  • Absolutely Beautiful Monico Property

"Wow, wow, wow!!!! You get the amazing Costa Rican vibe as soon as you step onto the Monico property. The lush grounds transport you to the beautiful rainforest just beyond your windows. It's surreal to sit on one of the balconies in the morning and watch Macaws glide toward the rainforest canopy. The penthouse has everything we could ask for in our home away from home from a private hot tub area equipped with TV, pool table, bar and even a disco overlooking the city of Jaco. The friendly Monico staff handled all our needs from airport transfers to booking excursions and tours... Also they are an excellent source in finding the great hidden places to dine in Jaco. I'm taking my son back in November and making what I'm sure is just one of my many return visits to Monico."

  • Serene Privacy!

"This is an amazing property that affords absolute privacy with incredible views of both ocean and valley. 8 minutes off the Coastanera Highway on a bumpy, road and 4 WD is a must. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The pool is large enough for a family and having the washer and dryer in a separate bodega is great. The AC is wonderful in the bedrooms for sleeping and Denise was available, as needed. Plan to stock up on all your supplies if you don't want to go down the hill often. Great restaurants nearby in Ojochal, the OSA Canopy Tour is the best! You cannot go wrong with this home away from home."

  • House near Tarcoles

"There were 8 adults on this trip. 4 stayed stayed in this house and 4 next door. We had a very relaxing time. We were looking for affordable lodging, not a 4 star resort or motel/hotel. We wanted to be immersed in the culture of Costa Rica. We felt very safe and secure here. The locals were all very friendly. Sure wish we spoke Spanish. These houses fit the bill. The houses were clean and bedrooms were air conditioned. A problem with a water heater and an air conditioner were fixed right away. In the 2 story only 1 main shower was working. We made do without the other 2 so never mentioned it. There is a fish camp next to one of the houses. It was interesting watching them as they headed out and returned each day. Patri did an absolutely wonderful job at taking care of our every need. We enjoyed coffee every morning with the Macaws and Frigates and local dogs. They seemed to know we were dog lovers and were waiting for us every morning when we stepped outside. Walked the beach a few times everyday. You won't want to swim here. Very rocky and the commercial shrimpers come too close to shore and keep the water stirred up. There is swimming a short walk away. We used the pools everyday. Tarcoles is a small fishing village. It is a close enough walk via beach, at low tide, or road for supplies. If you walk the beach you will encounter the boat "yard" where the locals mend nets and fix boats. We also took the bus to Heradura and Jaco a few times. Another reviewer mentioned how the trucks using their jake brakes was a problem. Yes you can hear them but actually this did not bother us. Very much enjoyed meeting Gino and Maria form Tico Style Tours, Gilbreth, of Jaco Travels and Herra and his family who kept up the grounds and pool. Herra brought us different local fruits each day from his garden. What a joy that was trying fruits we had never heard of before. Being so close to the ocean and being able to hear it at night was so relaxing. We grilled fresh fish and shrimp from the fish coop. We had a very good time. Thanks again to Patri for helping make this a memorable vacation."

  • Jaco on the beach

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Property manager was excellent. The location is ideal---steps from beach and within walking distance of downtown. Very quiet at the villa. Security very friendly. We hated to leave."
