"My family of 6 just retuned home from Costa Rica. If you are looking for a great place to stay, then look no further than Toucan Gardens Villa! The Home is very big and spacious with four bedrooms and four baths. The outdoor patio has a large pool, summer kitchen, bar, pool and ping pong tables. The villa is in the middle of a rain forest with breathtaking views of the ocean in a distance and the mountains. We enjoyed picking fruit from the various trees on the grounds. There is also a nature trail on the property along with beautiful tropical flowers and plants.
Jose, the manager, was a tremendous help. He arranged for a driver and van to pick up and take us back to San Jose airport. He was extremely helpful and he suggested and helped set up the excursions for kayaking in the mangrooves, hiking and swimming at waterfall along with the suspension bridge, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, Manuel Antonio National Forest. Jose is a fabulous chef and our most enjoyable day was spending day at the beach with Jose who spoiled us with the best grilled BBQ, fish, shrimp and guacamole. We ate most of our lunches at various restaurants but Jose's crusine at the beach was the best we had all week
We can't wait to return to Costa and we would definitely stay at Toucan Gardens Villa again. I would highly recommend."

"We had simply the perfect vacation to Casa Pura Vida for Spring Break 2015. Our family of four (10 yo, 13 yo) spent 10 days at the house and could not bear to leave.
It would be impossible to convey how amazing (and EASY) this vacation was. Neil's packet of trip information was invaluable, and everything in there was accurate. We arrived after dark, and still managed to find the house pretty easily.
The house is stunning. STUNNING! It is more beautiful than the photos can convey, with a huge upstairs balcony and an enormous porch with outdoor dinner seating (both with ocean views). There were more than adequate comfortable patio chairs for lounging after dinner. And that pool! We spent multiple hours a day at the pool, resting in the hammocks and playing with the kids.
Here are some of the bonuses (that I must have missed in the description when I booked): outdoor charcoal grill, rinse-off station behind the house in addition to A FULL BATHHOUSE adjacent to the pool, a small hiking path on the property, a covered parking area, complete privacy, pool lighting that allowed you to use the pool area well past nightfall, a more than fully supplied kitchen (there were appliances that we don't have at our 'real' house), not one but TWO WiFi connections--the pool has it's own, a TV with ESPN --in Espanol -- which allowed our kids to see the Final Four and some NBA games. I could go on and on!
I don't think I realized initially how convenient the location would be. It is a 3-3.5 hour drive from San Jose, but it is a gorgeous drive and there are infinite roadside restaurants along the way. Once at the house, you are only 5 minutes from the surf town of Domenical and 5 minutes from Uvita with great grocery stores that were open long past dark. Uvita was the start of the national beaches which we LOVED. There were probably 30 restaurants within 15 minutes of the house and we did not have a bad meal in the lot. The whole fish entree was a favorite of everyone in our party.
We did the Nayauca Waterfall horseback ride which was worth every cent. It was $70 USD per person, but included two full meals and was worth every penny. Kids loved the cliff jumping/diving and we got some unbelievable photos.
Our kids took private surfing lessons on the 2nd day, and loved it so much that we went back twice more for additional lessons later in the week.
I'm out of words, but it was truly a magical vacation. Perfection!"

Great place for a relaxing retreat. Stunningly beautiful!
"Casa Yin Yang was our home for a week. Everything about this home is perfect. Rather than the very nice home next door which was designed like any nice home in our home town of Orange County, CA, Casa YIn Yang is uniquely Costa Rican in it's style. Open areas everywhere. Elegant indoor/ outdoor master bath, yoga platform near the sea (perfect for massage), extensive use of exotic wood throughout. My twenty something kids had a great time surfing on the beach in front of the house. We loved this home!"

"Our family, including 2 teen girls and my mother, enjoyed our week at this beautiful secluded air-conditioned rental home up in the hills of Costa Rica. A 4x4 is a MUST to get up the dirt/rocky hills, but we all thought that was part of the adventure. If you like to be right in the middle of all the action, then this is probably not for you, but my family loved it. We all enjoyed adventures each day in nearby Quepos/Manuel Antonio and then returned for a swim in the pool to watch the sunset before heading out again for dinner or making dinner at the house. It is at least a 15 minute trip to get to Quepos and about 5 minutes of it is on a dirt road through African Palm Trees. The home is located in a gated area, but you literally can't see another home from it. It has beautiful views and off to the far south, you can see the Pacific Ocean in the distance. The people that manage the home live nearby and were very helpful in getting us to the home and helping us locate good restaurants. As with all homes, there were a few very minor things that the owner needs to fix, but none of it was really a big deal. (The dishwasher ran loudly, there were some scratchy animal noises in the vents, and the wood around the pool needs to be replaced.) The home is very clean and there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy themselves. Also, the owner, was very helpful and easy to work with via phone/email prior to our visit. We would definitely stay again. We heard about a good adventure even further up the mountain that we didn't get to try, but hear is good."
