  • Great Family Vacation. Unbelievable Views.

"We recently stayed at Casa Celestial during Holy Week 2015. We are a family of 5 with girls 5 y.o., 8 y,o., 10 y.o. and met our friends who brought their 5 y.o. son. The Casa is a special place and the views really are that magnificent. We spent our evenings in the pool swimming and watching the sunset and our mornings having breakfast in the Palapa taking in the view. The house is very comfortable, and with the 8 of us there still felt like there was plenty of room to spare. This is a gated community and felt very safe - which is worth mentioning for people who are bringing their families. The drive from the gate is very steep -- if you are renting a car - make sure you get something with enough "guts" to get up the incline. We grilled fresh fish from the local fish co-op in Tarcoles almost daily. There is a great farmer's market in Jaco once a week on Friday. We had private surf lessons with "The Surfing Factory" in Jaco. These guys were great, and I specifically recommend Luis, who was great with the kids. An incredible week , we already started planning our return visit for next year."

  • Vistas Infinitas . . . Say's it All!

"Upon our late arrival, we were greeted with a big smiling welcome from Nickie (house manager), who showed us around your beautiful home! It was more magnificent than depicted on the website, extremely well appointed, kitchen fully equipped and comfortable beds! Every detail thought of, the fans, lighting, books, etc. The landscaping around the home was full of tropical foliage with landscape lighting at night actuating the lipstick palms to bougainvillea framing in the view of the Pacific Ocean from the porch! My wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with another couple and your home provided the perfect setting! Each morning began with gazing at the ocean as the sun rose revealing the colors of the flora of the surrounding mountains . . . after breakfast we explored the country, Quepos Fiera (Saturday), Hacienda Baru (nature trail and zip line), Manuel Antonio, the Organic Fiera in San Isidro (Tuesday's), and afternoon's in the pool (very private), until the rains refreshed earth, then the sunsets, what more can I say! We had visits from Toucan's, Humming Bird's and the resident frogs, a real treat! Showering using the outdoor shower, before dinner each night was Pura Vita with orchids peeping over the rail and the mountain side was the shower curtain! The broad selection of reference books gave insight to the birds, animals and culture of Costa Rica! We were so into the outside world that we didn't turn on the satellite TV at all. WiFi handled data transfer with no problem, and annoying bugs were virtually non existent at that altitude. 4x4 recommended, drive slow and look for wildlife! Nickie was a great help and wonderful to share when, where and what about Costa Rica . . . Perfect pick for us, thank you for sharing your home!"

  • Trust me, you want to stay here!

"I would not hesitate to recommend this house to anyone. My boyfriend and I spent one week here in February, we felt quite lucky to have such a large place to ourselves as it does sleep 8 very comfortably. Each room is its own contained unit making it great for 3-4 couples travelling together. We chose to fly with Air Sansa from San Jose to Tambor where we met our taxi to Santa Teresa. This leg of trip in its self is an adventure. Our ATV's for the week were dropped off at the house upon our arrival and were picked up the day we left - our taxis, activities, dinner reservations & ATV's were all set up by the house manager who did a great job communicating with us and ensuring we were using the best companies. The sunsets and view alone from the pool were worth every penny. The road to the house is quite steep as mentioned and we were happy to have ATV's rather than a rental car. We'd recommend: - Tortuga island with Zumatours, we saw pilot whales, dolphins, blowfish and Macaws. - The spa at Florblanca as well as the restaurant - we had lunch and dinner on the beach there *you can use there pool and beautiful beach area with bar service. - ATV from house to Montezuma, don't miss the big Strangler Fir, monkeys or splashing through the rivers. - Kojis has a nice dinner atmosphere and their sushi isn't too bad either, make a reservation. ***Lots of places are cash only and except US and Colones. The rooms are simple and exactly what you need. Comfortable, clean queen beds. The caretakers are excellent and skim the pool each day as well as general tidy the house and garbages. Our laundry was even hanging out to dry when we got home most days. The kitchen, dining and living area is a great space too. Honey and Camilla are two canine frequent visitors, we loved having them stop by along with some horses, a bull frog, humming birds - lots of birds and lizards. I'm sure anyone would love their time at this property. It's private yet close to everything you need."

  • Great week in Costa Rica

"A few things to understand about the property.... If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton, this is not it. If you want to spend a lot of time indoors lounging around on fancy furniture, this is not for you. If you are looking for a 'home base' while you are out and about in Costa Rica that has everything you might need in addition to very helpful assistance from the property manager, you should consider this. The house is pretty basic. It has plenty of room, a full kitchen, A/C in the bedrooms, etc. It had all we needed.... we were really only in the house to sleep and prepare food occasionally. The grounds are wonderful... nice pool, great seating area with views, awesome elevated porch for great sunsets, and easy access to the beach. The water in the ocean around Tarcoles is mixed with freshwater from the Tarcoles River, so it doesn't have that crystal clear blue color that you always see in pictures. That being said, we swam on the beach in front of the house every day, and in the pool every day. We were a bit shell shocked when we got there about it's location, and about how remote it felt. That was quickly dispelled by exploring. There are easily 10 restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk by beach (we always walked on the beach) or by road. If you are even slightly fit, you will have no issues walking to get food. Walking down the beach in either direction leads to civilization (town or beach restaurants). We ate out almost every night, and did breakfast at the house. During the day we were usually out and about somewhere. Patri lined up a great zipline tour, a Tico tour with Gino (well worth it) and horseback riding on the beach. We also spent a day in Jaco. There is a bus that runs from Tarcoles to Jaco. We speak almost no Spanish, but with a little common sense and some gumption, you can find your way around and figure things out. Jaco was a zoo. More Americans than in America. If I want to see a bunch of Americans, I'll stay in in Virginia. It was worth a day to play in the surf there, but a week in Jaco would have driven me insane. I feel like we got to experience the real Costa Rica on our trip by staying away from the resort areas."
