  • Family friendly vacation home

"Stunning architecture, simple but functional interior design, breathtaking views of coast and sunset. Hammocks on the porch, nice size jacuzzi, gas grill, outdoor dining perfectly located on a hilltop with a constant nice breeze and surrounding wildlife. Jean, the owner, did not only make sure we had all we needed and expected but was also a great resource for local tours and events. We were very happy with our accomodation and will likely be back in the near future. PS: ..and YES, you can hear some wildlife around the house, even at night because it is so quiet but that is one of the reasons we chose Manuel Antonio and not a desert. Thanks Jean!!"

  • Great Home Base for Exploring Puntarenas

"This was our first visit to Costa Rica and we thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay at Los Delfines. The condo was neat and clean, serving as a great home base for our explorations. We were able to walk to the beach and the development was very nice and well maintained. We had a couple of meals in the restaurant, which were good. The residents are very friendly, and we even made a few friends. We also enjoyed the surrounding areas - canopy tour in Montezuma, boat ride to Isla Tortuga, surfing at Mal Pais or Santa Teresa, local nature reserves (Curu) and the like. We would certainly recommend the condo for anyone interested in visiting the area. Mike was vey helpful and provided many tips for traveling to the area. A couple of recommendations: The kitchen was not as well-appointed as other VRBOs (could use a better BBQ, a few good cutting knives, a few new pots/pans - one pot was missing it's handle -- a salad bowl). There was only one hand towel for two bathrooms, so we would recommend having a couple of additional hand towels. None of these drawbacks would cause us not to return to this rental, though. It was a good value for the price and we would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Additional advice: If you fly into San Jose (Alejuela) and decide to rent a car (and take the ferry to Paquera, then drive to Los Delfines - about 35 minutes), go to the super Wal-Mart or some store like Costco to stock up on basic food items/supplies, as the stores in the area are a little pricey and have limited selection."

  • Awesome House!

"We stayed only a couple days to be away from the touristy areas of Arenal , and Jaco, and had a wonderful stay! We cooked at the well equipped house and enjoyed the beachfront chairs and fire pit.We went fishing with the on site caretaker and was the only thing we would suggest doing with a tour recommended by Jenny or out of Montezuma, our experience with him was not as pleasant as we had hoped for the convenience of leaving from our beach, and the price we paid ! His gear had some to be desired and was perpetually late ,and with our short time there, required being on time. The house and the grounds were pure heaven , and as said in other reviews, do not expect a swimmable beach as the tides are extreme and is shallow and rocky beachfront, but none the less very beautiful, expect to drive to other beaches to swim. The house would be perfect if a little more private, expect to spend your vacation with the caretaker and his wife and 3 kids , although a pleasant family, they appear to derive their sole employment from the renters at the property and are ever present , and complain of their income and expect payment for basic services they offered, tipped him handsomely, and waited many hours for firewood, propane for the grill, etc etc !Made requests at 3 pm and was 8 pm before we got either! If a privacy fence was erected this would help the owners set up some boundaries, and a more relaxing and private experience would be had by anyone renting here ! Howler monkeys visited, and the landscaping, trees and flowers etc were absolutely gorgeous, and the house was well equipped, a decorated beautifully. The floor plan is a little odd with the only comfortable seating in the living area that is upstairs and shared by the master suite,a wall separating the bedroom would be a plus as we had the main level bedroom and a concrete outdoor table and a wooden bench in the kitchen were the only areas to sit to not intrude on the couple in the upstairs bedroom, so the living area was unusable for us!Pads for all the chairs would also be a plus,as I was actually sore after spending 3 days on wood and concrete seating!A smaller kitchen table and a COUCH downstairs and seat pads for the outdoor furniture (save the loungers that had pads, after we got them the second day from the caretaker who was using them )would be a great investment for the comfort of guests .:-) Loved the place with a few upgrades 5 star! Will likely get a beachfront motel next visit!"

  • Just great... Everything

"What a phenomenal house, town, beach, I could go on and on. Our group was 7 good friends about 25-35 yrs old, and we were looking for a place to relax, surf, go on hikes and adventures, have group diners, etc. It was great being so close to the beach and surfing spots. Santa Teresa and other within walking dist from the house are great, and Hermosa, a 15 min drive north, was a great place for beginner surfing. The town was chill and laid back, exactly what I'd expect it to be. There were many restaurants, surf shops, gift stores, and a grocery/general store, but it was not "touristy" at all. Felt very safe and comfortable the whole time. Finally, Scott was great to work with, and the caretaker for the property, David, is the most kind, cool, and hospitable we could have asked for. He has all the local knowledge, great surfer, great jazz saxophone player, and will make your trip the most of whatever you want it to be. I would definitely come back to this exact spot again! Thanks David - Jared and the crew"
