  • Costa Rican Home away from Home

"This was our second stay in 2 years at Sendros de Paz. My boyfriend and I love this property and the Playa Manzanillo area. We visited last year and stayed in the Villa next to Villa Pochote. Both Villas are really awesome they have all the amenities of home only your in a beautiful jungle paradise. Since our visit last year the owner Trey has added on a beautiful Yoga Shala with a view of the ocean. The property it's self is really beautiful filled with all the regional plants and trees which are home to a number of Iguana's, Birds and Monkeys. Another new addition was a beautiful swim up bar which was great to relax by in the evenings. Trey is a great host and is always there to help with all the exciting activities the area has to offer. He booked our zip line tour, provided personal paddle board lessons in the estuary and in the surf, as well as teaching us hand line fishing costa rican style. I highly recommend this property for those who love adventure and to be away from the more crowded areas of the Southern Nicoya Peninsula such as Mal Pais and Santa Teresa. Yet it's not are too far if you want to go there for some night life, shopping or activities. We also highly recommend the restaurant Dayka which is a couple of miles north of the property, great food, drinks and pool after a long day of ATV riding. Can't wait to go back next year."

  • Fabulous property with amazing view

"This property has everything you could want in a rental property - amenities, comfort, privacy, and last but not least, an absolutely stunning view. Villa Katino is two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and is located atop a hill that overlooks the beaches of Mal Pais and St. Teresa. Although the drive up it steep (4-wheel drive required), the view and the privacy makes it all worthwhile. There is a restaurant at the bottom of the hill (Mary's) which we ate at multiple times on the trip. We loved making breakfast and having our coffee on the patio. It was nice having our own pool and hot tub, and we even viewed a family of monkeys right outside our door. The property owner - Tino - is a very gracious and obliging host. He helped us set up surf lessons, massages at the property, a fishing expedition, and a ziplining tour. It was an easy drive from the property to those activities, as well as to bars/restaurants and grocery stores. Tino even met us at the grocery when we arrived in town to make sure we were able to get everything we needed for our stay. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family. It was clean and well-maintained. We count our stay here as one of our favorite trips ever. Do yourself a favor and book your stay now."

  • Paradise Found

"We stayed at Casa Teka for 5 days and we had a truly amazing experience. This beautiful home is close enough to town, but far away from the traffic. The only sounds you can hear is the ocean waves crashing on a tranquil beach only steps away and the monkeys and exotic birds playing in the mango trees throughout the lush green garden setting surrounding the property. The large open outdoor deck lets you be one with nature as you sit within the tree canopy. The local market one block away has all the food essentials and supplies that you would need and Mary's restaurant (walking distance) is a great place to treat yourself to dinner. I would recommend Casa Teka for a family vacation, romantic getaway, surf/fishing trip, or anyone who wants to have an authentic Costa Rican experience. The manager Pia took great care of us and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Pura vida."

  • Wild kingdom on steroids

"We stayed for 8 days at Villa Cocobolo above the tiny village of Manzanillo. From our first glimpse of the gates "Senderos de Paz," trails of peace, we thought we had arrived at a tropical Eden. The Villa exceeded all expectations, lovely wood and tile work, comfortable, and well-equipped. The first morning we were awakened by a troop of howler monkeys, the alpha male's favorite tree was a cashew just off our upstairs balcony. In the subsequent days we saw several different troops of howlers and capuchins, bright green parrots and other tropical birds, red squirrels, and numerous species of colorful butterflies. One evening as we watched the sun plunge into the Pacific from our pool deck a small troop of howlers with several babies were just above us and joined us in saluting the peaceful, rosy sunset. The pool was a wonderful place to hang out and a welcome antidote to the heat. The Villa offers easy access to wide, glorious, untrammeled beaches at Manzanillo and Playa Hermosa and is only a short drive to bustling Santa Teresa. Four wheel drive is highly recommended for the steep surrounding hills. It was also a good base for excursions to Montezuma and Cabo Blanco for great hikes to a waterfall and in the tropical jungle respectively. The owner of Villa Cocobolo, Trey, and his gracious helpers Kaenar and Maelen made our stay homey with their kindness and attention to detail. Our experience was sensational and we highly recommend this property."

Malpais Area Travel Tips

Beautiful Tranquil Mal Pais Beach Rentals

While Mal Pais is a smaller village of Costa Rica in Puntarenas Province, each year tourists find it is one of the best holiday destinations. A tranquil tiny village will welcome you to Mal Pais Beach rentals, which are spread over three kilometers of road. Your vacations in Costa Rica should include the Cabo Blanco Natura Reserve a few minutes north of Mal Pais resorts.

Mal Pais Resorts Help You Learn to Surf

The largest city near Mal Pais resorts is Santa Teresa, where nightlife, shops, and a hot surfing scene will welcome you. Mal Pais is noted as one of the top surfing destinations for vacations in Costa Rica but typically Santa Teresa offers the bigger surf scene. Waves can be a little inconsistent; however, the cove near Mal Pais Beach rentals helps create larger waves for the expert surfer.

Vacations in Costa Rica on Nicoya Peninsula

Characteristics of Mal Pais are historically significant because the rocky shoreline was formed by volcanoes in the past. Some of the most strange volcanic creations provide fascinating scenery around Mal Pais resorts. Much of Mal Pais has retained an unspoiled appearance with old forests running along the beaches. If you have time during your vacations in Costa Rica, you will want to take a cruise around Nicoya Peninsula just to see the beauty from another perspective.

Mal Pais Beach Rentals near an Aquatic Nursery

Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve is a nursery for numerous aquatic species. From a boat tour, you can watch dolphins, manta rays and whales. On land at the reserve are canopy tours and horseback rides. These tours take you around the jungle, pointing out species of plants and animals that live in the forests. After a day of sightseeing, your Cabo Blanco Mal Pais Beach rentals will be waiting for you to relax in.
