  • Perfect place for 2 or larger groups

"My husband and I spent a week at Jungle Creek and loved every minute of it. The location was just right for us; far enough away from road noise and hustle & bustle yet close enough to be able to walk in the evening to a few restaurants/bars. The owners (Paula & Clark) live on site and offer a perfect balance between guest privacy and helpful advice. They offer an additional service of booking any day trips you may want to do, they use reputable companies and are able to negotiate good rates. This is very unusual for holiday rentals and the service was brilliant. We stayed in the room called Gekko which is an extremely large studio which was just perfect for us. It was very spacious, comfortable and clean. After about 3 days a cleaner cleaned the room and supplied fresh towels which was also unexpected for a rental. Overall we were extremely happy with our stay at Jungle Creek and the only negative point about our stay was that we had to leave. If we are ever in Costa Rica again, we would definitely stay here again."

  • Family friendly vacation home

"Stunning architecture, simple but functional interior design, breathtaking views of coast and sunset. Hammocks on the porch, nice size jacuzzi, gas grill, outdoor dining perfectly located on a hilltop with a constant nice breeze and surrounding wildlife. Jean, the owner, did not only make sure we had all we needed and expected but was also a great resource for local tours and events. We were very happy with our accomodation and will likely be back in the near future. PS: ..and YES, you can hear some wildlife around the house, even at night because it is so quiet but that is one of the reasons we chose Manuel Antonio and not a desert. Thanks Jean!!"

  • Stunning views

"Had a great time in this property at the start of green season. We did have some unbelievable thunderstorms (according to the caretaker, Bismark, the worst he's heard in 40 years), but everything was very nice and exactly as described, so read carefully. Some notes: - the view is gorgeous--this is what sold me on the property and we weren't disappointed in the least. As a bonus, we were treated to daily sightings of toucans and capuchin monkeys. They literally play in the trees & garden between the house and the road. There's lots of other wildlife. You'll wake up to the howler monkeys for sure. - there are a lot of steps to climb up & down. There's a pulley system to help with luggage, but you'll be going up & down steps a lot. - when in doubt, ask. Bismark's entire family is VERY helpful. We had a few bad sunburns; we able to help ourselves to some aloe growing in the garden and were given some aloe-based creme. It's so nice having someone nearby to keep in eye on things and to answer questions. - the beaches are nice--Playa Biesanz is more protected (no riptides) if you have smaller children. We actually drove to the entrance way and parked on the road--it's all up-hill coming back and we wanted the kids to have energy for other stuff. - the balconies banisters are somewhat low and the floor boards are spaced kind of far apart. It's nice but something you might want to consider with kids. - Since we did arrive in green season, it's worth mentioning that although it was somewhat hot, we didn't have any issues with bugs or mosquitoes or anything. There were some gnats in the bathroom sink each morning for whatever reason, but we didn't have any issues with biting insects. We had fans that worked well (we moved the big one downstairs to the 2nd bedroom where the kids slept; that solved that problem). - the kitchen was fine and exactly. The refrigerator/freezer worked well. There's no oven, but I honestly don't want to start up an oven when I'm vacationing in the summer in the tropics. There were dishes and pots & pans, toaster, coffee maker, etc. and those all worked fine. The outdoor shower was really good to clean up after a day at the beach. Also--it's hard not to look at the other non-5 star review... but in my opinion you can't compare properties in Manuel Antonio to Arenal any more than you can compare a mountain lodge in Colorado to a beach house in Hawaii."

  • Best balcony view around, fast comp. internet, reasonably priced, clean

"My husband and I just got back from a wonderful 1-week stay at this villa. Really, we couldn't have asked for anything more - from the beautiful view right from your super sized balcony, to the nice pool, to the complimentary wifi and cold AC - we were more than pleased with everything. You can tell that the owner takes good care of this property. It is very well-kept and some of the things in it you won't find at any other rental for this price. It is not a large condo, but it is much larger than your typical hotel room and, more importantly, it has all of the essentials for 2 people, including a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, LCD TV with satellite connection, a digital safe in the closet, plenty of hangers for your closet, hair dryer in the bathroom. The linen, pillows and mattress were newer, which was very nice to have. We travel quite often and know what's out there, so believe me this is a super deal for what you get. Personally, I loved the tropical vegetation of the rainforest right outside your balcony. We also liked the amazing ocean views also right from your own balcony. If you look out into the rainforest, you will see monkeys, specially in the afternoon hours. We saw a bunch of white-face monkeys as well as titi monkeys. We didn't rent a car so ended up taking $3 taxi ride to Quepos - very easy and there are lots of them around. There is also a bus stop - going in both directions-right out-front. It goes by every 30 minutes and every 15 minutes during lunch hours. It is centrally located so you don't need a car. You can walk pretty much everywhere. In the afternoons, we walked to the local super market, which was right next door and we bought fresh vegetables and fish. The super market is small but you can find pretty much anything you can think of. That was very nice, indeed. If you are booking a tour, you have many to choose from, all of which can be planned for once you check-in at the on-site rental office. All tours will get picked up and dropped off right outside your condo. The beach was a pleasant 20 minute walk. If you don't like to walk, you can pick up the bus right outside the property and you'll be at the beach and the Manuel Antonio National Park in less than 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is interested in the conveniences of staying in a condo versus a hotel, at a great reasonable rate, with a million dollar view, and an owner who really makes sure you have a pleasant stay."
