  • Excellent stay for 5 at casa tangaroa in July

"My wife and I stayed at Casa Tangaroa in July with some friends. We really enjoyed everything about the house but some highlights of our trip: - struggling to get the car up the hill (and having to back up a few times) before I figured out how to turn on 4x4 - watching Costa Rica take the Netherlands to the brink in the world cup at a Domincal bar - Seeing at least 5 beaches that were completely different all south of Casa Tangaroa - Swimming in the pool and playing with the houses 'aqua-zookas' - BBQing salchichon or chicken or whatever almost every night - having the tide come in on us and getting a good set of rain at Marina Ballena - the tarzan rope at Pozo Azul - Getting the house full of giant insects when we left the window open a creek and the light on the first night ( be careful!) It's a really good time and I'd recommend it to anyone. I will not hesitate to call Neil again fi I need a place in the south pacific."

  • Perfectly maintained homes in the jungle!

"We stayed for six weeks in these beautiful homes from January to February. Our family of five stayed in one home while my in-laws and their grand-daughter stayed in the other. The wrap around deck was where we spent most of our time, eating outside, playing cards, reading in the hammocks... The pool was so warm and great for laps or just splashing around. We were so comfortable here that we didn't want to go visit around. The vaulted ceilings, the great amount of shade, the plants and surroundings are just breath taking. Marvin, the caretaker brought us fresh fruit from the jungle, and filled pots with jungle flowers to decorate the homes. He was a real pleasure to be with. The drive up the mountain to this home is about fifteen minutes and requires a four wheel drive vehicle if you want to have any real fun. Once you're down the hill, youre five minutes from the groceries, the beach, the information center... I have stayed in other nice homes in Uvita but this one is unique in how there are no bugs in the home since it has been built on stilts. I never saw a scorpion or any other venomous insect for that matter. When we stayed out at night late, my daughter was sometimes bitten my small Mosquitos but with a bit of insect repellent we would have avoided the bites. We saw a howler monkey in the jungle from our balcony, many toucans - as many as nine at once in one tree, a coati came out every night at around six, an opposum visited and so did wild peacocks. Basically, if you love nature's sights and sounds while being comfortable, go to this home."

  • Family from New York

"Just INCREDIBLE! We felt as though we were one with nature. Our 2 young boys had the time of their life. We, as family, bonded and left with such life experiences! We can't wait to go back."

  • Perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation!

"Casa Miramar was the perfect place to kick off our honeymoon! We spent a week there relaxing, recharging and enjoying all of the beautiful sights in the Dominical area. The house itself is the perfect place to relax, we spent many hours sitting on the deck watching the ocean and enjoying meals and snacks that we prepared using the fully stocked kitchen. A few other things that were great about the place - it was spotlessly cleaned prior to our arrival, the decorations were lovely so we really enjoyed the space and the curtains are nice and dark so you can really block out the early morning light if you want to sleep in (which we did!). The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and there is a washer and dryer for sandy beach towels. The house is set up on a hill which gives you a feeling of total privacy, but it's not so far up the hill that you feel isolated or that it is inconvenient. There is a really useful house handbook that we referred to in planning our daily activities - the handbook has information from the house owners and reviews from previous guests. There were only 2 of us, but the house would also be great for 4 as there is another very private suite downstairs with a private bathroom. We spent one night in a local hotel and can say that aside from all the other great points about this house, it is a great value. Super clean, comfortable and equipped with modern amenities at a much lower price than local hotels offering similar amenities. I could go on and on about how wonderful the house is - highly highly recommend this place."
