"If you want to experience the natural vibes of Costa Rica without giving up the luxury modern conveniences and without the hassles of a hotel, this is the ideal choice. The two-bedroom, two-bath layout of the Casita was perfect for our family of three, a couple with a college-age son. We visited for 8 days over the Labor Day weekend and didn't want to leave. Mercedes is the perfect host because she respects your privacy but is only an email away if you need anything. She connected us with some unforgettable experiences, and practicalities like best restaurants and where to buy groceries. The wifi works great and there's a welcome book that explains everything about the house and surrounding area. We never turned on the TV because there is so much to do. We went canyoning, zip lining, hiking and rafting. You'll need a 4-wheel drive to go anywhere off the main highway and the road to Casa Namaste is one of the best maintained in the area. But the beauty of this property is that you don't have to go anywhere. We woke up to the sunrise, bird calls and howler monkeys. Afternoon was happy hour by the pool and dinner we prepared in the well-equpped kitchen. Venture down to the bottom of the hill to swim in the natural waterfalls and whirlpools. And did I mention the view? The pictures don't do it justice. We're a family of world travelers who like to "go local" whenever we can. This was one of our all-time best experiences with a rental property. Highly recommended."Guest: reliantship Date of Stay: August 2014 Review Submitted: September 1, 2014View listing
"The house is fabulous, with wonderful inside/outside flow. Lots of windows and glass doors allows for easy viewing of the surrounding greenery. Decks are very inviting and covered, so you can sit out during the rain. Pool is more functional than it looks in pictures and the back drop of plants and waterfall is gorgeous. Tons of fans, both inside and out, keep the air moving. Super well equipped. Binders with info on the area. All makes this place very homey and comfortable, while feeling private and safe. The road up to the house is a classic 4x4 road and the driveway quite steep. But it is concrete and very doable. Walking the road was our daily, private jungle hike. Saw all kinds of animals. Did not see any snakes, but made sure to stay open roads/trails! Uvita is a great location to spend time and have a more "authentic" experience of Costa Rica. It is right between the central tourist areas to the north and the remoteness of the Osa. Very good amenities such as grocery stores and restaurants. And the jungle pretty much goes from the mountains to the beach, except in town. Which translates to wildlife everywhere. The beaches around Uvita are great for body surfing and boogie boarding. Not the huge waves and strong undertow of the more surfer-oriented beaches like Dominical, Playa Hermosa, Santa Teresa, etc. Our favorite was Playa Ballena that was accessed via the Marina Ballena Club. A great perk that comes with the house. Sitting where the jungle meets the beach, plenty of shade and wildlife bursting in the background. Totally awesome. Highly recommend. Wish we stayed there longer!"Guest: Taylor-YYs Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: August 5, 2014View listing
"This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and we wanted something that was private, but also close to activities. We found Lattice House on Trip Advisor, and read so many amazing reviews, that we decided to book it. There are so many amazing things about the home: -It is very private. There is one other rental home on the property, but it is located far enough from Lattice House that you barely know it's there. -The view is amazing. We couldn't get enough of the awesome view of the coastline below. -The Pool! The infinity pool was the highlight of the house. My daughter played in the pool for hours each day, and we could comfortably watch her from inside the house or on the deck. Is was great for us adults too. Cooling off in the pool at the end of a day of adventures was so refreshing. -Trails on the property: There are a number of trails on the property, one of which leads to an amazing waterfall. -Wildlife-We had a show one morning from the monkeys up in the trees in front of the house. We spent about 30 minutes watching them leap from tree to tree. -Amenities: Fully equipped kitchen. (We made dinner at the house many nights) TVs with satellite cable and WiFi Alarm system, safes, and gated entrance. Helpful and responsive caretaker Washer and Dryer A/C in the bedrooms Proximity to activities: Lattice House is about a 10 minute drive to the town of Uvita, where you can goto the BM supermarket to get any groceries, find restaurants, get gas, etc. Also the beaches are in this area too. My stepson took a surf lesson, and my wife and daughter took a horseback riding tour. One morning I jogged about a half mile down the road from the Lattice House front gate, and there was a small entrance to a beach right there. Accessibility: Lattice House is right off the main highway. And just the house itself is beautiful. Lovely design, decor, and furnishings. Pat, the owner, and Ana, the caretaker were both very responsive to any needs, suggestions, questions that we had. This is a place I can't say enough positive things about. Just a note: There is no A/C in the main living quarters (living room, dining room, kitchen), although there are fans that circulate the air. Also, bugs and geckos share the living quarters. There's not a ton of bugs, but they are there. After a while you start to hardly notice them."Guest: Eckoplex Date of Stay: June 2014 Review Submitted: August 25, 2014View listing
"We visited Casa Uvita as a group of four girls for three nights in July. As women travelers, we not only enjoyed the beautiful house and beaches, our host and activities, but we also felt very safe and well-cared-for. Casa Uvita is very obviously well-loved and kept immaculately. I have stayed in many rental houses in Costa Rica and none have been in such good condition, from the furniture to the linens and bathroom fixtures to the equipment in the kitchen. Another plus is that there are four full bathrooms, so we could all get ready at the same time! From the house we saw many toucans and heard the howler monkeys every day. Michele or her staff was ALWAYS nearby if we had any questions or needed any help. They arranged an awesome horse ride for us where the horses were brought directly to Casa Uvita and we rode down hills, over boulders, through rivers and streams and mangrove forests, directly down to the whale’s tail! Michele also gave us recommendations for the best beaches to visit (many were deserted except for us!), restaurants, and even brought us fresh-made tortillas one night! Most evenings, we had drinks on the beautiful patio at the house and cooked dinners for ourselves in the well-equipped kitchen. We did our shopping at a very nice grocery store right at the bottom of the hill. There were also lots of board games and movies to entertain us in the evenings. As women travelers, we were looking for something peaceful, beautiful, off the beaten-track, and above all, safe. We found many vacation houses advertised in the Uvita area during our dates, but only Michele at Casa Uvita could assure us someone would be on the property at all times, 24/7, to help us and to be there in case of an emergency. Costa Rica is certainly not dangerous, but as women travelers, it’s best to take precautions to be safe! I hope to return to Casa Uvita again soon as there are many more activities we didn’t have time for: waterfall hikes, surfing, and exploring more beaches and restaurants!"Guest: Anonymous Date of Stay: July 2014 Review Submitted: July 24, 2014View listing
Uvita Travel Tips
Let Uvita Beach Rentals Uncover the True Meaning of Vacation
The southwestern region of Costa Rica has been described by many as the most biologically diverse area in the world. Uvita, located in the southern province of Puntarenas, offers some pretty spectacular beaches, vistas, and wildlife that you will not find in any other corners of the world. This is why Uvita beach rentals are so popular along Costa Rica’s southern Pacific Coast. The stunning beaches allow something for everyone, whether it’s surfing or sunbathing. Vacations in Costa Rica are simply incomplete without a visit to Uvita.
Whale-Watching at Uvita Resorts
If you plan to stay in Uvita resorts in either December or April, you are in for a treat! Because Uvita is situated within the Marino Bellena National Park, anyone staying in Uvita beach rentals will have the opportunity to go whale-watching during these months. Planning Vacations in Costa Rica
Vacations in Costa Rica are actually quite easy and affordable to plan. Because the weather is so gorgeous, it is possible to book Uvita resorts almost any time of year, so such a vacation really is conducive to a busy schedule. The best way to reach Uvita resorts from outside of Costa Rica is by flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport just outside of San Jose. You can then catch a bus the rest of the way. An alternative is to fly into Palomar Sur Airport and rent a car to get to the beach.
A Variety of Fun at Uvita Beach Rentals
Staying at Uvita resorts will definitely allow you to experience a true beach getaway. Obviously, vacations in Costa Rica consist of plenty of visits to the sandy white beaches with fantastic waves but there are other things to do as well. Any water sport imaginable is available near Uvita beach rentals which means you will choose from activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and scuba diving.
