  • Great Family Vacation. Unbelievable Views.

"We recently stayed at Casa Celestial during Holy Week 2015. We are a family of 5 with girls 5 y.o., 8 y,o., 10 y.o. and met our friends who brought their 5 y.o. son. The Casa is a special place and the views really are that magnificent. We spent our evenings in the pool swimming and watching the sunset and our mornings having breakfast in the Palapa taking in the view. The house is very comfortable, and with the 8 of us there still felt like there was plenty of room to spare. This is a gated community and felt very safe - which is worth mentioning for people who are bringing their families. The drive from the gate is very steep -- if you are renting a car - make sure you get something with enough "guts" to get up the incline. We grilled fresh fish from the local fish co-op in Tarcoles almost daily. There is a great farmer's market in Jaco once a week on Friday. We had private surf lessons with "The Surfing Factory" in Jaco. These guys were great, and I specifically recommend Luis, who was great with the kids. An incredible week , we already started planning our return visit for next year."

  • Best Vacation Experience Ever!

"Rented this house with 16 other ladies for a bachelorette party. All of our expectations were surpassed both with the house and the service. Upon arrival the staff had prepared some appetizers and sangria to greet us which was the best way to start the vacation and the superb attention to detail did not end until we departed. The house itself is gorgeous, pretty much isolated up a mountain and surrounded by stunning views of the rainforest. We had included breakfast most of the days and did 3 dinners at the house and the food was amazing and the staff was super accommodating to special requests. Angelo and Catherine were amazing in ensuring that everything was organized and there were no issues and were able to assist in everything from dinner reservations and excursions to arranging a DJ/bartender and bbq cookout at the house. Would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking to travel to Costa Rica!! Thanks again to Angelo, Catherine and the rest of the staff for making our stay so fantastic!!"

  • Nature Lovers Dream

"If there is "heaven on earth" this is the place! The property surrounding this home is what made this such a memorable vacation for us. I can tell you that the pictures of the interior of the home itself are completely accurate. We had my sister-in-law with us for a portion of our trip, and the layout of the two poolside bedrooms on opposite sides of the home, each with their own bathrooms were great for our individual privacy. There are ceiling fans in every room, and I can honestly say that having just the fans (no A/C) was enough to keep us comfortable. Don't let the lack of A/C keep you from considering this home. Now for the backyard...Danielle has done a masterful job in creating a true "Garden of Eden" experience. My sister-in-law and I would lay in the pool and marvel at the variety of flowering plants, and it seemed like every day we'd discover something we hadn't noticed before! The current pictures of the outside of the property could use updating as it's so much more lush than what is pictured. The is a fantastic flowering white bougainvillea over the covered patio leading to the pool, there is a bright yellow hibiscus-type flowering vine that is running up and along the the pool-side barbeque area. I could go on, and on. The lush garden (I keep using the word "lush", but it's so true) invites countless varieties of birds - imagine waking each morning to them singing to each other! We even saw a lizard eating the red hibiscus at the far back of the property, and there was an iguana that liked to hang by the pool and sun himself. We did not experience any mosquitoes like one of the reviews commented on. As a matter of fact, we slept with only the mosquito netting over the bedroom door at night, and left the kitchen and living room doors open all day, neither of which have screens. We never so much as saw one bug in the house. A note on Jaco itself - the three of us found that the walk to the beach took us about 25 mins one-way. There is a little tienda about a block from the entrance to the subdivision (barrio), and a great fruit market about 2 blocks beyond that. Further down the road is a bakery that has fantastic bread that we bought fresh daily. The Caribbean restaurant at the entrance to the barrio is a winner as well! Rebecca is a very personable and welcoming manager, and was always available when we had questions for her. From the first day to the last, we enjoyed our stay here and hope to be back next year!"

  • Great Vacation!

"My family and I loved Sonidos del Mar. The location was perfect with the large dark sand beach just down the road and a wonderful hike not too far up the road as well. We loved the size, layout and beautiful decor, just perfect for a tropical getaway! It also had good amenities (blow dryers, towels and all you could need in a gourmet kitchen). The owner Lauri was such a pleasure to deal with and Jan (who helps to manage the property) was terrific too. She popped by to greet us and helped to set up our tours, reservations and surf lessons throughout our stay...The dark sand beach is beautiful with incredibly warm water. Depending on the tide, you can have rolling waves and then pretty calm waters. There is a small restaurant right on the beach as you walk from the house which we visited daily for lunch. We tried others but found it to be our FAVORITE! Plenty of great restaurants as well and all at reasonable prices. We would definitely come back and totally recommend as a wonderful beach vacation with lots to do!"
