  • Wonderful stay in fantastic home!

"We had a wonderful stay at Casa Zabala a couple of weeks ago. The home was spacious and charming. We appreciated the warm hospitality of Alex, the brother-in-law of Ken who was away the weekend we were there. The plantation is so peaceful and tropical- mangoes, bananas, mandarin oranges abound and renters are welcome to pick and enjoy. Our 3 young kids fell in love with Estella, the farm's German Shepard! She slept on the porch all night. No satellite tv, but we brought a kindle and laptop and watched netflix with no trouble. Our only regret was not bringing along more family/friends to enjoy this home! So much space went unused! I could have laid on the hammock on the upstairs porch for several days...yet we had only booked one night and were on our way to the beach after seeing the cloud forest. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

  • A slice of heaven

"We could walk that beach forever! Every day a different experience, but always serene and beautiful. The house is snuggled in a lush setting, literally steps from the beach. The grounds are impeccably maintained and the pool and outdoor showers are a refreshing way to cool off after a warm beach swim or walk. Quaint restaurants are just a 10 -20 minute walk down the beach. The rooms were comfy and colorful, but the outdoor wrap around patio is where we lived when not on the beach or in the pool. The caretaker (and his delightful puppy) was friendly and he even cooked us a delicious meal when asked. This place is a gem!"

  • A Touch of Paradise

"This was our first trip to Costa Rica, but it will definitely not be our last! The house was a "home" and everything it was advertised to be! Peaceful and quiet but a quick walk to town! The kitchen was fully equipped, the best we have ever experienced! Rebecca was very helpful and gave us suggestions for things to see and do, as well as locations of markets, banks etc! Danielle gave us many suggestions prior to our arrival in Costa Rica such as rental car information and sights to see! Definitely looking forward to returning!!"

  • Amazing place for our family

"We stayed 4 nights at Casa Pajaro and had an incredible experience with our three young children (7, 4 and 2). The house is gorgeous, spacious enough for a family and beautifully designed - the kitchen and living rooms open up to the outside to give you a truly indoor outdoor feel with wonderful fresh breezes. The pool was awesome and the whole place was very private. The view of the ocean was breathtaking. We had several toucans that visited right off the balcony as well as a family of howler monkeys (along with a baby hanging on it's mother's back). This is the kind of experience you just can't get at a hotel. The dirt road up the mountain was well maintained but I still think a 4 wheel drive is necessary. Also, the owners were wonderful and so incredibly helpful with planning before our trip."
