"I had spent quite a while researching places to stay in El Salvador after getting a good review from a friend. After an exhausting search, I had noticed this BB at Dulce Villa and reached out to book a getaway for myself and my fiance. Upon inquiry, I was surprised at how fast the response from D'Arcy took! Right away she made the planning and booking with comfort and ease. Upon arrival, we were greeted by both Shawn and D'Arcy at the airport and knew right away that we were going to be in good hands. They then took us back to the location and when we walked through the front doors, were immediately amazed and taken back by the breathtaking views and beauty of the property. We felt right at home in paradise as we quickly put on the bathing suits and got into the amazing infinity pool that looks over the ocean with the waves crashing below. It's a sight that really is hard to put into words!
D'Arcy and Shawn couldn't have been better hosts as they were always at your beckoning call with whatever was in need. Whether it be a refreshing cold beverage of any sort or a light snack in between the delicious meals compliments of the amazing chef Shawn. We had first envisioned ourselves going out to all the many excursions that they offer as a way to see and experience the country, however, we found that we already had what we needed and more right where we were. We had the luxury of having massages on a lower patio that is just feet above the ocean perched on a cliff with the splashing of the waves just below you. The private/guarded community offers many sights but also beholds the many friends that they have come to know over the years who were truly remarkable to both meet know.
Despite the many attractions and views, we believe that the best experience we had was the interaction and friendship that we developed with both Shawn and D'Arcy. They have mastered something very special to share with those who are willing. The many conversations and passionate care that they take of you will leave us forever changed and know that these two will be a special part of our lives for a very long time. It was difficult leaving as it almost felt as though we had found another home, but know that we will be back very soon and who knows, may never leave....
Thank you D'Arcy and Shawn!! We already miss you both!"

The only sounds are the constant waves and the occasional rooster
"I stayed at El Jacalito with four friends for the most relaxing, enjoyable two week vacation of my well traveled life. This home is so spacious and comfortable with so many areas to congregate, dine, rest and chat that one feels to have an entire private resort at one's disposal. I loved the kitchen for staging buffet meals, appetizer spreads and quick meals on an impulse. Everything you need is there including candles for atmosphere and many seating options for couples or groups to enjoy. Without the distraction of TV and the internet, I found that we all talked to each other a lot and solved most of the world's problems, created all sorts of DIY craft projects and told adventure stories to each other that were nearly forgotten with our usual busy lives. We relaxed in the pool, the warm ocean and had rounds and rounds of splendid massage from the very kind caretaker who has magical hands. I would recommend a candlelight massage on the top of the the cabana with breezes blowing. Bring your favorite cream or lotion for an unforgettable experience.
This is a very family friendly house with plenty of space for everyone. The caretakers are very competent and respectful of your peace and quiet but they are certainly available for any assistance or suggestions that you might need. I will return to this wonderful piece of paradise by the ocean, it would be hard to resist go again, I am making plans already."

"My husband and I truly found paradise at the Beach Bella Vista. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer... as in forever ;) We stayed in the main house. We are already making plans to return, and this next time we will bring our family. It was incredibly relaxing. There isn't anything quite like a gentle ocean breeze and the sound of waves to lull you to sleep at night, or as you rock gently in one of the hammocks. Seriously, it is pure bliss.
We found friends for life in meeting Shawn and D'Arcy. They are two of the nicest people you could hope to meet. They are attentive, prompt, and truly dedicated to making sure that their guests have a wonderful experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the Burke's recommendations for restaurants, and activities (including surf lessons!)
The home itself is beautiful. It is modern, comfortable, spacious, nicely appointed, and impeccably clean. The pool and gardens are also very beautiful and well maintained.
The views are unbeatable, and the ocean is warm and welcoming. The waves are perfect for boogy-boarding or body-surfing. It would also be an ideal place to skim-board (at least during the drier season when the sand is plentilful).
We honestly can't recommend this home highly enough. If you are interested in having the most incredible vacation and El Salvadorian experience possible, you need to stay here. We honestly cannot wait to go back!!"

"After spending a week at Casa Azul, we just wanted to stay. The owners clearly put their hearts into designing this funky, beautiful, kid-friendly home. Our 2 year old loved being able to go in and out of the gradual-entry pool and exploring all the kids toys. I loved the american-style kitchen will all the amenities I am used to. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all beautiful and very comfortable. But really what takes this place over-the-top are the sunsets over the infinity pool (ok, and sitting on the deck and looking at the stars at night, too).
It is super easy to get over to the beach, run into El Tunco for supplies or go over to my favorite restaurant in El Salvador - Ola Beto's, just down the road.
The place isn't brand new anymore, and has a bit of wear and tear, but hardly noticed after settling in."
