  • Great house and location along the Pacific

"After spending two weeks in this lovely home in a charming neighborhood in a great location we couldn't agree more with all that was said in previous reviews. AND watching sunsets over the Pacific a real plus. Very friendly neighbors, guards and locals. Only drawback for us was that during most of our stay the heat and humidity made for three shower days. Aside from that our stay was a very enjoyable experience."

  • A beautiful home away from home

"Our family came to sample as much of Costa Rica as we could in 8 days time. We began with some days in the rain forest near Arenal and then spent some days at this wonderful home near Perditta. We couldn't have chosen better! Though it is a few kilometers off of the beaten path (something we find to be a must!), it had, within 20-30 minutes: access to a good sized town, a beautiful adventure at a waterfall, a canopy tour, surfing beaches and quiet beaches. Right onsite were the options to ride their private horses or just relax at poolside and enjoy the sunset. For practical features: The kitchen is modern, fully equipped and will accommodate cooking for a large group. There is a first floor bedroom as well as a beautiful master and two more bedrooms upstairs. The bathrooms are clean and modern and have good water pressure. The icing on the cake?: Randy and Claudia were just great folks!"

  • Living with Nature in the Rain Forest

"Our family stayed at Brooks Hacienda for a week over the 2014 Thanksgiving holiday and had a wonderful trip. As other reviews have stated, this is a great location to see the rainforest and wildlife right from the deck and poolside. During our stay we were able to see and hear all types of monkeys and birds with a beautiful backdrop of the rainforest preserve in the backyard. We prefer to stay in a quieter, more relaxing place away from the crowded resorts, so we found Brooks Hacienda to be the perfect spot. The pool is great and all the features of the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroooms are very nice. The house was very clean and the beds are comfortable. Laundry facilities are also available. This is the first time that we have rented a place where the owners were so close by, and we found it very helpful to have Randy and Kate available for questions when we needed it. Kate hooked us up with a great guide for a day trip to the Manuel Antonio Preserve and a jungle canopy tour that included ziplining, swimming at a waterfall, horseback riding in the mountains, and a Costa Rican style lunch at Santa Juana, a small village high in the mountains. This was the best day trip and tour experience that our family has ever been on. Both tours picked us up and dropped us off at the house, so it was very convenient. Kate and Randy really went out of their way to make sure our family had a great experience and had everything we need. Kate even picked up some groceries ahead of time for us since we were arriving late. She also had great recommendations for local restaurants and we found Cafe Milagro, Emilio's Cafe, El Lagarto, and El Wagon Pizza to be very good. We would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road is a little rough to get to the house, and it is nice to have if you want to explore any beaches or other activities that are off the main roads. This is a quiet neighborhood, so if you are looking for a party spot, this probably would not be the best fit. We can't wait to come back....Pura Vida!"

  • Excelent accomodation in Santa Teresa

"The Plaza Royal hotel is very comfortable, fully airconditioned and very affordable. . The main room, the badroom and the bathroom are large, modern and equiped with stylish furnitures, One can really feel at home. It is located at walking distance from the central beach of Santa Teresa, close to cafe, shops and supermarket area and in walking distance from the "Banana beach" a bar/restaurant on the sea shore with music and good atmosphere. The owner Malli was very friendly and helpfull. In my next visit to Costa Rica and Santa Teresa I will definitely book my stay once again at Plaza Royal"
