  • Lovely privacy, pool, and great concierges!

"We were here for five days escaping from the snow in Boston. Sabrina, one of the concierges, helped us set up surfing lessons for two 20 year olds and for our 8 year old kids. They had a great two hours learning with Rogelio. Then we had a tour of the national park on the next day--I would only suggest in the future that you try to get there as soon as the park opens in the morning--it was pretty busy and then very hot. Our guide Jason was great, we enjoyed the wildlife spotting and a swim at the beach to wrap it up. Yes, the monkeys did steal some of our food. Smart little dudes. The third day we went ziplining--also set up by Sabrina. Great tour and lots of fun. Highly recommended for anyone not afraid of heights (one of the kids backed out at the last minute and he spent the two hours getting a tour of the butterfly garden and feeding the basilisk lizard. He was fine). We spent the other two days just wandering the beaches--the main one that is down the hill and also the one near Shana Resort. I think it is called Biesatz or something. The house has lots of info on where to go, what to see and restaurants to go to. The other concierge Geralyn helped us get taxis and reservations at the various places for lunch and dinner. Barba Roja was our favorite. We relied on taxis for the most part and the bus. The house is located downhill from most of the restaurants so we walked up and taxied down. It is uphill from the beach and we usually walked down and then took the bus back up and then walked downhill from the bus stop. What a wonderful place--and the small house pool was awesome--perfect temperature and size for an afternoon cool down. Highly recommended."

  • Paradise

"Thank you Tim, Having spent past several years going south and cruising I must say that we have never experienced anything quite like your lovely home and the beauty of Hermosa Palms. The home itself is well laid out and very comfortable. The only issue we had was with a sink drain and that was handled promptly. This community is truly a magical place with a monkey to eat from your hands in the back yard to the beautiful macaws making thier daily 3.30 pm flight around the pool. We had coffee every morning around 6.30 am at the tiki hut poolside looking out over a spectacular beach scene. Days spent exploring the country side and evenings on the beach applauding the most glorious sunsets. It truly is that beautiful.. The people that we met there were mostly resident owners but without exception they made us feel very welcome. I can not say enough about our personal experience. Be aware though that this may be habit forming, as we were making plans for a return before we left. Perhaps an extended stay of lets say a month next time. What do you think Tim, can you part with this little slice of heaven for that long for us? Again many thanks We look forawrd to our return. Harold & Janet"

  • A Month In Paradise!

"We chose Casa Mono Titi for a month long stay and were not disappointed. Everything was great from the amenities of the house to the fabulous wide open view. The house is located 10+ mins south of Ojochal. There are 2 variety stores, a restaurant and an excellent meat market in Coronada where you turn off to take the 8 minute steep, scenic drive to the house. Our grocery shopping was mostly done at the BM supermarkets in Uvita about 20 mins north but discovered we could drive same distance south to the Palmar Norte BM supermarket; prices and selection were a bit better. I suggest buying duty free liquor/wine at the SJO airport as prices are cheaper. Most of our fruits and veg were bought at the Saturday market in Uvita or at roadside stands. The house has a charcoal BBQ with a neat gimmick to get the charcoal going. Try the smoked pork chops (chuletas de cerdo ahumadas) from the Carniceria (butcher shop in Coronada); their meat is excellent, their English is not! Restaurants we enjoyed were the Boca Coronada and the Tilapia Farm (2nd one) on the way to Ojochal as well as Exotica, Citrus, Mama y Papas, Ylang Ylang, all excellent choices in Ojochal. Fabrizio's has fabulous pizza and pasta (the gnocchi was delish)-small seating area but they offer take-out. If going to Dominical, try Por-Que-No restaurant then check out their small beach. Our days started at 5:30 to in order catch the best of the bird and wildlife action. The Mono Titi monkeys were frequent visitors in the large trees; watch for branch movement as they can be hard to spot. That's what we loved most about "living" here, every day provided a new amazing nature experience. Remember you are in the jungle so expect surprises! The Corcovada day trip was excellent; be sure to take backpack with water, snack, binoculars, camera and water shoes (not flip flops) as you get on/off the boat in the water. Expect 4 hours of hiking in the jungle; you will need closed walking shoes or, if has been very wet, boots would be best. The Osa Ziplining was OK (Arenal ziplining is better); not sure their rope bridge is safe! The house has well-stocked kitchen, A/C in bdrms, lots of dvds, books and bird guides, many comfy and shaded outdoor seating choices and a refreshing pool w outdoor shower. Denise, the property manager and David, our pool guy were wonderful. We learned so much from both of them, which made our stay here an experience we will never forget. Thank you Karen and Mario for sharing your lovely casa!"

  • Wish I could say that this condo was just as described but............

"The website and pics cannot prepare you for how beautiful this property is. If I could give it a 10+, I would. Everything imaginable that you would need for a wonderful stay is here. It is tastefully decorated without being overly done, has VERY comfortable bedding, was comfortably spacious and doesn't have a "touristy" feel to it. My travel companion was sick for a couple of days while we were vacationing, and I spent more time in the condo than I normally would, but that was no problem at all. I so enjoyed sitting out on the veranda and enjoying the ocean breeze, the sounds of the waves lapping in, the macaws doing their calls high up in the trees, the beautiful flowers, the hummingbirds..... I could go on and on. To top all this off, the owner, Simone, is an absolute pleasure to work with and provides so many amenities at her property. When she says she offers the special "extras", she really means it. She is a such a nice person and a pleasure to deal with. I will not hesitate to rent this property again next year. Our concierge, Esteban, was simply delightful!!!! It was our distinct pleasure to get to know him and also Luis. They went far and beyond what could ever be expected of them. They are truly wonderful people who you can trust to give you good recommendations and advice on anything Costa Rica! A special thank you to each of them for giving us the unique experience of watching a soccer match... Costa Rican style!!! We felt right at home and were cheering right along. The enthusiasm was contagious as we almost felt like locals while we celebrated the CR victory in the streets. ;o) We also very much enjoyed Marjorie who prepared us an authentic Costa Rican breakfast each morning and served it to us out on the veranda early each morning. Her cooking is to die for and she is a kind person who will take very good care of your every need to keep you comfortable! To sum my review up, I guess one may think I have gone overboard with my compliments, but I only give these high reviews because they are most deserved. This place is well worth the rental fee in itself. However, dealing with the kind, wonderful people that are associated with this rental makes it an unique experience that you don't often find. My only regret is leaving after only a week, but then..................there is always next year!!!!!! Thank you Simone and Esteban for making our vacation one to remember! We will see you again for sure!"
