"After spending a week at Casa Azul, we just wanted to stay. The owners clearly put their hearts into designing this funky, beautiful, kid-friendly home. Our 2 year old loved being able to go in and out of the gradual-entry pool and exploring all the kids toys. I loved the american-style kitchen will all the amenities I am used to. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all beautiful and very comfortable. But really what takes this place over-the-top are the sunsets over the infinity pool (ok, and sitting on the deck and looking at the stars at night, too).
It is super easy to get over to the beach, run into El Tunco for supplies or go over to my favorite restaurant in El Salvador - Ola Beto's, just down the road.
The place isn't brand new anymore, and has a bit of wear and tear, but hardly noticed after settling in."

"Just got back and can't say enough good things about our experience. The house itself is great. Right on the beach with a restaurant right next door that rents surfboards for $10 and has good food. Tunco, Zonte Sunzal all close.
But what puts this place over the top are the incredible people. Sergio and his family are the caretakers, and they are always there to help, and the pool and grounds are immaculate. Then there is the dog Fooki who will cruise the beach with you then settle on the steps protecting. Everyday Linda (the property manager) and her husband would stop by to see how things were going. Linda helped us get taxis into town to shop, cooked a couple of meals for us (she is a very good cook!), and was going to set up a waterfall hike for us (but the weather turned). Monty the owner was very helpful when we needed to contact him, and took care of everything beyond expectations. Thanks Monty!!! I highly recommend his casa.
It was really great to have them all around; the vacation would not have been the same without the help of these awesome people."

"I am in my early 40's and well travelled (25+ countries). I am accustom to the quality and cleanliness you find in a 4 or 5 star hotel. My partner and I were very pleased to find The Romantic Casita met our expectations; and the property (grounds, pool, location, view, beach access) easily exceeded our expectations. The casita is a unit attached to the side of a larger home which is also rented out, therefore you will be sharing the grounds and pool with other guests. We expected this and had no issues/concerns/problems etc. Inside the unit we did not hear any noise/sounds from the guests in the larger house.
-fantastic view, location, pool, and beach....absolutely stunning
-gated community with armed guards
-we ordered food (pupusas) from a vendor who came by on his bike - it was a fantastic, inexpensive and a unique service....and delicious
-the food at the restaurants at the neighbouring beach (El Parmacito- ask the owners/property manager for directions) was fantastic and inexpensive eg. Breakfast (omelette) and coffee for two was $7 total. These restaurants are huts on the beach, however the food is fresh and restaurant quality. I had a lobster dinner which came with two small lobsters covered in prawns (20 +) with rice, salad, tortilla for $15.
-unit has a combination safe
-D'Arcy (owner) is excellent at responding quickly to any questions or concerns
-Roxanne (ppty mgr) comes by each morning to attend to needs
Things to keep in mind:
-WIFI signal did not work for us until the last day (on the last day the ppty mgr advised us it works if you place the wifi stick by the window....only then did it work for us).
-stairs - there are not a lot of stairs however people with disabilities will find the stairs and pathway to the pool challenging
-in a residential area therefore not within walking distance to markets, shops
-stop at the market on your way in to pick up groceries (don't forget oil, herbs, charcoal (for the BBQ) etc.
-include hand soap, hair dryer, shampoo with the rest of your toiletries
-AC is only in the bedroom
-ants- this is a tropical destination so you have to expect to have ants, geckos etc. it is part and parcel! (Note: these ants did not bite). However, I recommend more effort be made into controlling them -traps etc. and be prepared to put all food items etc away regularly.
This property was stunning and I can not wait to return to it. Highly recommended!"

"Our family of 5 just returned from 8 nights at Villa Bendicion. Mike was really helpful arranging transportation from the airport, to the grocery store and fish market, restaurants and other areas of El Salvador. We spent most days relaxing in the pool, reading or napping in the hammock. Three of us surfed and enjoyed great waves in warm water. No wetsuits! What a treat! The house was very comfortable and we all enjoyed getting to know Mike and his family. Having a few of our meals prepared for us (with the fish we bought at the fish market) was also one of the highlights or our time there. I highly recommend a visit and would return to El Salvador without hesitation."
