"Our family of 5 just returned from 8 nights at Villa Bendicion. Mike was really helpful arranging transportation from the airport, to the grocery store and fish market, restaurants and other areas of El Salvador. We spent most days relaxing in the pool, reading or napping in the hammock. Three of us surfed and enjoyed great waves in warm water. No wetsuits! What a treat! The house was very comfortable and we all enjoyed getting to know Mike and his family. Having a few of our meals prepared for us (with the fish we bought at the fish market) was also one of the highlights or our time there. I highly recommend a visit and would return to El Salvador without hesitation."

"I am in my early 40's and well travelled (25+ countries). I am accustom to the quality and cleanliness you find in a 4 or 5 star hotel. My partner and I were very pleased to find The Romantic Casita met our expectations; and the property (grounds, pool, location, view, beach access) easily exceeded our expectations. The casita is a unit attached to the side of a larger home which is also rented out, therefore you will be sharing the grounds and pool with other guests. We expected this and had no issues/concerns/problems etc. Inside the unit we did not hear any noise/sounds from the guests in the larger house.
-fantastic view, location, pool, and beach....absolutely stunning
-gated community with armed guards
-we ordered food (pupusas) from a vendor who came by on his bike - it was a fantastic, inexpensive and a unique service....and delicious
-the food at the restaurants at the neighbouring beach (El Parmacito- ask the owners/property manager for directions) was fantastic and inexpensive eg. Breakfast (omelette) and coffee for two was $7 total. These restaurants are huts on the beach, however the food is fresh and restaurant quality. I had a lobster dinner which came with two small lobsters covered in prawns (20 +) with rice, salad, tortilla for $15.
-unit has a combination safe
-D'Arcy (owner) is excellent at responding quickly to any questions or concerns
-Roxanne (ppty mgr) comes by each morning to attend to needs
Things to keep in mind:
-WIFI signal did not work for us until the last day (on the last day the ppty mgr advised us it works if you place the wifi stick by the window....only then did it work for us).
-stairs - there are not a lot of stairs however people with disabilities will find the stairs and pathway to the pool challenging
-in a residential area therefore not within walking distance to markets, shops
-stop at the market on your way in to pick up groceries (don't forget oil, herbs, charcoal (for the BBQ) etc.
-include hand soap, hair dryer, shampoo with the rest of your toiletries
-AC is only in the bedroom
-ants- this is a tropical destination so you have to expect to have ants, geckos etc. it is part and parcel! (Note: these ants did not bite). However, I recommend more effort be made into controlling them -traps etc. and be prepared to put all food items etc away regularly.
This property was stunning and I can not wait to return to it. Highly recommended!"

"this is the fourth year we have gone to Casa Tia Tita, and as others have said, it just keeps getting better. My friends and I committed to doing 20 years in a row here, why go anywhere else.
Mario and Morena and their beautiful kids are the best!"

The only sounds are the constant waves and the occasional rooster
"I stayed at El Jacalito with four friends for the most relaxing, enjoyable two week vacation of my well traveled life. This home is so spacious and comfortable with so many areas to congregate, dine, rest and chat that one feels to have an entire private resort at one's disposal. I loved the kitchen for staging buffet meals, appetizer spreads and quick meals on an impulse. Everything you need is there including candles for atmosphere and many seating options for couples or groups to enjoy. Without the distraction of TV and the internet, I found that we all talked to each other a lot and solved most of the world's problems, created all sorts of DIY craft projects and told adventure stories to each other that were nearly forgotten with our usual busy lives. We relaxed in the pool, the warm ocean and had rounds and rounds of splendid massage from the very kind caretaker who has magical hands. I would recommend a candlelight massage on the top of the the cabana with breezes blowing. Bring your favorite cream or lotion for an unforgettable experience.
This is a very family friendly house with plenty of space for everyone. The caretakers are very competent and respectful of your peace and quiet but they are certainly available for any assistance or suggestions that you might need. I will return to this wonderful piece of paradise by the ocean, it would be hard to resist go again, I am making plans already."
