  • Feels like home.... Only so much better!

"The puerto Viejo area has been a long time love of mine, a passion; and, the Cocles area is my absolute favorite place to stay. Close enough to town and just far enough out to really feel nature. For years I have lived in and vacationed in the area. I have stayed several times at casa del caribe, always adoring its location and charm. In January I stayed at the house with my new addition, a baby boy. It was perfect! He loved relaxing in the swing, watching the humming birds, squealed with delight at the monkeys and stared in awe at the sloth slowly moving in the tree just off the upstairs balcony. What a pleasure to have a safe, beautiful home to share my favorite spot with the love of my life, my child. Thank you Robert for maintaing and sharing you home with us!"

  • Simply Amazing Villa in Puerto Viejo

"We chose Residencia Kenia to celebrate our honeymoon and were delighted with our stay. It is an exceptional property in the area and expertly decorated and maintained. We were treated to an open air villa, private pool, jacuzzi, game room, etc. The caretakers keep the property immaculately maintained each day. They also offer a breakfast service which is very nice. The property is gated and very secure. We had access to a private stretch of beach as well. Puerto Viejo is a very short drive or bike away. And yes, there are bicycles to use free of charge at the property as well as boogie boards and other fun stuff. The property manager and caretakers were very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend Residencia Kenia if you are looking for an exceptional stay in Puerto Viejo."

  • Wonderfull place and experience

"I arrived in February in Costa Rica, I stayed with my husband in the beautiful house of Troy. I was immediately seduced by the environment, the beautiful garden, the flowers of all colors. Bruno the sloth from the comfort of a tree, displaying a teasing smile of welcome. Everything in this property calls for calm and zen. The house is just as welcoming, everything is what I needed, nothing is missing. The importance there, it is only necessary to enjoy and relax. The house is tastefully arranged, very clean. Owner Troy is available, showing all the necessary information and to practice my stay. In summary, my experience went wonderfully, I relaxed, inspired by the magic of this place. I leave Costa Rica with a souvenir colors and smells of this beautiful house, which I will talk to my friends with great pleasure. Thank you to Troy, Owner of the quality of services. Monica, I’m sorry for my bad english, I come from Italy"

  • Rainforest retreat in a fascinating area

"We loved our stay at La Patita. The house is amazing---open to the lush rainforest, yet kind of cozy and funky-- like living in a treehouse. We could lie in a hammock on the deck and spot sloths, howler monkeys, and toucans. Our hike through the Refuge with Omar was a highlight. He was a great guide--a font of knowledge on all things local. William, the caretaker was also friendly and accommodating. China, (a cook who lives in Manzanillo) came to La Patita to prepare a dinner for us one night. She is a native English speaker like all the older folks in the area, many of whom are descendants of workers who came from Jamaica to build the railroad, and work in the banana plantations. Fascinating history of this place. We loved hanging out and walking on the gorgeous beaches. Just be sure to find out where the rip tides make swimming dangerous. Good food to be had at Cool and Calm Cafe. Thank you, Sita for helping us get in touch with China and with Omar. Meeting local people made our fantastic week even better!"

Limon Travel Tips

The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals

The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.

Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other

If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.

If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts

Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.

Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals

If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
