"First, let me say that Peter and Diane, the owners are amazingly helpful and a true joy to be around. My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Selva and we chatted with Diane and Peter every morning and even went out to eat together our last night there to a delicious Sushi restaurant about 15 minutes from the house. They supply you with a map of all great spots to hit while youre there (which was my boyfriend and I's main source of a map, thats how good!), all the brochures you could possibly need and are quite knowledgeable about the area for not being natives! The house was small, but everything 2 people could possibly need and more. The shower had an amazing view as well as the porch where we had morning coffee. I felt so safe in the house each night and leaving our stuff there every day. You truly get privacy, but company if you want it too whenever Peter and Diane are home hanging outside. We saw lots of howler monkeys, blue morphos, toucans and tons of other birds on their property alone! You do need a 4 wheel drive, but then again you need 4 wheel drive pretty much anywhere in Costa Rica. HIGHLY recommend staying here! So much better than any hotel!!!!!!!"

Great place for a relaxing retreat. Stunningly beautiful!
"Casa Yin Yang was our home for a week. Everything about this home is perfect. Rather than the very nice home next door which was designed like any nice home in our home town of Orange County, CA, Casa YIn Yang is uniquely Costa Rican in it's style. Open areas everywhere. Elegant indoor/ outdoor master bath, yoga platform near the sea (perfect for massage), extensive use of exotic wood throughout. My twenty something kids had a great time surfing on the beach in front of the house. We loved this home!"

"A few things to understand about the property.... If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not it. If you want to spend a lot of time indoors lounging around on fancy furniture, this is not for you. If you are looking for a 'home base' while you are out and about in Costa Rica that has everything you might need in addition to very helpful assistance from the property manager, you should consider this.
The house is pretty basic. It has plenty of room, a full kitchen, A/C in the bedrooms, etc. It had all we needed.... we were really only in the house to sleep and prepare food occasionally. The grounds are wonderful... nice pool, great seating area with views, awesome elevated porch for great sunsets, and easy access to the beach. The water in the ocean around Tarcoles is mixed with freshwater from the Tarcoles River, so it doesn't have that crystal clear blue color that you always see in pictures. That being said, we swam on the beach in front of the house every day, and in the pool every day.
We were a bit shell shocked when we got there about it's location, and about how remote it felt. That was quickly dispelled by exploring. There are easily 10 restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk by beach (we always walked on the beach) or by road. If you are even slightly fit, you will have no issues walking to get food. Walking down the beach in either direction leads to civilization (town or beach restaurants). We ate out almost every night, and did breakfast at the house. During the day we were usually out and about somewhere.
Patri lined up a great zipline tour, a Tico tour with Gino (well worth it) and horseback riding on the beach. We also spent a day in Jaco. There is a bus that runs from Tarcoles to Jaco. We speak almost no Spanish, but with a little common sense and some gumption, you can find your way around and figure things out. Jaco was a zoo. More Americans than in America. If I want to see a bunch of Americans, I'll stay in in Virginia. It was worth a day to play in the surf there, but a week in Jaco would have driven me insane. I feel like we got to experience the real Costa Rica on our trip by staying away from the resort areas."

"This was truly an exceptional vacation. HRG Properties & Rentals did an excellent job finding the perfect rental. Our condo was beautifully appointed with a view and all the necessary amenities. The Los Suenos Resort was a tropical paradise with well maintained grounds and sparkling pools.
HRG was very attentive to our needs and beyond their duties to make sure we had the perfect stay at Los Suenos. I highly recommend using HGR. I will be back and I will use HGR."
