  • Great House

"MY family and I have stayed in at least 6 different houses in Hermosa Palms in past few years. This house has a great floor plan, perfect in fact. Everything you need is in the house already except your food. Grilling out fresh fish and shrimp was a great treat. Surf every morning and come back to your perfectly set up house. Really comfortable furniture, cold a/c and great beds. WiFi is strong here and cable has a bunch of english channels. Everything is clean, updated, upscale and sure to impress. I Give it my best rating!"

  • First time in Costa Rica - Best trip ever!

"We are a family of five with teenagers. As we have never rented a house through VRBO before, we were pleasantly surprised with the fabulous accommodations and the convenience of it all. The house was spacious and well decorated, with all the necessary amenities in good working order. The Infinity pool and outdoor shower were a big hit. Even my wife who never swims in pools took a few dips. Our youngest boy was in constant awe of the surroundings, with many iguana, toucan, monkey and other animal sightings. We even saw an owl land in a neighbouring palm tree. The owner and his staff really take care of this place and we would recommend it to friends and family. On occasion, the road noise is a bit noticeable, but did not take away from our fabulous experience overall. Jaco and Playa Hermosa are outstanding places to visit. Our kids learned to surf and loved the ATV trip through the mountains, which included swimming in a natural waterfall lagoon. WOW!!! Can't wait to come back in the near future!"

  • Want to be on the beach? This is the one.

"We stayed in this home from February 7-14th, Saturday to Saturday. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and we really didn’t know what to expect. We loved the location just south of Playa Hermosa. We felt like it was the perfect place because we were able to go north and south for day trips. The house is the only house in the beach facing development. It is the original spec home. There is one other house in the next row back. The only real traffic is the surfers coming early in the morning to hit the waves. Then some more come back in the afternoon. The beach and ocean is literally right across a dirt road and the views on the sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. We had one night of rain and it seemed the whole place became even more lush. The house itself is well appointed and large. More than enough room for our two couples. Victor is the guard for the development and overall property manager. He is there to help you with anything you might need. It did take a little bit to get the house to cool down but once it did it was very comfortable. It is the tropics so you have to be aware that bugs come with the territory. There was a few in the house but not too bad. Wifi worked all week and we had satellite for TV. Not that it was on for more than 15 minutes a day. We were way too tired from our full days. Even the ones just floating in the pool and drinking the home beer, Imperial. Know that this beach is known for the world class surfing and not conducive to ocean swimming. It is a “black sand” beach vs. your more common white or tan sand. Also the iguanas were all over the place. In the morning they would come out and sun themselves in the grass around the pool. They like grapes. ;-) The house is 6 or 7 years old and being so close to the ocean can be tough on homes. Features were high end, but sheets/towels could use a little updating. Renting a house like this know that you should pack and bring a small supply of household goods, like laundry soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, surface cleaner. I brought a collapsible cooler for by the pool. Working with Olivier, the owner, was easy and he always answered all questions quickly. We were sorry that we didn’t get to meet him as he was out of town when we were there. An improvement I would recommend is a page of instructions to best utilizing the house. There was a lot of trial and error. I would recommend and stay at this house again."
