  • Nature Lovers Dream

"If there is "heaven on earth" this is the place! The property surrounding this home is what made this such a memorable vacation for us. I can tell you that the pictures of the interior of the home itself are completely accurate. We had my sister-in-law with us for a portion of our trip, and the layout of the two poolside bedrooms on opposite sides of the home, each with their own bathrooms were great for our individual privacy. There are ceiling fans in every room, and I can honestly say that having just the fans (no A/C) was enough to keep us comfortable. Don't let the lack of A/C keep you from considering this home. Now for the backyard...Danielle has done a masterful job in creating a true "Garden of Eden" experience. My sister-in-law and I would lay in the pool and marvel at the variety of flowering plants, and it seemed like every day we'd discover something we hadn't noticed before! The current pictures of the outside of the property could use updating as it's so much more lush than what is pictured. The is a fantastic flowering white bougainvillea over the covered patio leading to the pool, there is a bright yellow hibiscus-type flowering vine that is running up and along the the pool-side barbeque area. I could go on, and on. The lush garden (I keep using the word "lush", but it's so true) invites countless varieties of birds - imagine waking each morning to them singing to each other! We even saw a lizard eating the red hibiscus at the far back of the property, and there was an iguana that liked to hang by the pool and sun himself. We did not experience any mosquitoes like one of the reviews commented on. As a matter of fact, we slept with only the mosquito netting over the bedroom door at night, and left the kitchen and living room doors open all day, neither of which have screens. We never so much as saw one bug in the house. A note on Jaco itself - the three of us found that the walk to the beach took us about 25 mins one-way. There is a little tienda about a block from the entrance to the subdivision (barrio), and a great fruit market about 2 blocks beyond that. Further down the road is a bakery that has fantastic bread that we bought fresh daily. The Caribbean restaurant at the entrance to the barrio is a winner as well! Rebecca is a very personable and welcoming manager, and was always available when we had questions for her. From the first day to the last, we enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back next year!"

  • Excellent location

"We were at El Encanto in february for two weeks. We loved our stay there, the condo was clean and the kitchen very well equipped with a lot of pots and pans.An important point for us because we loved cooking .Really enjoy the swimming pool ,small but very nice. The place is at walking distance of everything, large groceries stores, restaurants, shops and bars but far enough to be quiet. We really enjoy Jaco and the proximity of the park Carrara and Manuel Antonio.Taxi from the condo to Jaco is less than $2.00 and there is a very good service by city bus to go to the Herradura beach in 20 minutes for 50 cents Curt and Dinah are very friendly and a good source of information. We appréciate the picking and dropping at the airport. We felt safe and we were like at home in Jaco and at El Encanto. Thanks at both of you.We will tell friends and be back for sure. Richard and Lydia from city of Québec,Canada"

  • Great location and experience

"Had a great holiday vacation. Very nice condo with easy beach access. Just far enough away from the in-town New Years Eve craziness, but close enough to walk to dinner. Gary was very helpful in planning our activities too."

  • Lovely Condo with Beautiful View

"We stayed a week mid-February. If you want a condo on Jaco, this is a very good choice. The condo was very clean and the beds comfortable. We could go to bed early and never were disturbed by noise. The view from the main area beautiful and the location on the beach very nice as it is not crowed at all. Diamente Del Sol is on the beach in downtown Jaco, so there is no real need for a car for shopping and going out to eat. We rented a car in San Jose as we knew we wanted to drive to Quepos and Playa Herredura for fishing etc. If we had it to do over we would have taken the shuttle from the airport and rented a car in Jaco as needed. Jaco is not very large, consisting of a main street and a block or 2 up or down from the main street. The Diamente Del Sol is about midway on the beach, a bit to the north. The south part of the beach is the best swimming, but is also the older part of town (with an area for sale, building torn down but graffiti wall fence) and more locals and surfers come to the beach and park their cars on the beach as the rip tide is less so swimming a surfing is better (All beaches are public in Costa Rica.) We thought it nicer to be north. The pool and first floor is constructed so it is several feet above the beach level. This is very nice as when there is a car on the beach, one‘s view from the pool is mostly over the car and looking at the remainder of the beach, the palms and the ocean. Diamente Del Sol is made up of 2 towers. The 2 bedroom units are all the center unit with a 3 bedroom unit on either side. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on the 3rd floor. The view was lovely with the beach, palms and ocean. I agree with other reviewers if you have a 3 bedroom unit, you want to be at least on the 4th or 5th floor so you can see thru the thick palms, vegetation or buildings on the sides. The 3 bedroom units also have side views. The view from the back is not as appealing as the beach. One downside is the 2 bedroom units have both bedrooms at the back which face into the open hallway. One can see thru the open air hallway to the back of the condo, but if either neighbor walked out of their condo they could see into the bedroom…so one keeps the drapes closed. Note, not a big deal but nice to know, the condo comes with bare minimum supplies.. one hotel size soap in the 3 bathrooms,1 hotel size shampoo in 2 bathrooms, one dishwasher soap pellet, 2 kitchen trash bags, one sponge and surprisingly an ample supply of hand dishwashing"
