  • Luxurious stay with magical views

"The house is luxurious and beautiful. We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The mountain and ocean view is breathtaking. Perfect for relaxing after our very adventurous days of hiking, snorkeling, riding ATV's, jumping from waterfalls, visiting the beach... Loved the lap pool! The boys were happy with the DVD collection. Watching movies was a nice way to end our days. Alex, the concierge, was great. He set us up on the best snorkeling excursion ever! Much more than snorkeling. We also visited two private jungle islands with wild macaws and anteaters and saw crocs and monkeys on the river portion of the tour. Although a bit nervous about mountain driving I felt comfortable on the paved roads and the drive leading up to the house. Our family had the time of our lives!"

  • Perfectly maintained homes in the jungle!

"We stayed for six weeks in these beautiful homes from January to February. Our family of five stayed in one home while my in-laws and their grand-daughter stayed in the other. The wrap around deck was where we spent most of our time, eating outside, playing cards, reading in the hammocks... The pool was so warm and great for laps or just splashing around. We were so comfortable here that we didn't want to go visit around. The vaulted ceilings, the great amount of shade, the plants and surroundings are just breath taking. Marvin, the caretaker brought us fresh fruit from the jungle, and filled pots with jungle flowers to decorate the homes. He was a real pleasure to be with. The drive up the mountain to this home is about fifteen minutes and requires a four wheel drive vehicle if you want to have any real fun. Once you're down the hill, youre five minutes from the groceries, the beach, the information center... I have stayed in other nice homes in Uvita but this one is unique in how there are no bugs in the home since it has been built on stilts. I never saw a scorpion or any other venomous insect for that matter. When we stayed out at night late, my daughter was sometimes bitten my small Mosquitos but with a bit of insect repellent we would have avoided the bites. We saw a howler monkey in the jungle from our balcony, many toucans - as many as nine at once in one tree, a coati came out every night at around six, an opposum visited and so did wild peacocks. Basically, if you love nature's sights and sounds while being comfortable, go to this home."

  • Chilling in the Jungle!!

"The house is fabulous, with wonderful inside/outside flow. Lots of windows and glass doors allows for easy viewing of the surrounding greenery. Decks are very inviting and covered, so you can sit out during the rain. Pool is more functional than it looks in pictures and the back drop of plants and waterfall is gorgeous. Tons of fans, both inside and out, keep the air moving. Super well equipped. Binders with info on the area. All makes this place very homey and comfortable, while feeling private and safe. The road up to the house is a classic 4x4 road and the driveway quite steep. But it is concrete and very doable. Walking the road was our daily, private jungle hike. Saw all kinds of animals. Did not see any snakes, but made sure to stay open roads/trails! Uvita is a great location to spend time and have a more "authentic" experience of Costa Rica. It is right between the central tourist areas to the north and the remoteness of the Osa. Very good amenities such as grocery stores and restaurants. And the jungle pretty much goes from the mountains to the beach, except in town. Which translates to wildlife everywhere. The beaches around Uvita are great for body surfing and boogie boarding. Not the huge waves and strong undertow of the more surfer-oriented beaches like Dominical, Playa Hermosa, Santa Teresa, etc. Our favorite was Playa Ballena that was accessed via the Marina Ballena Club. A great perk that comes with the house. Sitting where the jungle meets the beach, plenty of shade and wildlife bursting in the background. Totally awesome. Highly recommend. Wish we stayed there longer!"

  • Wonderful stay in Uvita

"I don't usually write reviews but my parents and myself had such a wonderful experience at Jacqui and Randy's rental house - thank you so much. Like other people have mentioned, every detail of the house is carefully thought out, all the finishing touches are beautiful, everything is of such a high quality and the view takes your breath away. The photos don't do the house nor the view justice. What made the stay so lovely however was how friendly and helpful Jacqui and Trina were. Jacqui sent me a lot of useful information leading up to the trip, and Trina went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable. The day we arrived we hadn't bought any groceries and didn't really want to drive back down the hill, and while we were deciding what to do, Trina called to say she was at the store and did we want anything bringing up! We couldn't believe it. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone. You do need a 4x4 to get up the hill. And do buy groceries and some drinks for at least the night you arrive. When you get up the hill and arrive to the house you won't want to go back down! There are plenty of tours and activities you can do in the area. I recommend the Uvita Information Centre - very helpful and they use great tour operators."
