  • Paradise Found

"This villa is our new favorite place in the world. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, the beach, and the town. The pictures online don't capture just how beautiful it all is in person. Rick and Ginny were excellent and we thank them dearly for introducing us to it all."

  • Amazing View and Great Hospitality

"Our family of 4 stayed in Bungalow 1 for a week at the end of July and had an amazing time. The bungalow was wonderful, clean and cozy. The views were amazing and we loved hearing the Howler monkeys each morning and watching the Toucans perch in the nearby trees. Uvita is an awesome quiet little town with place with plenty of adventures near by. Some of our favorite activities were horseback riding to the Nauyaca water fall, hiking out on to the whales tale (seen from our front porch), and taking the boat trip out of Sierpe to Cano Island, where we saw humpback whales and snorkeled with reef sharks, rays, and turtles. In the evenings it was nice to sit out on the front porch and watch the sunset or listen to the rain and sounds of the jungle. Aly was an amazing host, she was so pleasant and easy to work with while planning our trip. Although she was not in Costa Rica during our visit, she was always quick to answer any of my questions and made great suggestions on fun activities for my adventurous family, as well as incredible places to eat. Trina, the care taker of her bungalow while she is away, was awesome as well. She was always willing to help or answer our questions. My daughter even made friends with her kids and went for a play visit while we were there. I would recommend Jungle Mountain Bungalows for anyone interested in getting off the beaten path and experiencing the real Costa Rica. This place is great for adventurous families or for those that just want to relax on the front porch while taking in the amazing views. We hope to return to Uvita someday soon. Thanks Aly for making our experience so much better :)"

  • Amazing Family Vacation

"Cannot say enough about our vacation and accommodations at the Lattice House. Everything from the breathtaking views, gorgeous home, amazing house manager, meals prepared by personal chef, private transfer service from airport and so on. We tried to take advantage of all the other reviews and so our vacation was so organized yet relaxing. The trip from airport to this area was far, but having the van pick us up allowed us to relax. We did try to cook a few nights but in hindsight would have just gone out to dinner or dinner prepared for us. We did the canopy tour, whale watching (whales were right next our boat-it was crazy), beach excursions and stayed at the house, in the pool and just loved the sights and sounds of the reserve. We hiked through jungle to waterfall twice. So great to have on property. We even got to hold a few monkeys after the canopy tour. So cute!!! We stayed with another family so there was 9 of us. Because the kids shared it worked out and Ana helped us figure out best way for everyone to be comfortable. (5 children 11yrs-16yrs). We highly recommend that if your plans take you to Costa Rica, you must stay at the Lattice House. You will not regret!"

  • Amazing View of Backwash Bay

"The home is a welcome retreat: tastefully furnished, spacious, peaceful, and surrounded by large trees and wildlife like coatimundi, scarlet macaws, monkeys, lizards, large tropical birds, etc. We won't forget the day that 30 racoons crossed the back lawn right in front of us. You wake each morning to sounds of Howler monkeys calling from the trees, birds, and the relaxing sounds of nature against the backdrop of crashing waves. You can feed fruits to the visiting Capuchin monkeys in the backyard. You can paddle straight out to Backwash Bay from the properties path down to the bay. And you can go deep-sea fishing along Cabo Matapalo and catch mahimahi, mackerel, tuna, snapper, etc. A fish monger can also sell you fish from his moped each day if you like. There were no mosquitos here - but beware of the noseeums at dawn and dusk on the beaches (their bites itch 100x's more than mosquitos). Our family with young children felt totally safe in the home during the entire stay. Our children played with the caretaker's son most days, as well as with neighborhood children. No one in our family got sick from drinking the tap water, ice or food during our entire stay. One warning is that the power goes out most nights so have your laptops, cell phones charged up before you go to sleep. And lights in the home are dim in the evenings - so plan accordingly. And be aware that there will be some days of cold showers. We appreciated the daily housekeeping which kept things looking neat and tidy. My only suggestion is that the kitchen be stocked with paper towels, salt, and pepper. You can obtain a shopping list for the grocery store in Puerto Jimenez prior to your arrival so that you know what to buy before heading out on the 45-minute drive to Cabo Matapalo (because the road is quite bumpy, you want to stock up on as much food as possible so that you don't need to drive back to PJ too often)."
