  • Michael and wife, Israel

"My wife and I stayed in this beautiful and convenient house during the first week of April 2014. Access to the house, which may accommodate conveniently a large family, requires a 4x4 car. The house is ideally located for sightseeing along the Southern Pacific shore, from Quepos to Osa peninsula. Cerro de la Muerte is less than two hours by car. A supermarket and a few good restaurants are in Dominical, about five miles away. Watching sunset over the Pacific from the porch competes with any postcard. The caretaker was extremely kind and helpful. We will recommend this place to our friends making plans to visit Costa Rica."

  • Best family vacation ever!

"Our stay at Mareas was easily the best family vacation we have ever taken. It was amazing to have this stunning property all to ourselves! It has complete privacy, tucked away into the jungle with a panoramic ocean view, but it's only minutes from the best surfing beach in the area. My mother and wife were completely in awe of the gardens, and we all loved the walking jungle path down to the river and waterfalls. The pool is enormous, and we swam in it every day! Tim made fantastic meals for us several times - much better than any of the local restaurants. His wife Pilar was very helpful, both before our arrival and after, making suggestions for local excursions, booking tours and even arranging shuttle service. She said they often do weddings here, and I can totally believe it. My parents are already talking about us all going back for their 50th anniversary. I highly recommend staying here!"

  • Escape

"This home is amazing! I have traveled all over the world to exotic places and this home combines both comfort and being in the beauty that is Costa Rica. You can stay put in the home and enjoy the hammocks, full kitchen, infinity pool or roam around some of the most beautiful and majestic beaches on the Pacific Coast. The beaches are perfect for swimmers, surfers, and those who want to sit back and escape. Very few vendors to disturb your comfort but also very safe with enough amenities - a few great restaurants, grocery stores, ceviche stands and bars to have enough to do... We could have stayed an extra week or two and just escaped. The house is perfectly situated on a hill, with a short walk to its own beach, and amazing sunsets and sunrises that really captivate a person's senses. The weather is breezy and the stars are plentiful and your only neighbors are the occasional monkeys, tucans and other tropical wild life. It is a beautiful escape and I hope you get to enjoy this property soon."

  • Exceeded all expectations

"My wife and I have traveled for years and stayed in private villas on many occasions. I am very happy to say that Casa Antigua was a very pleasant surprise for it met or exceeded all expectations! In the past we have found online pictures and property managers to be very deceiving however Casa Antigua was a positive exception. Clinton was very helpful in answering questions preparing for our trip and also as a Host while we were there. He was readily available at all times if we needed help or information regarding the home, restaurants, grocery stores or and other details. We could tell that he did everything possible to ensure our trip met our expectations. The country and people were also incredible. Dominical is definitely not a "tourist trap". No hustling or begging and everyone we came in contact with was courteous and pleasant. We felt safe no matter where we were and did not feel threatened at any time. Casa Antigua and Costa Rica is a great place to visit and we plan on returning in the near future."
