"This villa, set at the end of a street, provides privacy in the heart of Manuel Antonio, yet there is easy access to the beach, park, tour operators, stores, and restaurants. There is a panoramic, sweeping view of a pristine valley, with a vista of mountains and sea beyond, where we watched beautiful sunrises every morning while sipping coffee and bird watching. In the neighborhood we saw a squirrel monkey, a sloth, and a rare duck (gray billed wood rail), iguanas, and many lovely birds. The private pool was a great place to unwind after the beach or the other exciting activities we did in the area (zip lining, white water rafting, surfing and paddle boarding, the Nat Park). While the home isn't luxurious, it has a nice kitchen, there is a nice view from inside, and there are verandas on 3 sides for nice light and bird watching. The home is safe, gated, and kept up by the caretaker, Elaudio, a very gentle, sweet man who is friendly and kind, and helpful without ever being intrusive. It is a roomy home where your family can enjoy their time together with privacy and space in a non-fussy atmosphere at a reasonable price. We recommend arriving during daylight hours, as the road leading to the house is daunting at night, with a steep drop that is not nearly as frightening in the daylight. There is a store just a .5k walk away, and you can catch the bus into town at the turn off to the little road, but you'll appreciate having a car if you stay here. My spouse and I are both over 55 but fit and enjoyed walking down the lane daily, but if you older or have mobility issues, it could pose a problem."Guest: Aleta J. "This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and we wanted something that was private, but also close to activities. We found Lattice House on Trip Advisor, and read so many amazing reviews, that we decided to book it. There are so many amazing things about the home: -It is very private. There is one other rental home on the property, but it is located far enough from Lattice House that you barely know it's there. -The view is amazing. We couldn't get enough of the awesome view of the coastline below. -The Pool! The infinity pool was the highlight of the house. My daughter played in the pool for hours each day, and we could comfortably watch her from inside the house or on the deck. Is was great for us adults too. Cooling off in the pool at the end of a day of adventures was so refreshing. -Trails on the property: There are a number of trails on the property, one of which leads to an amazing waterfall. -Wildlife-We had a show one morning from the monkeys up in the trees in front of the house. We spent about 30 minutes watching them leap from tree to tree. -Amenities: Fully equipped kitchen. (We made dinner at the house many nights) TVs with satellite cable and WiFi Alarm system, safes, and gated entrance. Helpful and responsive caretaker Washer and Dryer A/C in the bedrooms Proximity to activities: Lattice House is about a 10 minute drive to the town of Uvita, where you can goto the BM supermarket to get any groceries, find restaurants, get gas, etc. Also the beaches are in this area too. My stepson took a surf lesson, and my wife and daughter took a horseback riding tour. One morning I jogged about a half mile down the road from the Lattice House front gate, and there was a small entrance to a beach right there. Accessibility: Lattice House is right off the main highway. And just the house itself is beautiful. Lovely design, decor, and furnishings. Pat, the owner, and Ana, the caretaker were both very responsive to any needs, suggestions, questions that we had. This is a place I can't say enough positive things about. Just a note: There is no A/C in the main living quarters (living room, dining room, kitchen), although there are fans that circulate the air. Also, bugs and geckos share the living quarters. There's not a ton of bugs, but they are there. After a while you start to hardly notice them."Guest: Eckoplex Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 25, 2014View listing
"We stayed in Casa Sandra for four days; a family of 5(3 teenagers). We really enjoyed our stay in Casa Sandra. It was in the middle of our roundtrip in Costa Rica and because of the nice decorations, the spacious rooms, relaxing sofa’s and super balcony's we felt being at home immediatly. We loved that the supermarket was very close and with all necessary groceries like good fresh fish and beef. The kitchen was very well equiped to make a fine meal, dining in the spacious room with my family was great, The kids connected their Iphones to the great stereo in order to cheer up dinner ;-)! In the early morning the monkeys surprised us on the balcony playing with the water of the pool. The park of Manuel Antonio is awesome(we went their twice), we took the bus, 3 minute walk and very cheap (running frequently). We did’nt use our car at all. Using the washingmachine and dryer was a plus. We really recommed Casa Sandra. Hazel gave us a warm welcome upon arrival."Guest: Wil P. "What a fabulous time we had in Costa Rica! The house and surroundings were beautiful. Having local people available through the owner, for guidance and scheduling activities is a tremendous plus for renting this place. We fished, did the Zip Line, hiked, did tourist things and just has a great time."Guest: Philip C. Date of Stay: April 2014 Review Submitted: April 22, 2014View listing
