  • Even better than the pictures

"This home is nestled within the jungle... right in the middle of town! The view of the ocean is just breathtaking and the huge patio is worth the stay here alone! We had such a lovely time here. The house floorplan is unique in that the downstairs is completely separate from the upstairs. Each night we had to "lock" the kids into the downstairs... then we locked ourselves into the upstairs unit. Fortunately they never needed us in the middle of the night... Emilio's restaurant is just next door and absolutely has the best breakfast in town. Activity-wise, we spent a half-day in the Manuel Antonio Park which was wonderful. We also took a jungle cruise through the mangroves (the monkeys jumped on the boat and ate bananas out of our hands!), went parasailing (awesome), and Ricky arranged for a lovely half-day catamaran cruise where we all went snorkeling, saw dolphins, and they grilled fish kabobs on board. All of our kids (ages 4-11) were thrilled! The kids couldn't wait to get into the pool each day. One day we came home to six Capuchin monkeys dancing all over the property, and the morning we left there was a massive iguana on the patio staring at us! Our only complaint is the ants - the house is infested. Even our ipads charging in the corner of the bedrooms were covered in ants at one point. I understand this is the rainforest / jungle and Ricky says they spray for them, but the ants were definitely annoying. It would also be nice if more than two rolls of toilet paper were included and also hand/body soap for the sinks / shower. We had to take time to go shopping for these items. Even so, I'm sure we'll be back oneday!"

  • Fabulous living with amazing views

"Our first reaction when we walked in was ..... WOW, What an awesome place. The condo was spacious, relaxed and very well appointed. The bathrooms were spacious with instant hot water and good pressure. Washer/Dryer in the condo made us feel right at home. We loved to spend our mornings on the grand balcony watching and listening to the abundant wildlife. Our highlight one morning was watching two Red Iguanas in what we think was a mating ritual high in the tree canopy. To see nature in it's raw form truly was amazing. The pool down in common area was refreshing. The staff, Eilyn and Martha were extremely friendly and accommodating. Gracias! The daily maid service was excellent. Public transportation was literally right in front of condo. Our favorite restaurant was a "100ft journey". You can't go wrong with this condo. It's centrally located to Quepos and Manuel Antonio Park not to mention the beaches. We look forward to our return and exploring the countryside. Jeff&Gary"

  • 1st Class Accomodations

"My sister and I just spent 5 days at Tulemar and loved it!! The hotel grounds were beautiful and the accommodations were outstanding. We stayed in Mot Mot Upper level which was very spacious with great views and large balcony. There were monkeys swinging on the trees in front of our bungalow, and we had monkeys visit us on our balcony. We saw plenty of birds, butterflies, and frogs from our bungalow as well. The bungalow itself had a bedroom on one side and sitting room and kitchen with table and chairs on the other side (a wall split the two sides). The bathroom could be entered from either the bedroom or sitting room. The beds were comfortable and there was also a trundle bed/couch in the sitting room. The hotel is set in a jungle setting, so the grounds were beautiful. There were monkeys and sloths in the trees. We saw a mother and baby sloth in the tree by the pool. There was always something interesting to see. Our bungalow was by the adult pool and restaurant, so we were in a convenient location. The beach was about a 5 - 1- minute walk or you could take the shuttle. The service was 1st class. The staff at Tulemar were extremely helpful and friendly. They were always willing to help. Julien organized our transportation from San Jose to Tulemar as well as my sister's boat tour. The van that picked us up from our San Jose hotel was right on time (a little early). The driver was friendly and stopped after an hour or so for drinks and a restroom break. Willie was also amazing with setting up tours, helping us with our safe and driving us to the beach. The restaurant staff (Frederick) were very accommodating. I'm a difficult eater, but they always prepared something I could eat. We chose to eat in our room or at the hotel, but there were also several restaurants within walking distance. A supermarket was also a few blocks from the hotel. A must stay!"

  • Best way to experience Cost Rica!

"The home is very comfortable and spacious. The views are incredible. From talking to others, I can tell you that this is the best way to experience Costa Rica - in a more secluded, private home. There are tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance, but you feel really close to nature and not other houses or hotels. (And the local grocery store delivers!) We saw all kinds of wildlife. Monkeys and sloths were our favorites. Can't say enough good things about the concierge and house staff. They went way above and beyond our expectations. Fishing and zip-lining were both great, but so were walking in the rain and watching the lightning storms from the top deck! We travelled with one other family and 3 teenagers. There was something for all of us and lots of special memories, too! Can't wait to go back."
