  • Perfect Location, Condo and Owner!

"First let me say I went into this trip not knowing a lot about Jaco or Costa Rica in general, but I had heard a lot of good things about the area and decided to see what it was about. I enjoy surfing and this was an area I wanted to visit and surf. After searching for many days and reading many reviews I started looking for a hotel to stay at. I must say this was very confusing for me because I have not been to the area and didn't know which ones were nice or bad. I then stumbled on this site and started searching for condos. I then found Butch's condo and the price was very close to some of the hotels. Once again I was going in blind and had no idea other than the photos and reviews people have left about Butch and his condo. I contacted Butch and immediately got a response from him. Now for the fun part Butch went on and on about his condo and how wonderful it is down there. I felt extremely comfortable after speaking with Butch and soon there after booked his condo for a week. The pictures Butch has posted does NOT do it justice!! This condo is extremely spacious with a huge balcony. Although we were only 2 people you could easily had 20 people in this condo for a get together. Everything is updated and worked just like advertised. A wall A/C unit was in every room and blasted out very cold air. One thing that is not pictured is the second bathroom. It is the same as the master which was wonderful. A lot of time was spent on the balcony looking at the ocean or taking at peek at the mountain side. Crocs next door is a dream come true!!! during the week there is maybe 10 people at the HUGE pool with pool service. Yes you will have full access to that and all the restaurants. The private entrance is 90 feet from the condo's elevator. All the staff at the condo were wonderful. You can book every tour you want to do in Jaco right in the office and they will pick you up from there. I highly recommend this unit and with Crocs next door it will be harder and harder to come back and visit cause Butch's condo will be booked. Only negative I can think of would be the new Crocs next door. This place is not cheap. You will spend the extra $$$ to eat or drink in the nicest resort in Jaco. Butch you have a beautiful condo and please feel free to use me as a reference for anything. Once again you are the man and we appreciate you making our vacation go smooth. Chris R."

  • The most amazing place on Earth! Worth the drive.

"We had simply the perfect vacation to Casa Pura Vida for Spring Break 2015. Our family of four (10 yo, 13 yo) spent 10 days at the house and could not bear to leave. It would be impossible to convey how amazing (and EASY) this vacation was. Neil's packet of trip information was invaluable, and everything in there was accurate. We arrived after dark, and still managed to find the house pretty easily. The house is stunning. STUNNING! It is more beautiful than the photos can convey, with a huge upstairs balcony and an enormous porch with outdoor dinner seating (both with ocean views). There were more than adequate comfortable patio chairs for lounging after dinner. And that pool! We spent multiple hours a day at the pool, resting in the hammocks and playing with the kids. Here are some of the bonuses (that I must have missed in the description when I booked): outdoor charcoal grill, rinse-off station behind the house in addition to A FULL BATHHOUSE adjacent to the pool, a small hiking path on the property, a covered parking area, complete privacy, pool lighting that allowed you to use the pool area well past nightfall, a more than fully supplied kitchen (there were appliances that we don't have at our 'real' house), not one but TWO WiFi connections--the pool has it's own, a TV with ESPN --in Espanol -- which allowed our kids to see the Final Four and some NBA games. I could go on and on! I don't think I realized initially how convenient the location would be. It is a 3-3.5 hour drive from San Jose, but it is a gorgeous drive and there are infinite roadside restaurants along the way. Once at the house, you are only 5 minutes from the surf town of Domenical and 5 minutes from Uvita with great grocery stores that were open long past dark. Uvita was the start of the national beaches which we LOVED. There were probably 30 restaurants within 15 minutes of the house and we did not have a bad meal in the lot. The whole fish entree was a favorite of everyone in our party. We did the Nayauca Waterfall horseback ride which was worth every cent. It was $70 USD per person, but included two full meals and was worth every penny. Kids loved the cliff jumping/diving and we got some unbelievable photos. Our kids took private surfing lessons on the 2nd day, and loved it so much that we went back twice more for additional lessons later in the week. I'm out of words, but it was truly a magical vacation. Perfection!"

  • Wonderful Time

"I researched the Jaco area and found that for the price, location, and amenities, the Parson's condo was the best choice for us. There were four of us (two couples), and were pleased with the privacy we each had. We had breakfast at the condo a few mornings, and enjoyed eating at the table outside near the pool. (Wishing the waterfall in the pool was turned on, we thought maybe that was due to the time of year). The staff at La Paloma Blanca were excellent. (An iguana decided to take a dip in the pool; they were quick to retrieve it, even letting us hold it for pictures!) It was wonderful to hear the waves of the ocean so close, and hear and see the macaws sitting in the trees right outside the front door every morning. It was startling to see tiny crabs on the living room floor and in the shower at times, but we just scooped them up and put them outside in the grass. Julie, our concierge, was very friendly and helpful. She set us up with the best zip line tour in the area! It was well worth the money, with the best staff and a fresh fruit snack afterward! For Jaco eats, I highly recommend Rustico restaurant, a local soda with a variety of fantastic, inexpensive food. Tsunami Sushi is a must for sushi lovers, and they have half-price rolls, as well as other daily specials. We had a rental car to explore the area, but walked down the beach to downtown Jaco several times as well. Surfing lessons/board rentals are near the back gate on the beach, and the Tiki Bar just a short walk south of the condo had the best pina coladas! We plan on using the nice outdoor bbq area next time :) We had a wonderful stay at the Parson's condo, and thank Julie for her help and information. She really made herself available to us at all times. I would recommend this condo for anyone wanting to explore the Jaco area and have an extremely awesome stay. Thank you!"

  • Epic vacation!

"We stayed at Beachwood for 9 heavenly nights. The home and the property it sits upon are a living piece of art. It's so simple and casual, yet very elegant. Beyond the morning walks on the beach and the occasional dinner out, we found that we never wanted to leave the property. The staff are extremely accommodating and kept the home and grounds immaculate. Our concierge gave great suggestions for restaurants and brought in a fantastic masseuse. Our chef, Rob Essa, delighted us with several incredible lunches and dinners, mostly fresh fish caught the same day. We enjoyed the wildlife and were greeted by a troupe of howler monkeys that were mostly unimpressed by us. Sleep isn't the same since we've been home. The sound of the ocean, the comfortable bed and the sweet-smelling air are all that's missing."
