"A unique and beautiful property that has stolen a small piece of my heart. I rented this home with my boyfriend and we enjoyed a week of absolute relaxation and privacy . A luxe experience. It's ideal for up to 4 couples, but for just two, completely amazing. Each bedroom is very isolated from the others if privacy is paramount. The master suite is by far the best, but the other 3 are cozy and charming. Photos can't do this house justice. Unique architecture, lovely details, comfortable, well equipped. Amazing acoustics if you're a musician. Daily toilet frog check became an amusing pastime, early evening is usually when they emerge. Don't be surprised by geckoes, lizards, moths, insects and birds entering the house. All friendly creatures though. Birdwatching is best done very early (5am) from the pool deck or the master suite deck, late afternoon is also a lively time. On our last morning we saw 20 toucans visit. The one thing missing from the house is a hammock experience. I bought a couple hammocks on the beach in Dominical and some rope from the local grocery store and hung them by the pool and main level deck. Highly recommended. More details: 4x4 necessary for the drive up, but nearly all rentals are 4x4 anyway. No direct sun on the main house till noon so it stays relatively cool though the morning, a/c in each bedroom is a lovely respite but not absolutely necessary. Recommend the fruit and veg stands on the road to San Isidro de el General for fresh produce, coconut juice and coconut oil. Souvenir shopping in Dominical is nice, there are beach stalls and established storefronts. Don't be afraid to compare prices and bargain. Algeria spa in Dominical is amazing for massages and facials. Inexpensive and professional. Neil is a professional, thoughtful, thorough and accessible host. Working with him was a pleasure. We're looking forward to our next visit. Pura Vida! Viva Casa Tangaroa!"

  • Paradise!!!

"Everything all of the other reviews say, is absolutely accurate. We traveled to CR to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. Clinton arranged for a driver to greet us at the Airport and drive us to his home. We also used this service on the way back. It was so nice to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views. The drivers provided us some history of the area as well as taking time to show us a few special things about the area. When we arrived at Casa Antigua there were fresh flowers from the gardens on Clinton's property in the bathrooms and main living area. It is the little touches like this that make Casa Antigua so special. Clinton has thought of EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay. We love to cook and the kitchen was great!! You certainly cannot beat the views if you want to make some meals!! Clinton arranged for a cook, Yeda, to prepare a true Costa Rican meal and Civeche on the evening we arrived. It was so nice to be able to stay there once we arrived after a very long day of travel. The cost was very appropriate and we were able to get about 4 meals out it!! We recommend this service. Our favorite things about this property were the amazing views of the ocean, gardens, birds, and the seclusion you feel. We also loved the music selections that were available for our listening pleasure in and out of doors. Clinton's personal attention to detail in his home and in setting up excursions was awesome. Staying at Casa Antigua was like staying in a 5 star hotel, without anyone else being around!! The location of Casa Antigua is perfect. In the mountain, but close enough for quick trips to Dominical, Uvita, the smoothie shop, and Ceviche stands!! It was also very comforting to have a gated community with 24/7 guard on duty. We could not have picked a better place to make memories of our special anniversary vacation. The home, Clinton, and Costa Rica far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Casa Antigua! Thank you Clinton for everything. We will be back!!"

  • Vistas Infinitas . . . Say's it All!

"Upon our late arrival, we were greeted with a big smiling welcome from Nickie (house manager), who showed us around your beautiful home! It was more magnificent than depicted on the website, extremely well appointed, kitchen fully equipped and comfortable beds! Every detail thought of, the fans, lighting, books, etc. The landscaping around the home was full of tropical foliage with landscape lighting at night actuating the lipstick palms to bougainvillea framing in the view of the Pacific Ocean from the porch! My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with another couple and your home provided the perfect setting! Each morning began with gazing at the ocean as the sun rose revealing the colors of the flora of the surrounding mountains . . . after breakfast we explored the country, Quepos Fiera (Saturday), Hacienda Baru (nature trail and zip line), Manuel Antonio, the Organic Fiera in San Isidro (Tuesday's), and afternoon's in the pool (very private), until the rains refreshed earth, then the sunsets, what more can I say! We had visits from Toucan's, Humming Bird's and the resident frogs, a real treat! Showering using the outdoor shower, before dinner each night was Pura Vita with orchids peeping over the rail and the mountain side was the shower curtain! The broad selection of reference books gave insight to the birds, animals and culture of Costa Rica! We were so into the outside world that we didn't turn on the satellite TV at all. WiFi handled data transfer with no problem, and annoying bugs were virtually non existent at that altitude. 4x4 recommended, drive slow and look for wildlife! Nickie was a great help and wonderful to share when, where and what about Costa Rica . . . Perfect pick for us, thank you for sharing your home!"
