  • Comfortable Jungle Retreat

"Just returned from excellent vacation to Manuel Antonio region of Costa Rica. The location of this house was excellent -- close to park, beaches, and many excellent restaurants. All five of us (53,52,22,22,16) enjoyed the space of this house and having three bedrooms all with king size beds and all three with attached bathrooms (sink, mirror, shower). Tons of windows in the house, plus the deck and pool area provided excellent views of birds, butterflies, monkeys, iguanas, and geckos. One evening over a dozen monkeys were swinging in the trees "chatting" with us right off of the main deck. All sorts of interesting and large "resident" iguanas that we saw daily on driveway or by pool, plus a giant green iguana in the trees off the deck one morning. Natalia (concierge) and Mrs Flor (cook/housekeeper) were both very friendly. Our average day: coffee on the deck overlooking the forest, breakfast at Cafe Milagro or Emilios, daily activity (beach, park), late afternoon swim, shower, and then off to dinner. Enjoyed our dinners at: Cafe Milagro, Victorias, La Luna, Mirador. The first evening, we pre-arranged for Mrs Flor to prepare dinner for us -- excellent mahi mahi dinner with salad, vegetables, potatoes, and dessert. All of the Costa Rican people we interacted with were extremely friendly. Lastly, we really appreciated having separate air conditioning units in each bedroom as well as the main floor."

  • One only word..."PERFECT!!!"

"Since the reservation call till the departure, our time in the house was just perfect. Heather, Josue and Roxana they made us feel so respected and loved that honestly we hesitate several times on left the house and we want to keep it for one more week. This is a very private space, warm and made it for fun and family, on the middle of a private reserve, we enjoyed the coffee in the mornings watching the monkeys crossing at 300 feet from us, really near of lot of facilities, quiet and private, clean and the house keeper is so worried to provide the best service and be there for all your needs. From now on this will be my only stay place in Manuel Antonio."

  • Lovely privacy, pool, and great concierges!

"We were here for five days escaping from the snow in Boston. Sabrina, one of the concierges, helped us set up surfing lessons for two 20 year olds and for our 8 year old kids. They had a great two hours learning with Rogelio. Then we had a tour of the national park on the next day--I would only suggest in the future that you try to get there as soon as the park opens in the morning--it was pretty busy and then very hot. Our guide Jason was great, we enjoyed the wildlife spotting and a swim at the beach to wrap it up. Yes, the monkeys did steal some of our food. Smart little dudes. The third day we went ziplining--also set up by Sabrina. Great tour and lots of fun. Highly recommended for anyone not afraid of heights (one of the kids backed out at the last minute and he spent the two hours getting a tour of the butterfly garden and feeding the basilisk lizard. He was fine). We spent the other two days just wandering the beaches--the main one that is down the hill and also the one near Shana Resort. I think it is called Biesatz or something. The house has lots of info on where to go, what to see and restaurants to go to. The other concierge Geralyn helped us get taxis and reservations at the various places for lunch and dinner. Barba Roja was our favorite. We relied on taxis for the most part and the bus. The house is located downhill from most of the restaurants so we walked up and taxied down. It is uphill from the beach and we usually walked down and then took the bus back up and then walked downhill from the bus stop. What a wonderful place--and the small house pool was awesome--perfect temperature and size for an afternoon cool down. Highly recommended."

  • Just right

"My wife and I spent six nights at this garden apartment. We did not have a car and relied on the local bus and walking to go everywhere. The bus runs regularly and takes just minutes to ge to Quepos or Manuel Antonio National Park or anywhere in between. There were excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. I recommend cocktails at La Luna watching the sun set over the Pacific. It is even a pleasant hike down the back road to Quepos. The apartment was a cool basement apartment with its own patio hammock right by an extensive garden. Modest but everything worked. The pool was as pictured. There were even macaws one evening."
