"If you're looking for that special place that makes you truly feel like you're a part of the Costa Rican landscape, then look no further than Casa Mas Mananas! The property sits high above the beautiful Pacific Ocean with endless views. It's fairly secluded, so offers you plenty of privacy while having easy access to the beach and resort below. The house is well appointed with beautiful wood furnishings perfect for relaxing while soaking in all the nearby sights and sounds! The kitchen is large and to modern standards and has a large island with additional seating for dining. We cooked most of our meals at the house and grilled using the bbq on the pool deck. We also spent several days of our holiday simply enjoying the house and large infinity pool which overlooks the ocean. Despite temperatures reaching 100 degrees F, the cool ocean breeze and ceiling fans were plenty to keep you cool, and all the bedrooms came with AC units. I read several comments about the wifi issues and lack of television, but honestly, we had no issues sharing wifi on our phones and other devices....and why would you want to watch television in the middle of paradise? I didn't miss it one bit!
For as beautiful and tranquil as the property is, our holiday wouldn't have been complete without the attention of the property manager, Javier. From the moment that Javier gave us a tour of the property, to our many tours booked with him, and to sharing a few wonderful meals, Javier was simply the best! I've been lucky enough to travel the globe with work and stay in some of the nicest hotels, and Javier would rival any concierge you would find in a five-star property! He was simply a phone call away if and when we needed recommendations or assistance. His island hopping, ATV, and zip lining tours were truly a highlight of our trip. My parents, who had never traveled outside the US, were so appreciative of Javier's friendly spirit and calming nature. Our airline had lost some of our luggage, and Javier graciously acted as our main point of local contact to sort it all out. He even contacted a friend who opened up her clothing shop so we could replace some of our lost items. Javier seemed more like a member of our family, then he did the propert manager.
So if you're lookkng for a stunning property that feels like it's away from it all, you have found it! My family and I are already discussing our return trip to Costa Rica and Casa Mas Mananas!

"What a wonderful week we had at Tulemar. Our spacious 3-bedroom villa was clean, convenient, and tastefully decorated with stunning views of the jungle and ocean. There was plenty of room for all eight of us (4 adults and 4 kids). Loved having morning coffee on our balcony, and really enjoyed the huge gorgeous showers. The kitchen was well equipped. Thanks to our concierge, Bryan, for helping us with reservations and logistics, Christopher for an amazing dinner, Daniela for the best mojitos ever, and David for his excellent service at the beach and his attentiveness to the our kids. Staff everywhere are friendly and take the time to point out wildlife - we saw sloth and monkeys daily. The beach is a bit of a hike but we enjoyed the walk and saw some great wildlife along the way. A shuttle is available for those who can't tolerate hilly terrain. Overall, an amazing experience that I would recommend without reservation."

"Our stay at Villa Kristina Maria was absolutely perfect. Our group of 7 included three generations including twin 15 month-old girls. Careful placement of furniture made the place baby friendly and safe. We all enjoyed the pool which is nothing short of spectacular with its waterfall and gorgeous plantings. We expected it to be the center of activity for our one week stay with many side attractions to explore. It turned out that we spent almost the whole time at the Villa and rarely left. The bird watching was the best right from the front porch. Watching the storms come trough over the ocean was great entertainment in itself. We did lose power a number of times which we found out is fairly normal. It was never off for very long but we had to plan ahead with candles at the ready. It just added to the adventure. Speaking of adventure the driveway down to the house could double as a ski jump and gave everyone a small thrill every time we drove it. Put it all together and it is a fantastic place to stay and just hang out in the jungle. There is lots to do in the area but you may find that the best attraction is the Villa itself."

"We loved the house. We were 2 families from Telluride, Colorado, and we rented both the main house and the cabana. The pool was awesome, the bedrooms, bathrooms and the beds were great and comfortable! The beach was steps away (literally). We read some posts about security in Mal Pais and Santa Teresa and experienced zero issues. We locked the house when we left, and put our valuables in the safe. The house has an alarm. The home is awesome and very well maintained. Every day we had gardeners, pool workers or maids, etc stop by.
We walked to everything we needed. The town has 2 ATMs and an amazing bakery for breakfast. A grocery store with all you need is about a 1 minute walk from the house. We had great meals out, and they were really inexpensive. The beach, steps aways, is a huge surfing beach and has an added bonus, a bar and restaurant.
if you are looking to walk to surf, to walk to the stores and restaurants, and to have a really nice house, this is it. Excellent services. If we needed anything, the owner's rep was immediately available.
