  • Beautiful house, spectacular wildlife!

"This place is amazing! The house is beautiful and the wildlife spectacular!. They dont show that many pictures of the house but you won't be disappointed. The upper level is wide open except for the bedroom which can be completely closed and locked from the inside. The upstairs bedroom also has a private bathroom. During the day it can be opened up to enjoy the weather. There is also a large seating area and a fully screened cabana on the opposite end of the large deck. Downstairs there is another bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining room. The kitchen and dining room close and open similarly to the bedroom so you can feel completely secure at night and feel like you're in the middle of the jungle during the day. Everyday I sat at the table and marveled while eating breakfast overlooking a beautiful pool and magnificent scenery. You're not really going to see the ocean much from here but you get so much more. Tons of White faced and Howler monkeys as well as Toucans and other birds living with you right there. We also saw a monster iguana in the Tree of Life (that's what we came to call it and you will know exactly which one I'm talking about if you stay here). The Howlers got a little wild one morning and had a little poop fight and our SUV got caught in the crossfire but it just makes the experience that much more memorable. Speaking of SUV, you can get almost the entire way to the property without 4 wheel drive but there is a quite the hill at the very end that you may or may not be able to make up in a regular car. Be warned. As far as bugs, well, yes there are bugs. You just have to be smart about it. When it gets to be dusk if you leave everything open and have lights on the bugs are going to come in. If you leave the lights off or close it up you can pretty much control it. You can walk to the store or several restuarants and bars no problem (just remember the hill on the way back). Between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo there are all kinds of restaurants, bars and shops so you really dont have to be in any one area in particular. That whole stretch of coast is really the draw. You won't regret it."

  • The House was AMAZING!!!

"We had the opportunity to stay at the Jungle Love Garden House October 8-16, 2011. Poppy and Yamu were great hosts. They are extremely knowledgable about the area, making great suggestions regarding Puerto Viejo, other local restaurants, fun tours, best beach spots, snorkel locations and other general information while we were there. The house is near their amazing restaurant, but not so close that you hear or see what is happening at the restaurant. But it is nice to have a great restaurant so close for those evening when it rains. The house was described accurately and the a/c worked great upstairs - although we did not need to use it much. The property is very beautiful and it feel very secluded and safe at the same time. We ate at the restaurant 4 times during our stay. Each meal was fantastic, by far the best place to eat in the area. I would also recommend a stop by Jaguar Reserve Center for anyone considering the Puerto Viejo area. You get to see, interact and learn about local wildlife. You can even volunteer at the Reserve. The Reserve is located about 5 minute bike or 10 minute walk from Jungle Love. It is a must for anyone in the area. You get to play with young howler monkeys! I can't say enough good things about Jungle Love, Poppy and Yamu. October is a great time to visit the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, and the Jungle Love Garden House and Restaurant certainly made our trip even better."

  • Thank God for this place!

"After being scammed on another property in Cocles (called the Gingerbread House - beware of it!), we contacted Tony for a last second accommodation and he replied to us within hours and just totally took care of us! This home is great! Comfortable and spacious with many amenities that made our 3 kids feel relaxed and secure like sofas, full kitchen and cable TV. The location is really wonderful. Could not be more safe and within walking to everywhere you need. Thank God for you Tony and for Casa Zorro!"

  • The Perfect Balance

"My husband and I had the good fortune of renting this beautiful jungle house last winter. We have been vacationing in this area for 14 years and have rented many different houses. Some new and modern, some quaint and typically caribbean. We found this house to be the perfect balance. It is built in the style of the old caribbean houses, with a lot of wood and shuttered windows instead of glass and screens. Even so, it is also very modern. The kitchen has a wonderful layout with plenty of counter space for those who like to cook and you will be working with nice appliances and every imaginable kitchen gadget known to man. There is only one bathroom and that is on the second floor. No problem, the more beer you drink, the more often you have to go up and down the stairs. . . you can actually lose weight if you drink enough:-) But, seriously, the bath is large and very nice, lots of light and mirrors. The tile work is well planned and interesting. The main bedroom has a delightful deck to sit and watch the action of the jungle and river below. I often experienced it "raining iguanas" from that vantage point as the iguanas would fight in the trees and fall into the river. This property has so many iguanas, you will see them every day. The toucans, all types, love to hang out in the lower area of the property near the river and you can watch Kingfishers hunting for fish in the river. Hummingbirds, well, that is another story but if you are lucky, you will witness the nesting, hatching and raising of a hummingbird family. There is a nest in the palm fronds hanging down from the roof. It is located directly in the window of the living room. It is regularly occupied and the mommy birds are not shy. They will give you a show when they feed the babies. O.K., back to the house. The lower level of the house is not screened so sand fleas and mosquitos can be a problem at times. We simply lit one of the little incense coils for bugs in the evening and that took care of that issue. This house is set in a VERY safe neighborhood, the neighbors all know each other and keep an eye out for what is going on around them.We felt very safe during our stay.It is a question of what you want. Do you want to be in a sterile environment, completely removed from the wonders of the jungle? Do you want to be immersed in the jungle with every critter and insect? Or do you want a house that offers a comfortable balance of both? If you want the balance, this is the house for you. ENJOY!"

Limon Travel Tips

The Less Traveled Part of Costa Rica Found in Limon Beach Rentals

The Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is a beach-lover’s dream and that is where you will find Limon beach resorts. The Limon region is set apart from the rest of the country, so it offers something completely different to visitors since it is the least traveled. Spanning 125 miles, it is almost always hot and humid. Vacations in Costa Rica to the Limon province allow you to experience the country as many people typically do not. Boasting prehistoric rainforests, white sandy beaches, and unique wildlife, Limon resorts offer you one of the most memorable vacations ever.

Limon Vacations in Costa Rica Are Like No Other

If you are interested in vacations in Costa Rica, you should not miss the Limon province. Booking Limon resorts may be easier than other regions of the country as this is a far less traveled area. Situated just a short drive from San Jose, Limon was once a major banana port and is known to be the melting pot of the country. During Carnivale, the city turns into party central and is definitely something to experience.

If You Love Nature, You Will Love Limon Resorts

Taking vacations in Costa Rica allows you to see one of the more lush countries in the world. The rainforest is not the only reason to explore the Limon region. The coast is rich in wildlife as well and some of the best scuba diving opportunities await you just outside your Limon beach rentals. Home to several national parks, Limon boasts Tortuguero National Park and Cahuita National Park, Limon. Both offer an array of wildlife viewing and the latter is also the home to the last indigenous tribes of the country--the Cocles, Bribri, and Talamanca Cabecarv.

Set Your Sights on the Sloth near Limon Beach Rentals

If you need a small break from the day-to-day bustle of the city and beach near your Limon beach rentals, one of the best ways to break the cycle is to head over to Vargas Park. The park is not too far from most Limon resorts. Go ahead and grab a seat near the drooping seawall and keep your eyes open for some sloth. These slow creatures stay pretty well camouflaged and move incredibly slowly but love to hang out at this park. And when you are not sloth-spotting, try some local fare and shopping. It will be one of your most memorable vacations in Costa Rica yet.
