"Just got back from a week in Santa Teresa with my wife and kids. This was our first trip to this part of Costa Rica. The house is ideally situated about 50 meters from the beach with a clear, wide view of the beach and waves from the large back porch and yard. You are on the beach side of the road with a wide, unobstructed path to the beach. There are several houses in this area that share a gated entrance of sorts and security guard who watches the grounds at night. It has a nice small private pool as well as access to a larger pool next door. Also next door is the Banana Beach Bar - about a 30 second walk. We had lunch there several times and it was excellent and about as mellow as you could hope for, and never loud enough to interfere with our privacy, btw.
The house itself is very nice. I wouldnt call it luxurious but very clean and comfortable. Considering how remote the area is and the relative lack of infrastructure, Im not sure how much nicer you could get at reasonable cost. The AC throughout the downstairs works great, the one upstairs room gets hot in the afternoon but cools down fine by bedtime. Wifi worked fine, too, except during rainstorms which, again, I suspect is unavoidable in this part of Costa Rica. The kitchen is outside of the main house, coming off the back porch instead, keeping most of the bugs outside the house. The kitchen was very well outfitted with plates, cutlery, utensils, etc.
Service was fantastic. Any issues communicated to the owner by email were usually addressed within 30 minutes. A very thorough maid comes daily, including weekends, and will do your laundry as well. The beach and bath towels are washed daily. The pool seemed to be cleaned daily as well.
The area is a little spread out, so although you could walk to some things you will need wheels. Either a car or a lot of people rent quad-runners.
So in summary, we loved it. We really had no complaints. This is an upscale house in a pretty rustic area, which incidentally is a lot of the charm of Santa Teresa. Its not easy to get to but its worth the effort. If you cant relax here you are in trouble."

"We spent a month overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The villa was perfect, exactly as described.
The kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable, better than could have hoped for. The pool....heaven!!
The restaurants in the area were all fantastic, we loved every meal out. Our favorites, The Dome (uvita), Jolly Roger ( Dominical) and in Ojochal Mama e Papa's, Citrus, Coranado, and the Tilapia Farm. We stayed busy with so many excursions: Osa zip line, Cano island snorkeling, ATV ride, horseback ride to waterfalls, and snorkeling near The Whale's Tail....there is so much to or relaxing at the villa listening to the waves in the distance.
Kumari was so incredible, making sure our stay was perfect, she is one of those rare gems that always shines and makes those near feel warm and welcomed.
We are looking forward to our next trip to Costa Rica and would love to return to Jardin Del Pacifico!! Thank you so much for sharing your exquisite home with us!!"

"Our family stayed at Brooks Hacienda for a week over the 2014 Thanksgiving holiday and had a wonderful trip. As other reviews have stated, this is a great location to see the rainforest and wildlife right from the deck and poolside. During our stay we were able to see and hear all types of monkeys and birds with a beautiful backdrop of the rainforest preserve in the backyard. We prefer to stay in a quieter, more relaxing place away from the crowded resorts, so we found Brooks Hacienda to be the perfect spot. The pool is great and all the features of the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroooms are very nice. The house was very clean and the beds are comfortable. Laundry facilities are also available.
This is the first time that we have rented a place where the owners were so close by, and we found it very helpful to have Randy and Kate available for questions when we needed it. Kate hooked us up with a great guide for a day trip to the Manuel Antonio Preserve and a jungle canopy tour that included ziplining, swimming at a waterfall, horseback riding in the mountains, and a Costa Rican style lunch at Santa Juana, a small village high in the mountains. This was the best day trip and tour experience that our family has ever been on. Both tours picked us up and dropped us off at the house, so it was very convenient. Kate and Randy really went out of their way to make sure our family had a great experience and had everything we need. Kate even picked up some groceries ahead of time for us since we were arriving late. She also had great recommendations for local restaurants and we found Cafe Milagro, Emilio's Cafe, El Lagarto, and El Wagon Pizza to be very good. We would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle as the road is a little rough to get to the house, and it is nice to have if you want to explore any beaches or other activities that are off the main roads. This is a quiet neighborhood, so if you are looking for a party spot, this probably would not be the best fit.
We can't wait to come back....Pura Vida!"
