"We recently returned from our fourth stay at Casa Mono Congo and it never fails to be magical. The location is perfect for visiting Manuel Antonio National Park as well as many fine dining establishments in the area. However, nothing can compare to the actual experience at the house itself. On our first evening, we were visited by about twenty or thirty titi monkeys, many with babies. They swung through the trees and played on the roof and patio right next to us. As the sun began to set, a group of about fifteen howler monkeys moved into the trees right above the pool and checked us out until dark. The following day we were visited by a sloth and a band of capuchin monkeys. They put on a show for us and three of them played on the balcony above the pool for about tweny minutes. The following days were more of the same. The house itself is absolutely perfect for any group or family. It has three floors, four air-conditioned bedrooms and five full baths. The top floor has a wet bar with a beautiful view of the ocean and rain forest. It also has all of the modern conveniences while still maintaining a very eco-friendly environment. Terry and Pete are great hosts and they always go the extra mile to be sure everything you could need for a perfect vacation is provided. The house manager Mikol is the absolute best we've ever seen. He can recommend great restaurants, tours and out of the way local spots as well. He is extremely professional and immediately responsive to any questions or requests. For larger groups, they also own the house below, Casa Mono Titi, which is beautifully furnished with it's own pool and offers additional privacy as well. If you are visiting the Manuel Antonio area, you can't get a better location to enjoy the true Costa Rica experience than Casa Mono Congo. We will be back for a fifth visit as soon as possible."Guest: Martin & Mary Jo Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 20, 2014View listing
"We had such a great vacation @ this beautiful home. The layout was perfect for our two families (6 kids, 4 adults). The setting was incredibly peaceful, beautiful and convenient. We so appreciated the cleanliness and comfort of the home. Our families switched rooms mid-week so that everyone could enjoy the benefits of each room! We took full advantage of the pool. We had Katia and Carmen cook for us and we were so glad - they accommodated even the pickiest eater (me - vegetarian) and were kind and gracious. We LOVED our trip to Costa Rica! I highly recommend this property."Guest: Angie Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: July 9, 2014View listing
"We were a family of 8 travelling from Canada... 4 daughters aged 12 to 23, son-in-law and boyfriend, plus my wife and I. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The listing was not accurate....because the pictures don't do it justice! Unbelievable size, layout, comfort, etc. and what a view. The monkeys came by most days and the weather was perfect. Absolutely perfect. We were very comfortable with 8 people ...and there was room for more. Alex is excellent in his organizing of all our activities. We tried the horse back riding, repelling, national park tour and catamaran sail. All highly recommended. He organizes for pick up and drop off at the front door. Local restaurants were excellent too. Although cab drivers told us the walk to the beach was either "too long or too dangerous (due to traffic)", we walked it every day without problem. It was a great way to get some exercise after spending a day at the beach. Another thing Alex did was organize an on-site meal provided by a local chef (Kukula?). It was one of the best meals we have ever had, and we do a lot of travelling. We didn't rent a car, as the local grocery store was within walking distance, as were the restaurants, and we didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the beach. We flew to San Jose, and Alex organized the 2 1/2 trip for pick up and drop off at the end of the stay. The house was cleaned every day (we didn't realize that), and there are laundry facilities on site. We definitely over-packed. This is a flip flop and short/swim suit vacation. We didn't need to wear a sweater at any time during our stay. We will go back and I recommend this for families, couples, etc. The only caution I would have is for those with small children. The building code is no where near the restrictions that we have in Canada, and as such, the area around the main floor, infinity pool and stairs may be a safety hazard for small children. For adults, it adds to the beauty of this spectacular place! A+++++ and a 12 on a 1-10 scale. Truly spectatular."Guest: fish007 Date of Stay: February 2014 Review Submitted: February 26, 2014View listing
"We stayed here with our two daughters, ages 14 & 10. What an amazing place! After sharing a hotel room in La Fortuna for 5 nights, it was so nice to stay in this condo and have room to spread out! We also appreciated having a washer (detergent was supplied) and dryer to clean our dirty clothes. The condo is spacious, modern, clean, and comfortable. The view is breathtaking, and the sounds from the birds & other animals are charming. The women at the front desk are so incredibly nice and helpful, and were happy to book our excursions (at no additional cost) for us. There were fresh towels for the pool and beach at the front desk as well. The pool is a bit small, but perfect for cooling off. We loved our stay here! Thanks so much for sharing your amazing condo! :)"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: June 26, 2014View listing
