  • Returning Home . . .

"I am and will continue to be a repeat guest at Casa De Paraiso. If you've read any of the other reviews, I truly believe that I and others have captured the true essence of this beautiful vacation getaway home located among the authentic and genuine Costa Ricans. From the moment I arrived I felt as if I were returning home, welcomed by Patri, Gino, his wife Maria and their family, along with others from the village. The house is furnished with everything you could need to truly feel that you are in your own home away from home. You can simply relax and vacation without having to go anyplace else or you can make this beautiful house and surrounding village your base as there are many activities and tours nearby. The only negative I can think of is that my time there is always too short and this year I had to leave my sweet Callie, a beautiful calico kitten I rescued, behind. Although I know she is in the best of hands with Patri looking after her."

  • Excellent home and accommodations.

"Excellent home and accommodations, great neighborhood. I went with my family and my parents for 5 days, and have a really good time. The swimming pool is great we wanted to be there all the time. The house is very cleaned, excellent decoration, great appliances. We loved the BBQ area and the garden. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Danielle and Rebeca are really good people, a really good welcome and also pending of our necessities. We really loved Danielle's hospitality. Absolutely, we will come back again!"

  • House near Tarcoles

"There were 8 adults on this trip. 4 stayed stayed in this house and 4 next door. We had a very relaxing time. We were looking for affordable lodging, not a 4 star resort or motel/hotel. We wanted to be immersed in the culture of Costa Rica. We felt very safe and secure here. The locals were all very friendly. Sure wish we spoke Spanish. These houses fit the bill. The houses were clean and bedrooms were air conditioned. A problem with a water heater and an air conditioner were fixed right away. In the 2 story only 1 main shower was working. We made do without the other 2 so never mentioned it. There is a fish camp next to one of the houses. It was interesting watching them as they headed out and returned each day. Patri did an absolutely wonderful job at taking care of our every need. We enjoyed coffee every morning with the Macaws and Frigates and local dogs. They seemed to know we were dog lovers and were waiting for us every morning when we stepped outside. Walked the beach a few times everyday. You won't want to swim here. Very rocky and the commercial shrimpers come too close to shore and keep the water stirred up. There is swimming a short walk away. We used the pools everyday. Tarcoles is a small fishing village. It is a close enough walk via beach, at low tide, or road for supplies. If you walk the beach you will encounter the boat "yard" where the locals mend nets and fix boats. We also took the bus to Heradura and Jaco a few times. Another reviewer mentioned how the trucks using their jake brakes was a problem. Yes you can hear them but actually this did not bother us. Very much enjoyed meeting Gino and Maria form Tico Style Tours, Gilbreth, of Jaco Travels and Herra and his family who kept up the grounds and pool. Herra brought us different local fruits each day from his garden. What a joy that was trying fruits we had never heard of before. Being so close to the ocean and being able to hear it at night was so relaxing. We grilled fresh fish and shrimp from the fish coop. We had a very good time. Thanks again to Patri for helping make this a memorable vacation."

Jaco Travel Tips

Jaco Beach Rentals in a Sleepy Beach Town

Jaco was once the archetypal beach town where you would find surfers lining the waves, others sleeping on the beach, and more walking around shirtless in just board shorts. Once word got out about hidden area and the surfing to be found there, Jaco Beach rentals became premiere destinations. Surfers from all over the world spend weeks at Jaco resorts to ride the high waves.

Vacations in Costa Rica at Jaco Beach are usually in Puntarenas Province on the Pacific Coast. Jaco is in central Costa Rica less than two hours from San Jose.

Jaco Resorts for International Surfing

Surfing is what draws most tourists to Jaco resorts, yet the town does not lack fun. There are several bars, restaurants, and places to visit but on the whole, vacations in Costa Rica to Jaco are all about the surfing. The waves are high and unyielding which means swimming is dangerous and riptides frequent the waters. However, for those who do not surf, Jaco beach rentals can still be great places to visit.

Vacations in Costa Rica at Playa Hermosa and Herradura

It is true that Jaco's water is less than perfect for swimming but Playa Hermosa and Playa Herradura which are within six miles of Jaco are great for swimming. Playa Hermosa has an international surf convention each year and Playa Herradura is another top surf beach. Both the beaches are great for sunbathing, horseback riding, and enjoying the view of the Pacific Ocean. Vacations in Costa Rica can also be about eco-tourism with canopy tours, jungle trips, and hiking if you want to get away from the beach for a while.

When to Visit Jaco Beach Rentals

The best time to visit Jaco beach rentals is from January to April. These months offer the driest season. September and October are the rainiest months which you might want to avoid if you really want to see and experience Costa Rica. At other times of the year, the rainfall can come and go so you can expect to find Jaco resorts somewhat busy.
