  • Great vacation spot

"My son and I stayed at Rancho Cajun for 11 days recently and had a great time. Dianne is wonderful to work with. She was very quick to reply to questions during the booking process, gave me detailed instructions on how to get to the house when we flew in and stopped by a few times during our visit to make sure everything was ok. Her property is as advertised and the photo's and video she has on the site will give you great insight into what to expect. The waves on the beach, during high tide, are powerful and we had a great time in them. Make sure you ask Dianne about the rip currents and what to watch for if you have younger children. She gave us great advice and we never had a problem. The waves are really strong though, so take care. La Libertad is a smaller town but has some good restaurants and we used their local supermarket on a number of occasions. A bit further down the main road there are a couple of very good places to eat, the view from the patio at Beto's is really good and the food nice with the beer ice cold! Just what you need after a day on the beach. We visited El Tazumal to see the Mayan ruins and also visited the Santa Anna volcano. Both are really worth the drive. Roads in the area are generally good, but watch for potholes. These can quickly ruin your day if you hit them to hard and end up with a flat. Directions are ok, but not all the main routes are well signposted. One of the things that did impress me was the wifi service in the house. It was fast enough to keep my son quiet. Dianne's house keeping team are excellent, they come in early, clean and then leave everything looking great. We asked them to cook a couple of meals for us on the bar-b-que. Salvadorian rice, shrimp, fish, chicken, pork.... all fresh really great. Don't miss this on your stay. They even cleaned everything up after the meal. My family and I have been renting houses in different countries in the region (Costa Rica, Mexico, Puerto Rico etc) for the last few years and Dianne's has been the best place we have had the pleasure to stay in. • Fun Vacation!

"This was our second stay at Hermozo, and we really enjoyed it, once again! This time 3 of my siblings joined my husband and I for a short vacation. We appreciated how clean and well-taken-care-of everything is there, the staff really does an excellent job! Something we like to do while staying in La Libertad is taking advantage of the inexpensive, freshly-caught seafood to be purchased on the pier. This trip we enjoyed sword fish and tuna- just be sure and ask the vendor to clean it for you, or where you can get it done, if you don't want to bother with the mess yourself! Another plus about this property is the well-stocked kitchen, since we did all our own cooking, that was important to us! :) El Salvador is a beautiful country, and we have found Hermozo to be a good spot to enjoy it at."

  • Beautiful House, Great Experience, and Excellent Service.

"My fiance and I were excited to spend quality time here at this house. We were not disappointed. Upon arriving the house exceeded the pictured displayed on this site. The grounds are very beautiful and the beach view is amazing. We were immediately greeted by Sergio (the grounds keeper) who was so nice, friendly, and helpful. He politely showed us around the house and explained all the house rules to us, which were all self explanatory and expected. Sergio also gave us helpful tips and recommended places to visit, places to avoid, and pointed us toward the right places to eat. The swimming pool was a place of comfort every day, as expected El Salvador is hot and humid and a day or night in the pool always hit the spot. Sergio, also adjusted the jets in the pool when we were in, but he was very cognizant about being private. The rooms were comfortable, but they could use upgrading. Sergio also made it a priority to secure the residence at all times screening and visitors before they were allowed inside. The most memorable experience about the house was "Fookie", the guard dog. We instantly fell in love with the dog, and if possible would have adopted the dog. Fookie would sleep at our porch and guard the residence and porch area. No strangers were allowed to get close to the premises without Fookie barking alerting us someone was close. A couple of scraps and dog food is greatly appreciated by Fookie, needless to say he ate like a king while we were there. Lastly, Sergio introduced us to Omar, who provided is with delicious sea food, breakfast, and dinner. All meals were very well prepared at very cheap prices. The house, Fookie, and Sergio made El Salvador a memorable experience and leaving all three actually made us sad at the end of our trip. The house is worth it; it puts the beach, seafood, and relaxation at your finger tips. Highly recommended!!!"

  • Wonderful relax with family

"We decided to take a weekend getaway from the routine. So playa dorada in El Salvador and the casa tortuga was picked. The staff are wonderful and the house has everything we needed for both parents and kids to enjoy. We did our own cooking but Ana did purchase us some fresh fish as well as offering to get us Shrimp if we wanted. The pool is good for children and about 1/3 is shallow while the rest is large enough to do laps. The beach can be a bit rough depending on weather but we were able to get in some hours in the ocean as well. On sunday we walked down to a turtle reserve project and learned all about sea turtles and their conservation. The kids got to liberate young turtles!"
