  • Exceptional estate! A true retreat setting...

"Needing to escape the rain in Seattle, we stayed in February at this amazing estate home. There was so much to do at the estate (tennis, basketball, beautiful pool, outdoor BBQ área with TV, hammocks, etc, etc) that it was hard to leave! This is a true retreat, with greenery all around and birds chirping. Our favorite part was how spacious and private the grounds are. Definitely a plus if you are wanting to get out of the crowded tournist áreas. The home is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds.) There are many accomodations in the surrounding área, but none as beautiful as this. We will definitely return."

  • What an exceptional good accomodation!

"We, family of 5, stayed here for 4 nights. Although we contacted the owner less than a day before, the booking procedure was swift and efficient. The house and its location even exceded our high expectations which were based on the photos. The house is recently built and is fully equipped with amenities like microwave, washing machine, dryer etc. and has fast working internet WiFi. The views from the terrace are unique: jungle, ocean, animals. We went to sleep with the sound of rolling waves. Paradise found...... The caretakers, Alice and Christos, did everything to make us feel home and were there when you needed them. Alkthough we were by car, we did not use it going to the village and beach. We walked the 10 minutes downhill, and after once but never again (uphill is only for masochists), we took a cab or bade for a ride uphill (2-4 dollars). We have enjoyed our stay very, very much, it could not be better!"

  • Paradise

"The property is amazingly beautiful and the owners could not be better people. Our best days were doing activities recommended by the host. Our children did not want to leave! Casa trogon has two bedrooms and one bath with daily maid service. We cooked several full meals in our kitchen and played lazily on the porch in the pool and in the hammock. The owner has amazing koi ponds and even let our children hand feed them one afternoon. We saw a huge variety of birds, butterflies, and monkeys even travelled through one early afternoon. We could not have asked for a better experience!"

  • A beautiful home in a beautiful country

"I will start by sharing the basic details of my family. I went over to Costa Rica with my husband, 2 kids (7 & 2), and my mother. We arrived in San Jose and rented a car to drive to the ferry, and then Montezuma. Please be advised that if you have children (especially small children), it is probably best to stay overnight in San Jose and head out the next morning for the journey to Montezuma. It takes over 4 hours to get to Montezuma from the airport, and that is if you have no major delays and get on the ferry quickly (which can also be a challenge)...and bring food (depending on the route, you may have very limited options along the way). Anyhow, once we arrived at the home in Montezuma, we were greeted by the caretaker. He was very friendly, and showed us where things were, and had already set up the beds for us. That was very nice, as we arrived late that evening. The home is very nice! My 2 kids had a great time running in and out onto the porch, and really liked the option of having breakfast outside on the porch. Please take into consideration as well (when you are packing) that the home isn't equipped with air conditioning as it is not really common in the area. It can be humid as well...it is essentially in a rain forest. The home is installed with a solar hot water heater, which worked out well as we never ran out of hot water. Most things that you need at home are there (i.e. washer/dryer, refrigerator, microwave, stove, etc). The home has a beautiful view of the ocean. The wildlife and plants surrounding it are fascinating. My children had a great time noticing all of the new plants, lizards, monkeys, and red squirrels. The beach is very near and was lots of fun to explore. The home is very near the city of Montezuma...where there are great restaurants and a small store to purchase grocery items. We had a very relaxing fun time in Montezuma!! The kids talk about going back a lot! I would also recommend spending a day in San Jose before you return home. Carol, the owner of the home in Montezuma, referred us to a taxi driver that took us to visit the coffee plantation, volcano, and waterfall garden for a great price! We definitely plan to return to Costa Rica one day!!"
