  • Costa Rica trip - Nov / Dec 2014

"We spent just over two weeks in Costa Rica in November / December 2014, with the first week being spent driving all over the country and the second week spent relaxing at Casa Amarilla. It was a welcome break after spending so much time on the road having had only a couple of nights in each place along the way. The house itself was very spacious (considering there were only two of us) with a very comfy master bedroom and a huge kitchen / living area. The terrace that wrapped around the back of the property was incredible with the most amazing views of Pavones Bay. We spent a lot of time lazing in the hammocks watching for birds / monkeys and any number of other creatures that live in the surrounding forest. The pool area on the finca was also really nice and so private! Pilon beach was a short drive away which was beautiful and again, extremely private. It's a great place to really get away from it all. We also tried paddleboarding, surfing and horse riding so there is lots to keep you amused. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat and look forward to returning one day soon."

  • Great house in a great setting!

"Loved this place. Super comfortable house with all of the amenities and a great feel. Even nicer than the photos. Sitting areas abound, tastefully decorated, all bathrooms are ensuite, little details provided (laundry soap, coffee, tea and even bug spray - which by the way wasn't necessary in the dry season), kitchen super usable and well supplied (yes, as others have commented, the dishes are high (we saw this in other houses in Costa Rica too) but it allows a window at the sink with great views of the monkeys in the trees, we just put our dishes in the pantry to make it easier - plus the maid had set the table so many of the dishes were already down anyway). The really great thing about this place, aside from it being a great house with a nice refreshing pool, is that you see more animals while relaxing at home than we did at the Manuel Antonio Park and Rainmaker Park! Titis (endangered squirrel monkeys) came by (20-40 of them), even several babies clinging to their mommas, every morning and many evenings, we also had visits from capuchin monkeys, coatimundis, iguanas, motmots, and other beautiful birds. This helped make our trip spectacular. Jonathan, from the property management company, was awesome and very helpful when we needed it. We had a couple of hiccups and he handled them graciously and quickly. He also booked excursions for us at the same price as booking yourself yet we in no way felt pressured to book through him. The information was simply there with his phone number - call if you need his services, or not. Great place!"

  • Paradise

"Thank you Tim, Having spent past several years going south and cruising I must say that we have never experienced anything quite like your lovely home and the beauty of Hermosa Palms. The home itself is well laid out and very comfortable. The only issue we had was with a sink drain and that was handled promptly. This community is truly a magical place with a monkey to eat from your hands in the back yard to the beautiful macaws making thier daily 3.30 pm flight around the pool. We had coffee every morning around 6.30 am at the tiki hut poolside looking out over a spectacular beach scene. Days spent exploring the country side and evenings on the beach applauding the most glorious sunsets. It truly is that beautiful.. The people that we met there were mostly resident owners but without exception they made us feel very welcome. I can not say enough about our personal experience. Be aware though that this may be habit forming, as we were making plans for a return before we left. Perhaps an extended stay of lets say a month next time. What do you think Tim, can you part with this little slice of heaven for that long for us? Again many thanks We look forawrd to our return. Harold & Janet"
