"This was our first time visiting Costa Rica and from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were in paradise. Casa Las Terrazas is stunning - clean and comfortable with everything one could need to have a relaxing vacation (including a blender for frozen rum drinks!). The house was workable for 3 couples, including 4 children - the 2 boys slept on an air mattress on the second level landing floor. The property is very private and extremely well kept - and the views are so much more impressive than the pictures capture. Our favorite place to hang out was the gazebo overlooking the Whale's Tail. Even in the hot weather, there was always a comfortable breeze under the shady canopy - a perfect place to enjoy a slushy rum punch and a good book.
A couple points worth mentioning... 1. A 4X4 is a MUST. While most of the roads are paved, the road up to house is packed dirt with lots of bumps and steep inclines. One couple had arranged for a 4X4 and when they arrived to pick up the car they were told there were no 4X4s available. They were given a Toyota Corolla. While they did make it up the hill - an adventure in the best circumstances - it was a close thing. They ended up not using the car at all until they were able to exchange it for a 4X4 half way through our vacation. 2. There is a fabulous pub less than a half mile from the house - "The Jolly Roger". We were there regularly for their AMAZING wings (over 20 different flavors) and storm fries. DO NOT MISS THIS!
Prior to our arrival I worked with Stephen to schedule all our tours, no mean feat when you have 3 families to plan around. He was most helpful, extremely responsive, and patient with all my questions and and various needs to accommodate 10 people. When we arrived in Dominical he was waiting for us at his shop and personally escorted us up to the property. He gave us a brief tour, efficiently worked through the administrative stuff, and recommended some local places for food and souvenirs, including the Jolly Roger (THANK YOU STEPHEN!). We had a few issues during our stay, but they were handled promptly and courteously - Stephen was immediately responsive to all our needs.
We've all unanimously agreed that we would return to both Dominical and Casa Las Terrazas. Thank you for a wonderful vacation... Pura Vida!"

"This is a villa in a private condo, with its own golf course and private access to the beach. The villa itself was comfortable for the stay there. It might be small for four people spending too much time in there, particularly because it does not have a pool of its own. There is a pool at about 200mts away. The complex has a small market with the basic stuff (a little overpriced), and if you have a car, you can drive 15-20 mins to a town center to go into bigger grocery stores and other services. There is a restaurant with reasonable prices. The golf course can be used, but I did not see nor ask for car rentals. The beach is around 400mts away from the villa, and the beach is stunning. The beach is clean, no stones in the sand and the see is usually calm and no dangerous currents because of being in a closed bay. There are wildlife to entertain the view as well: red macaws, monkeys, iguanas, urracas, sea gulls and other birds. Brink bug repellent if you plan on going out to the green areas. The villa has the basic stuff to cook and enough utensils for four people. Bring your own toiletries (shampoo and soap), towels are included."

"I rented here for 9 days and loved it!! The condo was cozy and comfortable. You have gated security 24/7. Although it has AC, the ceiling fans kept the condo cool day and night. Access to the pool was very convenient. Everything in Jaco is truly within walking distance."

"We absolutely loved this casa – it was every bit as beautiful as the pictures! Stephen, the house manager, was great and provided excellent customer service. He met us in town, brought us to the house, helped set up some tours, and recommended some great restaurants and even a fishmonger so we could enjoy fresh mahi mahi and shrimp on the patio grill. Tip: You can pick fresh limes behind the pool. We loved the location – only 15 mins to Dominical, the beach, and easy driving distance to waterfalls, ziplining, whitewater rafting and horseback riding. 4 wheel drive is a must to negotiate the driveway and to navigate some of the roads nearby. The kitchen has everything you'll need to make delicious meals. We prepared meals at the house for breakfast and dinner, after being out most days taking in everything the local area had to offer. Grocery shopping is fun and easy and the stores take credit cards. There is one ATM in Dominical and it dispenses both dollars and colones. The house is not suitable for very young children, and possibly for anyone who might have trouble climbing – lots of stairs, balconies and patios with beautiful tropical ocean views! But my large family thoroughly enjoyed the comfortable bedrooms, fantastic outdoor spaces, and infinity pool. I highly recommend this house to anyone visiting Costa Rica. Que Rico!
