  • Great Family Holiday Home

"The description of the house and surroundings given in this website, really correspond with what you encounter when you arrive. Because it was a repeat visit for us, we already were familiar with the house and surroundings. The reason we chose to come back is that all 4 children wanted to come back, without hesitation, and we felt that we had not yet explored the entire area to the fullest. Also, last year was our most relaxed holiday ever. The house is very comfortable and spacious enough so that you can be together, or take some distance from each other would you desire to do so. The house is very tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well equipped. With a good internet connection and cellular reach everywhere, you can choose to be connected with " the rest of the world" whenever you want to. It is very child friendly, and the children have a lot of room to explore on their own! With a large pool right in front of the back porch, it is easy to keep an eye on them, while enjoying the spectacular view in the background. The thought that there is someone on the premises night and day, to keep up the property including the pool, nature trail and garden is comforting. We try to take long excursions one day and then stay close to home the next day. On our days around the house, we hike the nature trail down to the waterfall, which is on the premises, we gather fruit from the trees in the garden, have a BBQ and just chill. On the days out, we take a horseback riding tour, which leaves out of Londres, only 5 minutes away, we drive to Manuel Antonio (25 min) for some souvenir shopping and a nice bite to eat, we visit the local market in Quepos, (20 min) on Friday evening and Saturday morning, or we take a bit longer drive (40 min) to the endless and quiet beaches of Matapalo or even further. There are many excursions very close by such as ziplining, rafting, surfing, mangroves, nature park, fishing, you name it, it is available. Mr. Jose, the contact person, is extremely helpful and knows all the nice spots in the area. Summarizing, a great luxurious house, well suited for families with small children, in the middle of the rainforest, with a spectacular view and endless possibilities of tours and beaches just around the corner."

  • A secluded feel in jungle paradise

"Our family of four had an outstanding experience at Tulemar. We booked a bungalow through Dave--it was the least expensive of the lodging options, but comfortable and attractive in every way. Although every home in the resort was booked, it never felt crowded--we often had one of the (clean, well-heated) swimming pools to ourselves. The beach too was uncrowded, with plenty of chairs and towels and boogie boards, and delightfully warm water. The wildlife was perhaps the highlight: monkeys partied on the roof of our bungalow, a sloth slept in a tree right on the beach, and there were colorful birds everywhere. Our concierge Chris was warm and helpful in every regard, taking us grocery shopping and advising us on restaurants and activities. Indeed, all of the staff were friendly and professional. We couldn't have asked for more."

  • This is the casa you're looking for....

"Just spent 10 beautiful days 'on the hill' in Parrita, and want to share how this property/experience is simply superior to others you may be looking at: 1) Logistically speaking, it's near enough to the airport that you're not stuck spending a night in San Jose before and after you arrive in country. The new intercoastal highway makes for an easy commute (no off-roading required). 2) Parrita is a full-service town (gas, groceries, shops, many good restaurants), but it's no tourist trap--it's a small tico town, no drama, no inflated prices. If you WANT to do the touristy stuff, you're sitting right between Jaco and Manuel Antonio/Quepos.... easy drive to either of these spots. 3) Being on the hill means breezes and a surprising lack of bugs. On the hill, we didn't need bug repellent at all, slept with the doors wide open, never saw a mosquito, and the no-see-ums weren't at all obnoxious or aggressive. No need for an air conditioner.... even during the day the breezes kept us cool. 4) Use of Randy's Toyota is a humongous perk; the fact that Randy can come WITH the Toyota is an even bigger perk!! We knocked around a couple times on our own, but for the most part, we had a chauffeur (familiar with tico driving ;-) and tour guide at our disposal for the entire weekend! This is priceless, honestly. We wouldn't have known where to go, what to see, what to do if it hadn't been for Randy and Claudia's "spoiling" us with careful attention during our stay. We'd have had a VERY different vacation without our hosts' recommendations and assistance--not a bad one (sitting around on the veranda and just marveling at the views does NOT get old, and every sunrise and sunset is as gorgeous as the one before). We're glad we got out of the house, though. 5) Honestly cannot stress enough that this location is delightful for its absence of tourist craziness. We walked a 5 mile stretch of beach one day and saw a handful of folks surfing at one beach and NO ONE else for the remainder of the hike. These are gorgeous sandy beaches, and I am still dumbfounded that we had them all to ourselves! 6) You have everything at your fingertips--lounging and relaxing, surfing, hiking, ziplining, horseback riding, fishing, national park, gorgeous beaches, beautiful marina, authentic tico living... You write your own vacation, and Randy and Claudia will make sure it happens for you. Our visit was perfection+; we'll be back again and again."

  • Wonderful tropical paradise

"We had a wonderful time at this mountaintop getaway. The home is a bit remote but once you get there you discover that it is worth the drive. It is large, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful views of the rainforest and all that goes with it. The homeowners did everything possible to ensure we had a wonderful visit and having a chef available made our vacation even more relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely the best of Costa Rican hospitality."
