicious breakfast and one day made us the best Caribbean Chicken for dinner! She was so sweet and wonderful she became part of our family! The buildings/modules were extraordinary. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable, each with its own terrace and bathroom. The main living module quickly became one of our favorites with a wonderful, well-appointed kitchen, huge dining area, spacious living area with tons of seating and hammocks. This became family central and was ideal for planning our day, relaxing and spending time together. The pool area was another in which we spent much of our time. The pool was beautiful and well-maintained... and always seemed the perfect temperature. This module also had a large, well-appointed kitchen with outdoor grill, another bathroom, huge dining area and spacious living area with lot of seating and hammocks. We didn't spend much time in the game room module, although we always intended to but after a day of activities, dinner and swimming, we were ready to sprawl out in the main living area and relax together before going to bed. However, this module is very well-equipped with ping pong, pool table, foosball, TV and lots of comfortable seating. I can't say enough... It was a true privilege to stay here and the staff made it a very special experience for each of us. The activities, shops and restaurants the property manager recommended were absolutely perfect for our family. And the location was ideal; close to town and beautiful beaches but far enough away to feel like a tropical escape. None of us were ready to leave and were saddened to say goodbye to the amazing staff and stunning property. Until next time!"Guest: Jennifer Date of Stay: December 2013 Review Submitted: January 8, 2014View listing
Limon Travel Tips
The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals
The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.
Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other
If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.
If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts
Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.
Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals
If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
