  • Luxurious stay with magical views

"The house is luxurious and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The mountain and ocean view is breathtaking. Perfect for relaxing after our very adventurous days of hiking, snorkeling, riding ATV's, jumping from waterfalls, visiting the beach... Loved the lap pool! The boys were happy with the DVD collection. Watching movies was a nice way to end our days. Alex, the concierge, was great. He set us up on the best snorkeling excursion ever! Much more than snorkeling. We also visited two private jungle islands with wild macaws and anteaters and saw crocs and monkeys on the river portion of the tour. Although a bit nervous about mountain driving I felt comfortable on the paved roads and the drive leading up to the house. Our family had the time of our lives!"

  • Perfect!

"Our week in this jungle bungalow was exactly what we needed and wanted. The bungalow itself is well thought out and very comfortable. The location is heaven, nestled in the jungle, with a spectacular view, the feeling of seclusion and yet close to people (and civilization). We loved the jungle sounds! The owners are wonderful and quite helpful. There is plenty to do in the Uvita area, but quite honestly, you would have a wonderful vacation if you never left the deck."

  • The ultimate private getaway for a couple

"Where to start...The property, the house, the's just beautiful. The house is up the mountain about 5km in the middle of the jungle, with a view that is quite breathtaking. We would sit there in the mornings eating breakfast and just stare at the view. The pool is amazing and perfect for couples or even a family. You can just lean on the side of the pool and take in the view or float around on the floats and take in the sun. The house is the perfect size for 2-4 people. The open floor plan and windows and doors make the house seem much bigger than it is. The beds are comfy and the amenities are modern and wonderful including the outdoor shower. Everything you need is there to cook your own meals, and the house is close enough to tons of great restaurants. We ate at the Roadshack Cafe in Uvita, Patron at Dominicalito Beach, La Parcela in Dominical and Tortilla Flats at Dominicalito Beach. All were excellent and highly recommended to us. This house is perfect for adventurers. We rented a car (4x4 is a must) and explored almost every day. I would recommend going with a little bit nicer of a 4x4 than the Diahatsu Terios that we got. It was a little weak going up the mountain but it did the job. It's close to Jaco Beach, Quepos, Dominical Beach, Playa Hermosa, Uvita Beach where the famous Whale Tail is and only 2.5 hours drive from San Jose. The drive is beautiful by the way. The coastline is stunning. The sunsets are some of the best we've seen. You can see plenty of wildlife on your stay here. We saw toucans every day around 5pm from the pool/patio. We saw green parrots and hawks flying through the valley. We saw huge Cane Toads and iguanas and geckos. Also check out Villas Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary where they save, nurture and reintroduce animals back to the wild. One of the highlights of our trip was when Chuck and Mercedes took us to their beautiful waterfall, river and cliff jumping site behind the house on their property. It was just an amazing experience all around and Chuck and Merc were the perfect hosts. We will be back hopefully over and over and over. Costa Rica was everything we needed and wanted in a great vacation and we definitely could live there. All of the places in Costa Rica take US dollars, so don't worry about exchanging money. Highly commend this property. Thanks Chuck and Merc for helping us make amazing memories!"

  • Rainforest seclusion

"This zen little getaway is perfectly secluded high in the mountainous rainforest. It was so relaxing and romantic to feel like the only two people in the world. The constant buzz of cicadas and cries of birds of prey played the perfect soundtrack for ambient white noise. I can't imagine a better backdrop to recharge one's body, mind and soul than the dramatic sunsets with a 360 view from the mountains to the Pacific. It was so obvious that Paula and Marty care deeply about their guests and their chosen home, down to each exquisite detail and the gracious hospitality we were shown."
