"We had an amazing stay at this cabin in the forest. It was a trip of a lifetime. The cabin was just perfect. We were 6 in total and it was the perfect size. What an experience to be without any human sounds, just forest sounds, for 5 days. We loved the open design so that we felt like part of nature while we were in the cabin. Having Guillermo available to help was great. We went fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking through the mangroves, hiking in Corcovado and everything was such an adventure. We saw so much just from our own porch : birds, monkeys, sunsets, beautiful thunder storms etc. We enjoyed cooking "minimally" with the supplies that we bought when we arrived in Sierpe and carried up to the cabin.
Everything was exactly as the listing described, only more magical. Not for small children and definitely a steep hike to get to the cabin. But so worth it! No direct access to shops, so plan ahead and arrange a boat ride into Sierpe with Guillermo of needed.
We will be back and will definitely stay here again. Thanks Cassidy, Guillermo, Rayna, Ceasar and Oscar for this amazing experience!"

"We stayed in Pelican house for 6 nights and could have stayed 6 weeks! The location is beyond spectacular. It feels remote and yet it is close enough to town to get groceries and have dinner (ceviche at Marisqueria Corcovado was a favorite!). The beach is almost always deserted, the water 80+ degrees and the sand incredibly soft. The house is well appointed with a comfortable bed, amazing outdoor shower, and well stocked kitchen.
Rafa, the property caretaker, made our stay particularly unique and memorable. He, his wife and daughter, are incredibly warm and welcoming. We enjoyed so many laughs with him and he is truly knowledgeable about the local area, plants and wildlife. If you speak Spanish and want to go for a local hike, Rafa is an amazing guide. He has an uncanny ability to spot birds, monkeys and other critters way up in the canopy. Although he will decline any money, add it to his tip at the end as he is not otherwise paid for being a guide for the guests--we were happy to be able to support a local family, especially one we had gotten to know so well!
If you can pry yourself from the hammock, explore the local dirt roads and beaches. Some of the bridges (particularly the first one coming from Puerto Jimenez) are a bit scary--the railings have been stolen and the bridge is the width of the car---but you'll get used to it and it adds to the adventure:) The surrounding area is incredible with lush jungle and beautiful farms. If you don't venture off the property, you are still guaranteed to see a ton of wildlife---I even saw a Jaguarundi while sitting on the deck--amazing!
Thanks Allison for being so easy to work with and for sharing your amazing piece of paradise! We hope to return!"

"We will definitely be coming back.
My husband and I have wanted to go to Costa Rica for a while and we both wanted different things. I wanted water front and beachy relaxing vacation while he wanted adventure and rainforest. So once we found this house we knew it was perfect. I don't even know where to start. From booking to helping plan things to any information we needed, everyone was there to help. We came for a week but we're in Costa Rica for ten days, breaking up the long drive which really wasn't bad given the amazing scenery. We traveled with a one and Five year old who were in awe over everything. Everyone in every town we stopped in was so friendly I never once felt uncomfortable. But the house, wow. When we pulled in we were all in shock. The pictures don't do it justice. It really is as amazing as it seems. The house itself was so clean and had everything you needed, you instantly relaxed. The upstairs shower was amazing. We showered while monkeys played in the trees and all the birds. The yard was beautiful and the view was incredible. Waking up to the beautiful sunrise and the sounds of the jungle meeting the waves, insane. We really didn't know what to expect for the kids safety and once we got there, we were not worried. Brian was so friendly and so helpful he deserves a raise haha. He really made the trip so much better by being around and helping us with everything. He was so knowledgable about the entire country and would stop in to show us monkeys and herbs, fruit and all the beautiful flowers. I can't express enough how friendly everyone is, they are always willing to help you or even just talk. Brian helped us set up, zip lining, boat tour, fishing tours, hiking to waterfalls, even just going for a drive. He even helped us with the hotels we were staying at on the way home and where to stop along the way. If anyone wants to contact me, feel free I will gladly give you insight on this amazing house. The only things I wasn't too sure on were the bugs, which ended up being truly fine..yes they are loud but nothing that will bite, unlike the US with the ridiculous mosquitos. The ants were a problem if you sat still on the open dirt like my one year old but on the grass they didn't bother you. The ocean was rocky, bring water shoes. We went to a few beaches and they are all the same. The water is very warm so the tidal pools were actually hot. The rivers were very refreshing and how cool it was to swim with monkeys in the trees!"

"Wow, what a breathtakingly beautiful house and property. I've never seen so many beautiful birds in my life. We've been to the Osa several times and this is by far the most central, best property to rent. It's smack dab in the middle of Matapalo and one can generally walk to everything, not that one needs to. You could literally spend your entire vacation at the house and the beach out front. The Caretakers are the most lovely people and are extremely knowledgable about everything and anything to do. They are there to answer any questions and tucked away so you have ultimate privacy as well. The layout of the house is perfect and all I keep thinking is how magical this place is. You are steps away from the beach, but luckily there is enough foliage in front of the house that you are not living in a fish bowl. This allows for way more privacy than the other houses that might have better views but everyone can see into those houses. It's the best of both worlds. The kitchen is amazing and what a great place to hang out and socialize around meals and coffee. You can literally open up the entire upstairs so that you feel as though you are in a big tree house as all you can see is lush green picaresque trees with scarlet macaws, toucans, parrots and more beautiful song birds than you can shake a stick at. You can then fold in the windows and slats at night to feel more tucked in. Each of the beds have fans for the hot nights but there always seems to be a breeze coming off the water to keep one refreshed. There is a perfect little plunge pool that is deep enough that one can submerge themselves up there there ears to cool off. There is beautiful bamboo and old growth trees and more amazing flower plant than I've seen anywhere. The indoor/outdoor showers are so beautiful. Once can observe so much nature in the trees near by but it all seems to stay far enough away as not to bother you. I saw four different kinds of monkeys including these little amazing squirre monkeys that are the cutest things I've ever seen. They came through with little mini babies on their backs. Our kids spent almost all there time hanging in the hammocks and watching the nature go by. There are two of the most incredible surf breaks right out front. One for beginners and one that is for beginners/intermediate and experts. The beach was basically empty most of the time, we felt like we had our own private beach. We've been to the Osa a bunch and this is hands down the most perfect spot."
