  • beautiful place

"Really beautiful place with amazing views. If you need to get away and connect with the part of you that can't surrender to 'the real world" this is the place to do it. Jacqui and Trina were both very helpful, checking in and out was a breeze and we enjoyed the whole thing. The road is a bit steep but after one trip you get used to it and it's no problem. We picked up a few locals and enjoyed sharing our wheels for their long walk to town. Go the the Roadhouse restaurant at km 169, great food (fresh and thoughtful), cafe con leche, yerba mate and wonderful people. At the time of this post they are open daily from 11 to 4 and closed Monday. Uvita is a very special place and the Whales tail at sunset was unforgettable."

  • Beautiful, fun, and safe for a girls' weekend!

"We visited Casa Uvita as a group of four girls for three nights in July. As women travelers, we not only enjoyed the beautiful house and beaches, our host and activities, but we also felt very safe and well-cared-for. Casa Uvita is very obviously well-loved and kept immaculately. I have stayed in many rental houses in Costa Rica and none have been in such good condition, from the furniture to the linens and bathroom fixtures to the equipment in the kitchen. Another plus is that there are four full bathrooms, so we could all get ready at the same time! From the house we saw many toucans and heard the howler monkeys every day. Michele or her staff was ALWAYS nearby if we had any questions or needed any help. They arranged an awesome horse ride for us where the horses were brought directly to Casa Uvita and we rode down hills, over boulders, through rivers and streams and mangrove forests, directly down to the whale’s tail! Michele also gave us recommendations for the best beaches to visit (many were deserted except for us!), restaurants, and even brought us fresh-made tortillas one night! Most evenings, we had drinks on the beautiful patio at the house and cooked dinners for ourselves in the well-equipped kitchen. We did our shopping at a very nice grocery store right at the bottom of the hill. There were also lots of board games and movies to entertain us in the evenings. As women travelers, we were looking for something peaceful, beautiful, off the beaten-track, and above all, safe. We found many vacation houses advertised in the Uvita area during our dates, but only Michele at Casa Uvita could assure us someone would be on the property at all times, 24/7, to help us and to be there in case of an emergency. Costa Rica is certainly not dangerous, but as women travelers, it’s best to take precautions to be safe! I hope to return to Casa Uvita again soon as there are many more activities we didn’t have time for: waterfall hikes, surfing, and exploring more beaches and restaurants!"

  • WOW...A Great Place for Adventure

"I recently had the opportunity to visit Costa Rica and enjoyed my time immensely. I contacted Yves, the owner of Casa Eko Mar, and he was quick to respond with answers to all of my questions. I sort of ask a lot of questions to see if the owner is sincerely interested in having me and my guests stay in their home. It was obvious from the beginning that Yves enjoys having people come to his home and to his area of paradise. We arrived for a much too short 5 day stay and the house is much more than the pictures and words can describe. Immediately when we walked in to the house, the view through the ocean side windows and doors is fantastic. As Yves was speaking, we had to ask him if we could go outside to finish the pleasant introduction. The view from every point of the house is great. Yves gave us great recommendations, instructions of what beaches were in the area and what to explore. And man, did we. Within 20 minutes driving, there are 6 beaches of which we visited all. We body boarded in Playa Hermosa, explored the cave and waterfall at Playa Arca, walked on the "Whale Tail" at Playa Uvita and then in the same afternoon, we saw whales breaching at Playa Ballena. The house, Casa Eko Mar is perfectly situated on the side of the mountain and is nicely outfitted with everything you'll need for your stay. We cooked most meals at the house outside on the grill. The mornings and evenings are excellent for sitting outside on the patio. And Yves told us that he just finished re-surfacing the pool deck and it is really a nice space. The pool is perfect for relaxing after being adventurous all day and enjoying the view of the ocean. I will definitely recommend this house to my friends and anyone else that has the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica, specifically Uvita. * There is no opportunity here to add photos, but believe me, it is a really nice house. The photos on the site are great, but in person...WOW!"

Uvita Travel Tips

Let Uvita Beach Rentals Uncover the True Meaning of Vacation

The southwestern region of Costa Rica has been described by many as the most biologically diverse area in the world. Uvita, located in the southern province of Puntarenas, offers some pretty spectacular beaches, vistas, and wildlife that you will not find in any other corners of the world. This is why Uvita beach rentals are so popular along Costa Rica’s southern Pacific Coast. The stunning beaches allow something for everyone, whether it’s surfing or sunbathing. Vacations in Costa Rica are simply incomplete without a visit to Uvita.

Whale-Watching at Uvita Resorts

If you plan to stay in Uvita resorts in either December or April, you are in for a treat! Because Uvita is situated within the Marino Bellena National Park, anyone staying in Uvita beach rentals will have the opportunity to go whale-watching during these months. Humpback whales migrate to Costa Rica’s warm waters to mate before they head back north, so it really is a great opportunity to see some of the most majestic animals on the planet.

Planning Vacations in Costa Rica

Vacations in Costa Rica are actually quite easy and affordable to plan. Because the weather is so gorgeous, it is possible to book Uvita resorts almost any time of year, so such a vacation really is conducive to a busy schedule. The best way to reach Uvita resorts from outside of Costa Rica is by flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport just outside of San Jose. You can then catch a bus the rest of the way. An alternative is to fly into Palomar Sur Airport and rent a car to get to the beach.

A Variety of Fun at Uvita Beach Rentals

Staying at Uvita resorts will definitely allow you to experience a true beach getaway. Obviously, vacations in Costa Rica consist of plenty of visits to the sandy white beaches with fantastic waves but there are other things to do as well. Any water sport imaginable is available near Uvita beach rentals which means you will choose from activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and scuba diving. If you are after a more relaxed pace, you can simply enjoy long walks on the beach, horseback rides, or simply hanging out by the pool.
