  • Osa Vista Acres and Casa Vista are spectacular!

"You'll absolutely love this very special part of Costa Rica's southeast Pacific Coast, the interesting towns from Quepos to Ojochal, the "string of pearls" beaches, and Diane's and Peter's beautiful place and spectacular hospitality. I stayed at Casa Vista for 10 days in March 2015. The casita is perfect - completely well-appointed and has everything you need. The view is breathtaking -- all day any day, but especially at sunrise. Diane and Peter are great and so into their community - they have wonderful spot-on suggestions and recommendations, really know the area thoroughly, and can help you plan your time there. It's also great just to hang around the beautiful pool with them and Derby, the darling Australian shepherd. Poolside, I had close-up experiences with a Toucan, a very busy 3-toed sloth (believe it or not!), and a family of howler monkeys making their way through the trees. Unbelievable. There is so much to do and see in this area, and Highway 34 is a magnificent road in perfect condition. Calle Escaleras, off of which Osa Vista Acres/Casa Vista is located, is as challenging and Diane and Peter advise you --- do rent a 4WD SUV. It is in fact mandatory! You get used to the road -- it's only 3 kms from Hwy 34. I can't say enough --- book your visit now and you'll be fighting me for rebookings!"

  • Paradise

"I have stayed in this house three times over 6 years. The first, my now husband and I fell in love. The second, we brought all our loved ones and had our wedding. And we just returned to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. To say that it's special to us, is an understatement. But for the sake of this review, I will try and leave my obsession for this home aside. THE HOUSE: The house itself rests right on the beach. You will spend most of your time in the wade-in pool and you can hear the waves while you swim. The pool is the center of the home (you can see in the pictures)--each morning you will open the huge glass and wooden doors to the outside, connecting indoors directly to the outdoors. The grounds are landscaped impeccably. Inside, each of the suites could be their own stand alone living quarters. You have complete privacy, they're hugely spacious and they are romantic and grand. Each opens to the outside. And most importantly, they are all air conditioned (it's hot in Costa Rica!). When we didn't enjoy dinners outside, we would take advantage of the giant dining area and create massive spreads for everyone. After dinner, we would have cocktails at the tiki bar in the house and typically head back to the pool. The house is so customized. The wood comes from the owners teak farm and every detail has been taken into consideration--it just feels so special. LOCATION: Nothing is more than a 5 minute quad ride away, but you feel like you're totally secluded. You can go ziplining right up the road. We always go to the fishing boats to get fresh fish. And we love to stop in and visit friends at the Surf Camp--each time, our guests have taken surf lessons and loved it. You can get a board for the day for (something like) $10. You have tons of restaurants around you! DINING: Mal Pais has amazing food. Our favorite is Mary's. We literally ordered every item on their special board and weren't disappointed with a single dish. The sushi place is great, but the service is pretty lax. There's a new bakery that has amazing coffee and delicious breakfast. There's so many great restaurants on the beach--really you can slip into most places and just have aps and cocktails for very little money and just enjoy the beauty of this place. TIP: You have to have a quad/ 4-wheeler. They're not cheap and you don't want to run out of gas."

  • Great Family Vacation. Unbelievable Views.

"We recently stayed at Casa Celestial during Holy Week 2015. We are a family of 5 with girls 5 y.o., 8 y,o., 10 y.o. and met our friends who brought their 5 y.o. son. The Casa is a special place and the views really are that magnificent. We spent our evenings in the pool swimming and watching the sunset and our mornings having breakfast in the Palapa taking in the view. The house is very comfortable, and with the 8 of us there still felt like there was plenty of room to spare. This is a gated community and felt very safe - which is worth mentioning for people who are bringing their families. The drive from the gate is very steep -- if you are renting a car - make sure you get something with enough "guts" to get up the incline. We grilled fresh fish from the local fish co-op in Tarcoles almost daily. There is a great farmer's market in Jaco once a week on Friday. We had private surf lessons with "The Surfing Factory" in Jaco. These guys were great, and I specifically recommend Luis, who was great with the kids. An incredible week , we already started planning our return visit for next year."

  • The best lemonade ever!!

"After our daughter's wedding got cancelled, we were looking for some place where we could make lemonade out of lemons. And boy, did we! First off, Chloe was great to work with, answering all of our questions, giving suggestions about various activities, and giving practical advice about how to get around, where to buy groceries, rent a car, etc. We were a group of 11 adults and 3 children. The Oceana house was perfect for us. In addition to the beautiful view and breezes, we loved the pool, the covered patio, and the soccer field. We decided to use the driver and van rather than rent our own van and we were thrilled with that service. Our driver, Ronald, was fabulous. Always on time, patient and helpful. We all fit in one van - car seats and all. We did rent a smaller car which was helpful for runs to the store or for shuttling people/babies to and from the beach. We used the catering service for two of our meals. It was so nice to come back to a delicious and plentiful meal after a day of activities. Chloe introduced us to some local women she uses as babysitters who spoke English and Spanish. They were so good with the children. Chloe made the reservations for activities that catered to our needs. We wanted more adventure than the standard tourist activities so our activities included a class IV river rafting run, the Superman zip line in addition to the canopy zip line, surfing, hiking to Tres Pilas and then cliff jumping into the pools, and going on the Rain Maker night tour in the jungle. Daniel, Chloe's husband, and his friends were excellent surf instructors who even climbed the coconut trees and gave us all agua de pipa to drink. Our biggest frustration was that some of the activities took longer than expected primarily because of drive time. With small children this was hard. Also, some of the activities included meals which we didn't realize until we got to the activity. This trip was the adventure of a life time. We'd love to come again and will stay at Pura Vida if we do. Thank you Chloe and Daniel. You're the best!!"
