  • Week stay in Jaco during Green season

"My wife and I with our 2 friends try to go to the Caribbean every year. This year we decided to try something different and picked Costa Rica on the Pacific side. I am usually reluctant to go to a place where we have no reccomendations from friends, but we decided to give it a try. The condo was large, clean, Well furnished and was facing the water. The management staff was attentive to all our needs as well as arranging for our airport transportation and excursions. The town of Jaco was one block away and all the people were friendly and helpful. Lots of choices to eat and easy to meld into the culture. If we go back to Jaco we would stay at the same complex again."

"I recently spent two very relaxing weeks at El Secret Garden in the quaint village of Cabuya. This adorable little casita was the perfect home base to return to after a day full of adventure. We were very happy to have AC as we were there during the hot season. Having our own washing machine was also a great bonus. The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils required .Two stores close by sold everything we needed from groceries to cleaning and personal products. There are also a few restaurants with very good local cuisine including a bakery/restaurant with very high quality baked goods. We dîdn't have a car but the bus that takes you into Montezuma will stop for you right in front of the casita. There are also taxi's. The people were very friendly and willing to help. Cabuya is the perfect area for those who love outdoor adventure and those who just want to get away from the fast pace of life. El Secret Garden was the perfect place for us to experience beautiful Costa Rica."

  • Awesome House!

"We stayed only a couple days to be away from the touristy areas of Arenal , and Jaco, and had a wonderful stay! We cooked at the well equipped house and enjoyed the beachfront chairs and fire pit.We went fishing with the on site caretaker and was the only thing we would suggest doing with a tour recommended by Jenny or out of Montezuma, our experience with him was not as pleasant as we had hoped for the convenience of leaving from our beach, and the price we paid ! His gear had some to be desired and was perpetually late ,and with our short time there, required being on time. The house and the grounds were pure heaven , and as said in other reviews, do not expect a swimmable beach as the tides are extreme and is shallow and rocky beachfront, but none the less very beautiful, expect to drive to other beaches to swim. The house would be perfect if a little more private, expect to spend your vacation with the caretaker and his wife and 3 kids , although a pleasant family, they appear to derive their sole employment from the renters at the property and are ever present , and complain of their income and expect payment for basic services they offered, tipped him handsomely, and waited many hours for firewood, propane for the grill, etc etc !Made requests at 3 pm and was 8 pm before we got either! If a privacy fence was erected this would help the owners set up some boundaries, and a more relaxing and private experience would be had by anyone renting here ! Howler monkeys visited, and the landscaping, trees and flowers etc were absolutely gorgeous, and the house was well equipped, a decorated beautifully. The floor plan is a little odd with the only comfortable seating in the living area that is upstairs and shared by the master suite,a wall separating the bedroom would be a plus as we had the main level bedroom and a concrete outdoor table and a wooden bench in the kitchen were the only areas to sit to not intrude on the couple in the upstairs bedroom, so the living area was unusable for us!Pads for all the chairs would also be a plus,as I was actually sore after spending 3 days on wood and concrete seating!A smaller kitchen table and a COUCH downstairs and seat pads for the outdoor furniture (save the loungers that had pads, after we got them the second day from the caretaker who was using them )would be a great investment for the comfort of guests .:-) Loved the place with a few upgrades 5 star! Will likely get a beachfront motel next visit!"
