  • Fabulous Villa Titi

"Just finished up a month at Villa Titi where we rented both floors. From beginning to end it was the perfect trip. John was very easy to deal with and answered all inquiries promptly. When we arrived the check-in went smoothly and the place was even nicer than we expected. It's extremely clean and very well maintained which is quite the challenge in the tropics. The cleaning lady came every other day which was another great perk. If you rent both floors it's ideal for two couples that want to holiday together yet still have privacy with their own bedroom, bathroom and terrace. From the terrace, we saw three types of monkeys, iguanas, morpho butterflies, agoutis and a variety of interesting birds. The units are very well laid out and each comes with a TV. The Wi-Fi worked reliably and we used it for internet phone calls. Although each floor has its own air conditioner, we opted to open the windows and enjoy the breezes. If we wanted cold we could have stayed in Canada!! Rosa is the manager of the unit and was a delight in every way. If you need anything from side trips, restaurant recommendations or transportation to the airport she'll arrange things and you'll not have to worry. The location of the villa is perfect for getting to the beach, restaurants, ATMs and mini-supermarket. The beach is spectacular and you have the option of renting chairs or walking down the beach to find your own piece of paradise in the sun or shade. It's worth taking a day and going to the Manual Antonio National Park. If you like a quieter beach with very small waves I would recommend Biesanz beach. The grounds of the property are beautiful and include three pools. If you're looking for local grocery stores and restaurants head to Quepos. The bus stop is right in front of the complex and costs about sixty cents for a one-way trip. The typical dinner of Costa Ricans is the "casado", which contains either fish, chicken or beef with rice, beans, vegetables and salad. At Soda Sanchez that will cost you about $5.00. For a real local experience, head to Club Banana where Friday night dinner and Karaoke with a bunch of locals is quite fun. Each unit has its own safe which was another plus. There is a new marina with a couple of restaurants which is worth a visit. Also, if you are around on Friday night or Saturday morning, head to the market on the waterfront in Quepos. You can buy lots of fresh produce, cheese and bakery items. The Mennonites make an amazin"

  • first stay hope to return

"This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we feel like we hit the jackpot!! It didn't take long to transition from our fast-paced Washington DC home to this magical and enchanting property. Each morning we woke to the sounds of tropical birds and beautiful vistas. We dipped in the pool throughout the day while gazing at the ocean on the and watching for the resident sloughs and white-chinned monkeys. We were there with two other couples and stayed in the apartment which was fully equipped with a small kitchen, gorgeous tiled bathroom, and beautiful native wood walls. We loved the privacy and could easily join our friends in the main house ( 30 second walk to house door). We felt pampered and had everything we needed. The main house is spectacular - all the rooms were spacious and luxurious. The living and dining rooms are totally glassed allowing constant views of the landscape and ocean. The pool just off the living room is amazing and a popular gathering spot. How glorious to dip in and jump out to the recliners and look at the ocean view or just stay in the water and soak up the sun. In addition to the main pool off the living, there is a smaller pool with a waterfall just outside one of the bedrooms and is accessible thru the sliding doors. It is great for late night dips to relax and unwind. The beaches, stores, restaurants, grocery stores and coffee houses are just down the hill via a nice walk or short car ride. Kent and Estella, the property managers, were very accommodating and helped us plan excursions (zip lining, vanilla farm (great!) and hikes to waterfalls). This is a wondeerful property and we look forward to a return visit."

  • Casa Del Mar at Tulemar

"If you want to go to paradise and depart with a longing to stay knowing you will have a transformative experience this is where you need to go. My wife and I are nature enthusiasts and like to be around people that have a similar "warm and fuzzy" side particularly if it is genuine and sincere. This place gets into your blood immediately upon arrival. From those born to Costa Rica to those who have become expat's the experience is uniformly gracious, caring and service oriented. Our hostess, the great and wonderful Ashley, anticipated our concerns and truly went the extra mile seemingly what she just does naturally. She even arranged a chef on our last evening for an 'in bungalow' feast that rivaled the excellent on site and area restaurants. Chris (the chef) is beyond description. He is personable, a great food educator with world experience, who felt like a natural member of the family as he did on site creations we have not seen. Chris, the eggs diablo were like nothing I have ever partaken! I didn't know you could do that with anchovies! The most disappointing part of Casa Del Mar was leaving. Colleen and I are both psychiatrists and we can find no better antidepressant than the PEOPLE and resort of Casa Del Mar!!! Thank you and Bless You, Ashley, Chris and Dave (and David, our beach concierge, who never played Bocce Ball but is a natural!). We'll be back!!!"

  • Most friendly hotel I have ever been to in my life.

"This is definitely a place for family. It's amazing to see how the hotel and nature lives together. Aside the awesome view, what makes me happy most was the staff. It truly feels like everyone in the resort have their customers at heart. We had our own concierge, Andres - super helpful and friendly. The shuttle driver, Willy was sooooo amazing, he talked to us and showed us wildlife even just for a 1 minute drive. Kiskadee was gorgeous and so well kept. Everything was so comfortable. From the service to the casa, to the wildlife, to the private beach, it was just a great experience. The only drawback that I have is I didn't book longer to stay in Tulemar"
