  • Awesome Management

"I stayed at Casa Morada with my mission team. It was just outside Jaco and the traffic. The location was very private and the Kris and Kathleen are excellent managers and very accommodating! The place and grounds are clean and well kept. We will be bringing teams in the future!"

  • Costa Rica Vacation Paradise - Playa Hermosa, Jaco

"What a fabulous time we had in Costa Rica! The house and surroundings were beautiful. Having local people available through the owner, for guidance and scheduling activities is a tremendous plus for renting this place. We fished, did the Zip Line, hiked, did tourist things and just has a great time."

  • Clean, safe, beautiful location, but not quite as advertised

"We were really excited to stay at this Playa Hermosa Bungalow. While the place was clean and the location was beautiful there were some key things that were not as described. First of all, no drinking water was provided. This was a real bummer, as we had just flown overnight and driven from SJO and wanted to relax on the front porch with a nice cup of water. We ended up taking one of the empty 5 gallon jugs to Mas X Menos and getting it filled. I let the owner know and she made no apologies or effort to reimburse us. There is no telescope, nor long distance phone calls or a helpful property manager who will assist you with tours. For some reason, the maid did not fully make the beds, so we were without a blanket for one of them. Aaron did provide us with one of his, but it was not clean, but we made do. We did not feel comfortable asking him for anything after that point-- there was a certain vibe to him that made you feel as if you shouldn't bother him. I did let the owner know about the telescope and phone calls and she basically played ignorant. Had we known that some of the descriptive items were not available, nor accurate, we probably would not have gone with this house, as these were selling points for us. Some of other property managers were much more interactive and friendly. I would suggest renting a bungalow from them if you want to be able to feel comfortable asking questions about what to do in the area and where to go. Besides all of the "surprises" we really did enjoy a peaceful vacation. We spent a lot of the time on the front porch. There is a nice ocean view. On the back porch we spent time looking at all the birds and animal visitors. We did get to see the monkeys. We lounged in the pool and the hammocks and felt quite relaxed. Victor, the fisherman, came by our place and had delicious catches. A walk along the beach to some of the restaurants was a fun time. The Backyard has a nice happy hour going on. The Bluegrass Cafe had delicious cinnamon rolls. And, make sure you take a trip to the waterfalls: Tres Pascinas."

  • Nice villa, as advertised! 4 stars!!

"My girlfriend and I rent this villa for one week. It was perfect and exactly as you can see on the pictures. The villa is part of a small gated and secure residential area. The house is vast and well maintained. Each big private room has A/C and ceiling fan. The pool is a must with the hot weather of Costa Rica. Kelie (the manager) is super friendly and really helpful. Her suggestions are all "musts" in the area. Don't miss the small and typical local restaurant Los Amendros in Esterillos Oeste, the RainMaker mountain near Parrita and the romantic bar or restaurant in Villa Caletas hotel (amazing sunset view!). On the property you have mangos, you can see hummingbirds every day and Aras flying over the villa going in the mountain at the end of the day. In the area (car is highly recommended and don't rent smaller than a Toyota Rav-4!) you can find everything you need within 10-15 minutes (grocery, local shops, markets in Jaco), beaches, surf lessons, Zip lines, hiking, etc. Beaches: Esterillos has big strong waves and incredibely strong rip current (for advance swimmers and surfers), Playa Hermosa is similar and Playa Jaco has both (strong waves on the right and good waves for beginners on the left of the beach near Costa Del Mar hotel). If you are adventurous, you can find nice hiking trails in the area (ask Kelie) and you can do mountain bike on mountain roads. As described by others, the house as one close neighbour (mostly absent) and the small road is near the pool but it is not bad at all. The BBQ is practical but miss some useful tools (lighter, good brush) and it would be interesting to have candles/candles holder for outside at night and not use electricity! We definitely recommend the villa and maybe even go back with the kids ! Pura Vida! and enjoy your stay in Costa Rica!"
